It would be great to see some more additions even with the original coloring palette to see what kind of mood it would cast upon the current build of the game
My personal graphics/art direction opinion: sure i agree that there could be some modification to the overall color scheming of the game, however i think that its a minor annoyance when looking at the effect that the lighting should bring to the game. The original 2 games both used this effect greatly to pull off the right atmosphere and feel while playing. The friendly looking game world is a bit odd (smiling lions) and i don't dig it however these may just be there to help fill out the world and to somewhat showcase their progress and may be worked over later. Another thought is early parts of game they said they were drawing inspiration from Zelda, remember the changes in the game world from ocarina of time from kid mode to adult, that type of thing would kick ass in Diablo.
No. Light radius works really well in 2d, but when you put extra time and effort to make the game 3d you dont want everything obscured by complete darkness.
Then alot of the background 3d stuff would be lost like the monster in the gameplay trailer, you can barely see it as is.
Not necesarily. I said blur not black out. Give the game a feel of depth, I dont want monsters I can see bright as day from 6 screens away... But the backgrounds and layers of the dungeons should be more clearly revealed as I approach them, ya dig?
Get real, folks, the diablo you all knew is dead, a few years ago i said right here in this forum that D3 had a pretty good chance of being blizzard first bust (i was flamed to death ofc), and what you know, its not even beta and its already looking that way.
Well, its good to know we have a couple of cheaters here.:) I'd say : put the light radius back in for some of the indoor environments. You don't need it all of the time.
i like light radius, gives a sense of atmosphere. but i used maphacks too, but for locating that damned tal rashas tomb
Never used map hack. Never will, takes away from the "adventure" to me... I play games to pass time... I dont mind aimlessly running around till I find something lol

I played through the first time as well, but aimlessly running around the same place you have been to countless times just gets BORING. If anything I think it should be a toggleable options, and that way we can please everyone. If it was an option I would turn it on during the first few dungeons, maybe.
Wow i really thought people would have been down with the light radius. I can understand the 2d/3d thing above, having a good quality lighting system for this effect to work well would up the requirements which blizzard would avoid like the plague. But i never found the light radius to totally obscure anything on screen except maybe parts like that passage to the scroll of unifuss.
I never used maphack but i played some good mods that made the "where the hell is the way" frustration redundant. yeah i don't find the fun in tele-port to boss/superunique, kill, new server. Even though that is a necessity to good gear.
Also when i play games like Halflife2 I dont say use - allbright, whitewalls, speed+++,noroil, autofire, aimbot just because its more efficient. I like using flashlight, i like shitting myself, i like dying in game.

Thats why dungeons are random. nd now enemy encounters/uniques will be even more random.... YAY!! drools in love of the idea

Sense of fake atmosphere..
I remembered the tombs so didn't need much maphack.

best? ahh yea like the 100 meter runners are best with doping.
btw rushing sucks ass aswell. why don't people play the game as it should. I hope rushing is not possible in D3
Light radius is fun during your first run through the game.
When you start doing boss runs its just annoying.
Boss runs are just annoying.. I hope we don't see these things in D3 either. You play with hacks and get 100's of more boss runs than one who does without.. fair? not.
how can u remeber the tombs, their random, unless u really did that arcane sanc thingy to look at it...
How else u get to canyon of magi? oh yea the rushing which sucks. There wouldn't be much need for maphack if there wasnt A) exp leeching and rushing MF running.
For Starters here is a picture that someone made to show what it could look like in game.

Its one of the things that's cool at first, but then becomes annoying when you need to do something for the 100th time. E.X. Tal Rashas Tomb...
