Yes Re-spec is a poor feature targeted at unskilled/noob players. How can you have a Ladder or a scale of skill in players with respec, imo respec available to hardcore players only and only go back about say 2 skills back.
oh yeah on another topic shouldnt hardcore players be rewarded in some way ?!?!?!?!
I don't want respeccing, i love walking past noobs using a lvl 12 teeth spell or something, its a necessary element to the game and helps the characters be unique with online play, otherwise every character you come across online will be uber and gay. Its good to have the possibility of a soiled character and uplifting when you create a ubermachine of death. imo
So i guess the consensus is that light radius/line of sight style fluid shadowing from all light sources not just your character and not pitch black so you cant see things would suck?
You would prefer however a blinding brightscreen with all map revealed so you can do item runs over and over again... This sound like nothing to do with the actual FEEL OF THE GAME..
Wow i really thought people would have been down with the light radius. I can understand the 2d/3d thing above, having a good quality lighting system for this effect to work well would up the requirements which blizzard would avoid like the plague. But i never found the light radius to totally obscure anything on screen except maybe parts like that passage to the scroll of unifuss.
I never used maphack but i played some good mods that made the "where the hell is the way" frustration redundant. yeah i don't find the fun in tele-port to boss/superunique, kill, new server. Even though that is a necessity to good gear.
Also when i play games like Halflife2 I dont say use - allbright, whitewalls, speed+++,noroil, autofire, aimbot just because its more efficient. I like using flashlight, i like shitting myself, i like dying in game.
It would be great to see some more additions even with the original coloring palette to see what kind of mood it would cast upon the current build of the game
My personal graphics/art direction opinion: sure i agree that there could be some modification to the overall color scheming of the game, however i think that its a minor annoyance when looking at the effect that the lighting should bring to the game. The original 2 games both used this effect greatly to pull off the right atmosphere and feel while playing. The friendly looking game world is a bit odd (smiling lions) and i don't dig it however these may just be there to help fill out the world and to somewhat showcase their progress and may be worked over later. Another thought is early parts of game they said they were drawing inspiration from Zelda, remember the changes in the game world from ocarina of time from kid mode to adult, that type of thing would kick ass in Diablo.
Bah really starting to notice the character model's now. They really are clunky and what looks like directly ripped off of warcraft models. That Barb Girls foot looks like a tauren foot. Sure i find the coloring wrong but i don't think it is far from what we all want.
I had the same problem when D2 came out over D1. This works for anything in entertainment, when there is a good thing going it will be dumbed down, simplified and made more acceptable for a greater audience hence greater money. Its also a shame now that all the smaller more daring game companies have been shafted out by the bohemoth money making companies.
I hope that the dev's go fuckit lets make this sucker really dark and hellish but i doubt we will get the game that we have all been longing for.
ummm yeah i have already read this somewhere that d3 will use Havoc physics and supports driectx 10.1 this was considered a bit of a win for ati/amd. I beleive it was found on www.fudzilla.com
you can make a game run on either direct9 or directx10.1 by the way. The difference will most likely be minimal as like it was for D2 with its opengl or software mode options.
OMFG, i just bought a can of tuna and a bottle Of coke without thinking this month... Total money spent $10 --=> fuck my life is over and i guess the bank will be here to reposess my shit tomorrow......
anyone that cannot save $2.50 (think ten minutes of working) in 7 days is a farqin retard.. case closed....
Unless there's subscription which people will scream/cry and boycott the game over.. no..
If you add some money into the equation then blizzard will have a reason to worry about hacks and stuff.

For Starters here is a picture that someone made to show what it could look like in game.
