Well, the gameplay trailer didn't have any really. They all seemed pretty average looking. I always liked how in Diablo and Diablo II you could always easily spot a more powerful enemy due to a ridiculous looking color scheme.
Despite the scenery being dark, dank, and gothy, a lot of the enemies looked downright flamboyant.
Do you think we'll see a return of this in Diablo III? i hope so.

I'm not trying to bring that in here, but that IS what i'm basing my answer to your post on. If you want some hope, there's always some crazy chance that they haven't implemented such a feature yet, but plan to in the future...
I preferred the different color enemies but from what the video showed us i think each mini boss like that will be a special model which would pretty cool.
Ooh the color scheme is a little brighter that mean's they are trying to make it as un-diablo-like as possible!
First off, the color scheme was a big part of diablo.
But that's not it. Look at the armor design.. not very diablo like. Look at the character animations, and characters in general.. they seem exaggerated and absurd. The way they move is totally exaggerated and cartoonish, whereas in Diablo and Diablo II, people moved in what i thought was quite a realistic manner, for a fantasy game. I think that makes a lot bigger difference than the lighting. But uh, that's totally off-topic. my point is, the color scheme is nowhere near the only thing they drastically changed.

I think that the different-colored monsters was a weakness because they didn't have a large enough bestiary to change it between difficulty levels and such.

Well, I think that was the reason for it, but I thought it was cool nonetheless...

I hope they have weird colored monsters to lol...when i say that i mean, mobs that have a unique leader which is colored differently. I like the bosses we've seen decently, but i HOPE THAT THE BOSSES AREN'T ALWAYS GOING TO MAKE IT INTO SOME SPECIAL LITTLE CUT SCENE! that would be annoying and stop the flow of action IMO.

I know what you mean. Cause there's weird colored champions from each monster race, and then there's the uniquely modeled BOSS! They need to know which is which.
Guys, get over it. It is a darn game, and I for one do not give a flying fuck what they do with the color schemes. It is Diablo 3, it had my money from the second I saw gameplay.
Diablo 3 has a lot more budget than D2, I think they want to be a lot more innovative and make the monsters has unique and different from one another has possible.
Of course they could always bring back the old system of unique/champions by simply changing some of the colors on the monster's skin or by adding an aura of some sort to them.

What are you talking about?
*cough*
But let's not just make this another thread about that sack of disappointment.
