for me the season 5 is allready over/i´m done till blizzard actually do something against botters, sadly...
I played like 15 hours a day. Got a #1 after ~12 Hours into season on a Gr70, finished the Journey and got to Paragon 900 2 days ago. As i was hitting p900 i just took a look at my fl and people (i know that they´re botting) are playing the game for maybe ~5 hours a day and bot the rest of the day. They are online for the full duration of the season (like in previous and specially last season) and are paragon 850-930 only of botting ~65 solo´s on wizards and farming t10 for keys. I mean, they´re not that far behind from people who put their whole time into the game, searching people to group up for speeds etc. If paragons weren´t that important, ok but getting rewarded for doing nothing is just bullshit in my opinion.
So i wish every legit player all the best on gearing and pushing!!
Hopefully blizzard rek botters at some time...
See you when the game is worth playing again for me !
Not really sure why it matters? Are you that upset you can't be on the top of a leaderboard that is utterly pointless and in the long run absolutely meaningless?
Botting has been around forever and at this point in the game they've removed any avenue that would allow someone else being that far ahead of you to negatively impact your game
auction house is gone
trading is gone
your individual experience is in no way dictated by outside forces for someone else botting on their account.
You griping about botters when you are P900 after only a week!! I think you need to relax and get a life, I play after work (work is key word as people who don't work play for 15 hours a day) and on weekends, I am P200 but I have one advantage over you, I enjoy the game because of the slower pace, who cares about how much Para levels one has, don't do diddly if you do not have or can not find the gear. And it does not mean you are a better player if your Para levels are high, the good and skilled players can get to the top of the leader board with lower Para levels (look at the Chinese).........basically just chill and enjoy the game.
I gotta rant at Blizzard for allowing people with 15+ free hours to play their games, i mean come on, i work from 8 to 5 and I get home at 6, play maybe until 10, thats only 4 hours, so unfair comparing to those who has 15+ hours free to play and get ahead of me, like wtf.
Ill come back when blizzard bans those who have more than 4+ hours to play their games, *pouts*
Botting is a major issue in this game, why do you think there were 2000 page petitions. If you dont understand why or how it affects the game, please dont post. Making points with "i dont understand" makes you look like morons.
Pretty much this... OP can report botting people, but you can`t say a thing about how much time they have to play or if they play at all... Just report them and hope for a future ban >=)
Why do other peoples pixels have any effect on you?
If there was trading, or a pvp scene that was getting dominated by botters being so for ahead that it ruins your experience I would understand. But hell, there could be one guy with full haxor gear having cleared GR6000 and it would literally have 0 effect on your experience.
What did you expect? Blizzard never said they were going to do anything about it. Its blizzard 2016 not blizzard 2001, they dont care.
Care to explain the difference? I haven't seen the slightest change in Blizzard's stance on botting for the last decade+. Every now and then, they ban a bunch of people. For months in between, people whine that they do nothing. That was how it worked in D2 era, how it worked all through WoW's life, and how it works now with D3 and Hearthstone.

You do undersand that their is a thing called "season" right ? And that this seasons have a leaderboard right ? And that this leaderboard is the whole reason to play for a lot of harcore nolifers right ?
Cheaters should be banned, period.
They ban botters on a case by case basis and will not announce ban waves unless it's due to an exploit. Very rarely (has happened before) will they announce a wave of bans for botting. On a even more serious note. It's none of your business what happens with other peoples accounts. They do however Ban people every day. This is apparent by visiting the forums for the bots you are worried about. People complain about being banned for using a bot on their forum all the time. You can do something however. You can report it to their hacks team and they will investigate it. http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/submit/hacks.html
Botting is a big problem apparently. But speaking from experience. Paragon 800, botting, map hacks and HUD overlays are not required for ranking in the top 50 mid-season. Time, effort and skill accounts for most of that.
It's funny to see all the casuals replying with "who cares", "how does it affect you". Bunch of worthless noobs. If you saw someone cheating in any other game, wouldn't you be pissed? If you went to the casino and saw someone take advantage of the system, wouldn't you be pissed? Are you calling all the top players and streamers morons for writing an open letter?
Botting is an issue that affects everyone. It ruins the experience for everyone in seasons, non seasons. This is a GAME, people are competitive. When people are cheating to get an advantage, then the whole game is ruined. If you're a casual that thinks it doesn't affect you, thats nice. Just stfu and gtfo.
The addition of the Rebirth feature makes it challenging for those outside of Blizzard to accurately sort out the number of hours per day a botter 'plays', but this is a number that would be trivial for Blizzard to obtain. It is my opinion that Blizzard (for whatever reason) does not care to deal wit the problem, because it would be easy for them to ban botters, who could be easily identified by looking at the number of hours they play per day...

maybe the problem is putting your whole time into a game. i could careless about ladders or botters, i enjoy the starting over part. and building a char up.

suck it up and move on.
So uuummm report the people on your friends list?
You're one of the reasons they bot, because you don't do anything about it.
OR
You can just play how YOU want and stop looking at what others are doing.

there is thing called leader board and its competitive game. and botting doesnt affect one's game? go play something different casuals, lmao
There is so little content in Diablo, that Leaderboards and Ladders do matter even to the more casual players.
Which is why all kinds of cheaters affect even the legit solo playing gamers out there,
Why do other peoples pixels have any effect on you?

Cry me a river cause hacks, cheats, trainers, tables & yes bots will always be part of gaming!
I made it past 600, with a very casual playing regime. No way you'd need to bot to break 900, I could've done it.
