I haven't seen anyone post this yet and i've run into some nasty combinations since i've started in hell. And as a barb we end up with the crap end of the stick when it comes to dealing with the champion packs. What's the worst ability combination you've come across and it could be the most deadly, most irritating, or hardest to kill.
For me it probably wasn't the combination itself but the situation i found myself in. I ran into a vampiric/plague elite pack in nightmare, and i had tyrael following me. No matter what i did i couldn't even get them below 90% health. If i even remotely did any damage tyrael and my follower (which i ended up dismissing) would heal them back up because they stood in the poison. The funny thing was my brother who was 58 at the time brought his barb in to try kill it and he couldn't do shit against it either lol. Although i'm sure if i left the area and got tyrael away from the mobs he would have killed em just fine. We did manage to kill it at some point with some tweaks to our builds.
Anyway what have you guys run into that either kicked your ass or left you completely stumped.
as a wizard i hate mortar .... even more mortar with melee enemies that hit pretty hard ... in combination with waller, jailer, frozen it is unbeatable for me ...
Anything with a combination of Molten/Plague/Desecrator and either Fast/Extra Health/Invulnerable Minions are pretty much impossible for me to solo on inferno
Frozen/arcane/X tend to give my monk most troubles - have to kite them waiting for cd's on heal/immune to get in and deal some dmg time and time again. Also immune minions are pretty tought on a beefier mobs with any kind of aoe since you can't pick a target and have to get in the heat.
I think, the mob type is most important. Bats, Scavengers or Skeletons can be pretty much anything. They're the most annoying with shield and any or multiple of arcane/desecrator/molten. But they're all killable (in Inferno a1, that is).
What is unkillable (for me) is a pack of slow heavy hitters(no revenge procs) with high hp, like Unburied. Let them have shield, fast, vortex and arcane for the worst enemies in the game. Sad thing, that quest mobs are so much easier and no one will ever know or care about who killed champ packs
The two worst ones I've faced so far are Fast/Jailer/Extra-Health on Morlu Incinerators and Waller/Fire-Chains/Vortex on carrion bats. The first pack took about ten minutes of hit and runs trying to avoid the billions of meteors. Couldn't even kill the second. Luckily most of my packs have been junk like Illusion/Extra Health/Vortex, stuff that's easy to burn through. Love illusion packs, Revenge:Provocation fodder. Can tank for days.
Any combination of Frozen and Waller/Jailer tends to make me want to climb walls. Frozen, now you're Jailed. Frozen again. Frozen again. Jailed again. Now you're Frozen. Oh, look, now you're dead.
Frozen+Plagued isn't fun, either - either you never stop moving or you're going to get frozen on top of a pile of goo and die immediately.
so the other day i had those damn insects in act 2 that spit little bugs at you as champs. fast/vamp/firechains...i should have just reset the map >_> i couldn't catch them and i couldn't run away. If i managed to catch one they surrounded me and healed back up or killed me T.T
i don't think so...when you put your cursor over one of the mobs and their name pops up at the top of the screen you should see right under it something like. Extra Health, desecration, vortex
you won't see this on normal mobs, quest mobs, or bosses. So make sure your looking at a champion pack or elites.

someone at blizzard is very evil...
Is this turned on in the UI options somewhere? I look under their names and don't see anything but the colored healthbar.
