If they're getting the advertisement ready and deciding on pre-order bonuses I'm sure the release date isn't too far away. I'd definitely bet my chips on a mid-late 2013 release.
I really hope this is a launch title for the Ps4. I'd definitely buy it. No AH, Offline mode, still fun game. I'd take that anyday. Plus PS4 is right now looking to be the better system out of the next-gen hardware. Hopefully Xbox wows us and maybe Blizzard will make D3 for Xbox too if it becomes the better system after announcement.

They announced the title for PS on a Sony conference. So that's the biggest reason why it wasn't announced for Xbox. Nothing is certain of course. With the Xbox's simpler code migration from PC it makes a good amount of sense for the game to come out for it as well, as much less work will go into it. Seeing as how the PS3 version has some pretty neat "console improvements" added it would surely be appreciated from the Microsoft audience as well.

If this is a launch title for the PS4, I am automatically getting it both. Though I wonder if the helm could be accessible on the PC version of D3. That would be sweet and would really reward those PC gamers for support both versions of the game.

I don't always burn. But when I do, I use hellfire.
We're excited to announce that Diablo III is being developed for the Sony PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. We'll also be adapting the award-winning action–role-playing game for Sony's newly announced platform: the PlayStation® 4!
Sit Down, Relax, and Kill Some Demons
Diablo III for the PS3™/PS4™ will be based on the core PC game and feature all the latest updates, including Paragon levels, the Infernal Machine event, Monster Power, Brawling, and more. This version is also being tailored with customized controls, a new user interface, and a dynamic camera perspective to provide an awesome Diablo III experience for PlayStation gamers.
Players will be able to wage war against the Burning Hells on their own in single-player games as well as team up and destroy countless demons with their fellow Nephalem in multiplayer games. For multiplayer, players will have the option to choose between four-player online (complete with matchmaking) and four-player local co-op modes for their couch-based warfare.
Follow the Falling Star to Boston, MA
The PS3 version of Diablo III will make its public debut at PAX East in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center from March 22–24, and attendees of the convention will be some of the first to defend the world of Sanctuary via handheld controllers.
We call upon all heroes to join us at the official Blizzard booth, where you can enjoy some fast-paced hack-and-slash, participate in fun contests and giveaways, and learn more about the game. (Community managers will also be on-site, and they look forward to answering your questions and slaying some of Diablo's many malevolent minions with you.)
Is that helm for the PS3/4 release only, or do you get it on the PC as well then (if you own that version)?
Console versions and PC versions will not be tied in any way.
At this time, this item looks to only be for the console (such an item is not part of d3 as of patch 1.0.8 and D3 for ps will have patch 1.0.7 I THINK they said? can't remember
For clarity, the PS3 version of Diablo III is based on the PC version and will include many of the same features as the PC game, including content all the way up to patch 1.0.7. From there, it's being tailored specifically for the PlayStation platform and will feature a redesigned control scheme, camera perspective, and UI.
Exclusive pre-order items are something the gaming community should be throwing a fit about, not supporting the idea.
These cheap marketing tricks make me sick, yet nobody seems to care that certain items are only made available to people whom bought the game using the pre-order system.
Whether or not an item is in-game shouldn't rely on anything that happens outside of said game.

Im actually a fan of pre-order bonuses. Im going to buy the game anyway, so ill take something extra for doing it before release. I like getting a little something extra for getting the game when it comes out, instead of waiting until I could buy it used or what not. Its a smart move (unlike Day 1 DLC that you pay for.. now that is .. another story)
[Though I do hate when different companies have different preorder bonuses.. and a few of thing are kinda awesome (like with the Injustice: gods among us pre-orders) and you can only pick 1, that sucked :P. But its w/e

Why shouldn't dedicated fans that believe in a product before its released get rewarded?
I don't usually preorder games, but I like the fact that those that order a game before there are any reviews etc.. are rewarded.
My point was to say that the games release date would probably be the PS4 Launch date with it being a launch title, and the PS3 version would come out either at the same time or shortly after to help drive PS4 sales.

Well that kind of depends on how the pre-order bonus works, if the bonus is determined by which of the 300 retailers selling the game you bought it from then I generally have an issue with the concept, whereas if thee pre-order bonus is just something that will be released as DLC 2 months down the line then thats fine really.
PC got collectors edition, will ps3/4 have wing items? I guess people just want to cry over somthing
D3 wings very likely. Unless they decide to go with something completely different, which would also be fine. HotS wings on the other hand... Likely not.
I'm also a fan of preorder bonuses, but not the store-exclusive ones. Not having a complete game when I buy one just feel dissatisfying.

For one, you're getting a "reward" for satisfying their marketing department.
...and second.....those who unable to pre-order are punished through exclusion.
Not making a federal case out of this. It just seems wrong to offer items to customers whom are the first to pay. Kinda goes with this whole 'wallet warrior' trend that games are driving at, and you people eat it up.
Soon they'll be giving away great free items to anyone willing to tattoo the company logo on their forehead.
Who cares about an item you get if you pre order? i don't understand...
@HolyCrepe: I don't think so... I'm pretty sure they will launch the PS3 version alot sooner than the PS4 release. I might be wrong though... Oh well.
I think with it being announced at the PS4 reveal, the PS4 is the one they will release first, PS4 is only ~6 months away.... It will most likely be out Late Oct or Early November.... now if that gets delayed till Dec or beyond, then the PS3 one will be out first to cash in on the holiday season in full.

I discovered this advertisement at Gamestop today. The preorder bonuses are a poster and an in-game helmet that provides bonus exp to the wearer.
As expected, there is no release date yet.

Also, thanks a lot for this Finaj.
