I dont know about you guys, but in the previous diablo franchise games the longer you stuck with the game the more you were rewarded when it came to items. For instance, im not sure if it was the .08 or .09 arreats face in d2 that was sickest, but by the time .11 came out if you had the .08 arreats face you had some GG. Dont get me wrong I'm very impressed with the new changes b/c they were super necessary at this point, but what does that say for patches to come. How do the people who stuck in there from day one feel when then newer you are to the game the better off you are? Where are the loyalty points ??? Food for thought.
Loyalty points end when the cashier hands you your receipt for a $60 game. We should be happy Blizz is even bothering to fix things and take user feedback; unlike some game companies that drop a $60 game in your lap and say, "here".
The sense of entitlement with this game is unreal.

Not just this game, but most games. The majority of the vocal playerbase should be thankful we see anything at all more than bug fixes (and even that is subject to question with some games). But no, they will whine and cry cause "it isn't enough!".
Realize something: You are entitled to nothing more than the product that you paid for. Anything after that is gravy. Patches, updates, new fatures, on a F2P game is all BONUSES. You are not entitled to get a single thing from the company once you pay for the game. A sub-based game is different to an extent (basically your sub entitles you to have server access, but that is it. Again, content is at the dev's discretion, not your demands).
Hopefully people will understand this concept, but... people have let me down plenty over the past, and I think I need to stop classifying most posters on the internet as "people", it might make me less pessimistic to others.

When the overall response towards a long awaited sequel to one of the best games ever is generally negative a certain standard that was set is now broken. This does not mean me or anyone else feels entitled nor should it warrant the judgment of someone who's opinion is no greater than anyone else who posts on here. The core of the Diablo franchise is based off of past customers and longevity. Not the turn around time similar to a fast paced restaurant with decent food and shitty service.
I'm pretty used to newer people getting the better deal, it's been happening in lots of forms for many years now. A good example is Game of the Year editions of games. We pay initial launch price and then full price for every DLC on a game, and then a year after release someone can pick up the whole GOTY collection for 50$ or whatever.
In WoW the game got increasingly easier and gave more incentives to new players. A lot of mmo's give benefits to new players also. I've bought plenty full price for them to go free to play later on.
It sucks but it's just something that happens, people who wait will always get a better deal in the end.
Why do the general "entitlement thumpers" on here feel as if it is too much to ask for blizzard to remember how they got to where they are today? You do not build anything that lasts without sticking to the core values and loyal customers that stick with you through the ups and downs. I know this b/c I help run a family business that has been in business for over 20 years. Blizzard is a business and should be treated as one.
You could have farmed act3 with your eyes closed for months, being invulnerable and everything and the new players can't to this anymore. How is thins unfair towards the ppl that played from the start?
As far as rewarding loyal customers I'd say Blizzard is actually one of the better companies at it. Take WoW's anniversary pets and feats. Some things you receive just for being an old account iirc. I mean there's just not a whole lot they can do in multiplayer games though. If you don't encourage new people to come play the game will wither and slowly die out.

I agree that this is happening, but it doesnt mean that the Original supporters get completely left in the rain. Money isnt the issue for me here, its the feeling that putting in the time and effort gets you very little if the same things are offered to Noobs.
Thats sort of true and sort of not though. You get the benefit of having played longer so you're more experienced and already have better gear.
I mean what would you suggest as a reasonable way to reward loyal customers? If this was an mmo they provide discounts on subscriptions for longer payments usually.

Yes and no to that too, Tu Che' .... how about all of the nerfs. My friends that play now , ie. witch doc and wiz are almost completely nerfed... I think there needs to be more of a balance to old builds when coming out with new ones. Fortunately, I am a WW / Tornado barb and they left this alone for the most part.... Thank god (you cant tell me that ww'ing all over the place isnt fun)

This doesn't really only stop at games if you think about it.
Lets say you buy a car for $20,000. In two years, some other guy might get the same car for $15,000 ... and yet people don't feel entitled to ask the car company to mail them 5000 like gamers do...(Not that it works either way)
IT's just how the entire world works. Things loses value over time, physical or digital.
Yes Witch Doctors are actually buffed, anyone that actually tries the Vision quest build will see that they have 97.5% of the mana regen they used to, but will now be able to cast spells when they are a good idea to cast instead of as soon as they come off cooldown.
And anyone that plays as a spec other than Vision Quest..... won't be completely screwed anymore.
People just see the big difference in the number (300% to 30%) and assume they were nerfed into the ground.... they don't actually do the math, used to be having Vision Quest up would bring you to 60 mana regen, now with it up you have 58.5 mana regen.

Again, its not about the money. How about this. Make some of the previous patch items more powerful, or leave them the way they are and dont make everything else better than they could ever be. Or give some perks to past time spent playing when considering things like NV and Pargaon systems. Dont come out with a patch thats like "oops here is what we meant to do, lets pretend we are starting with 1.04" If this happens every time, essentially it will be like starting over and over and over.

Then treat Blizzard like a business: If their games are fun, buy them. Otherwise, don't.
You seem to forget that you have already reaped the rewards of early adoption: You got to play and enjoy the game before the newer players. You got to accumulate gear before the newer players. Everything you have in game? You got it before the newer players. That is the benefit of supporting the game from the beginning.
You haven't earned any special items or treatment. You paid $60, the same as everyone else. What makes you more special than someone who buys the game tomorrow? Playing the game is supposed to be its own reward, so why are you sitting here asking for more? What have you done that entitles you to better treatment than the newer players?
Why are you asking for more when Blizzard has already provided you with patches, fixes, and a solid game?
Again, what have you done that makes you deserving of more than the other players?

Because they've given me years and years and years and years of enjoyable gameplay.
Not to mention I basically got my copy of D3 free.

Well, u make me feel like nothing I do makes me more deserving (i disagree). But, I will say this. Like it or not, my feedback is just as important as someone who feels the opposite as I do. I dont think I am a minority here either. So let me put the shoe on your foot. What can I do so that my opinion holds as much weight as yours? Or do you feel like anyone expressing their opinion on here if not positive is a waste of time? I have been constructive in past post with suggestions as to how to quiet some of this calamity, and I have agreed and disagreed with good and bad ideas alike.
If you got old natalya set will you keep your regen then?
That's a good question. I suppose there is no way to know like keeping a baseball trading card. But it'd be nice to at least hope that if you do you have made a wise decision.

Didn't WD get a overall buff anyways?

Blizzard got where they are today by creating The Lost Vikings For the Super NES. They also got here by creating SC, Diablo, Warcraft, and WoW.
They do it by making games. Not making popularity contests with it's players.
