lots variety of skills in inferno? lots of interesting elite combo? lol?
Yeah, there actually are a lot of viable skill builds out there. Some classes more than others, but patches are created for a reason. There are in-fact greater varieties of elite combos than before and no silly selective immunities to use as an arbitrary buffer.
A lot of people wanted Diablo 2.5; this isn’t it (thank god). Blizzard never puts out a finished product from release and they drastically improve the game over time. Usually to the point of being an epic game, every release has been like this. People forget things over time, it will be fine.
Bingo. I think the best 2 examples I can think of are Diablo 2 ... Which was considered bland/boring at release and is now considered amazing and StarCraft/Brood War which was also bug filled and had major issues at release but is now considered to be the most balanced and successful multiplayer RTS ever.
I know, but it was too good of an opportunity to pass up, especially since any other response to that particular post would have been "agreed." Gotta keep myself amused at work.

There's an inherent WoW paranoia that seemed to kill many folks patience. Any parallel that could even loosely be drawn becomes fodder for the haters.
Myself, I've become kinda leery about just how much Blizz is willing to move itemization in the right direction.
This is what I was expecting too see. But the OP is probly right. Speaking of that, I'm gonna go log in, and die to an elite pack in Act 3 trying to progress until all of my 1.5 mill is gone !

That was looong ago and those games weren't as messed up as Diablo 3 is right now. They had minor imperfections, here Diablo 3 is messed up from the core. There are many things they won't just change through patches, like: The skill tree, actual stat points distribution, AH/RMAH, the graphics. All they can do now is adjust itemization a bit, add some more items to variety like runes or charms , and add content through expansions(that will live for like 2 months and then down again) etc. But replayability-wise the game is just not there. That's the most they can do. Everything else is just a disaster FOR A DIABLO game. From an objective point of view, it is a good game if you plan on just beating Diablo two or three times, or AH browsing(ebay, the game version).
It is a trend in Blizzard lately. Their latest decisions have been dumbing down of their games. Like CATA, SCII, Diablo 3, introduction of battle.net 2.0. It's getting worse and worse. That's why I don't share your optimism that Diablo 3 will get super awesome because Diablo 2 and Starcract also had some problems back in 1990s/2000s. Blizzard had a lot of time to learn from those mistakes. It took them 6-7 years to complete Diablo 3, even half-assed, but complete nonetheless. So that shouldn't be an argument at all. Blizzard just doesn't give a shit anymore.
Honestly, right now I'm hoping for a Diablo 2.5. Diablo 3 is like Diablo 0.5, just with shiny and pretty graphics that have no place in Diablo in the first place.
I'm gonna go log in, and die to an elite pack in Act 3 trying to progress until all of my 1.5 mill is gone !
Even after 1.03 patch, ppl like you are still crying about how hard the game is...If you're not geared for Act 3, farm act 1/2 for gold and gear...Bads will be bads...Guess the next thing you'll do is cry to Blizzard asking to nerf other classes cause a few video post shows how overpower other classes are with their 500m gold gear...
Guess making other's as miserable as you are is your ultimate enjoyment...
People hate it so much because after a while, there is nothing to do. You beat inferno Diablo and then get better gear to kill him faster, but that is not end game for some people. The lore, the gameplay, combat and everything else is very good. The cinematics are by far the best I've ever seen in a game. Everything is good, there are just a few things that need to be tweaked, none of those have to do with lore, soundtrack and all that. That is why people say the game feels "unfinished" or "not polished"
So people hate it because its exactly the same endgame as D2 and D1 but these same people keep saying D2 and D1 were better games? GG at making no sense.
I think he is just pointing that D3 lacks the depth of other Diablo games (from their own Timeline perspective) İn our time games even surpass Holywood in terms of entertainment right now while Diablo 3 is nothing but an itemhunt with no reasons to keep you inside.
D1 and D2 were also nothing but item hunts. That's all the Diablo franchise has ever been from day 1. As to the idea that D1 or 2 had more depth, bullshit, D3 is the first Diablo game to actually have a story line that matters when you are playing through the game. And saying games surpass hollywood for entertainment value is nothing more than opinion. I would rather watch a good movie for the first times, and sometimes the second or third time rather than play a video game.
This is what I was expecting too see. But the OP is probly right. Speaking of that, I'm gonna go log in, and die to an elite pack in Act 3 trying to progress until all of my 1.5 mill is gone !
Well you have the option to go back and farm for gear/gold to get the upgrades you obviously need. Or maybe you just need to L2P? I mean, I killed Diablo Inferno a month ago with both my DH and Wizard with probably worse gear than most people complaining about the difficulty have now since prices have steadily dropped.

A trend lately?? Dumbing down and polishing up is half of what Blizzard does. WoW was a dumbed-down Everquest. Warcraft was a dumbed-down Herzog Zwei. Diablo, for God's sake, was a dumbed-down Hack... in fact, compared to its turn-based comtemporaries, Diablo was a breathtakingly shallow piece of brainless eyecandy... but it was infinitely more accessible. SC notwithstanding, Blizzard isn't in the business of making convoluted hardcore games designed to make their players feel special and awesome. Blizzard is, and has always been in the business of taking good ideas, then simplifying and broadening their appeal then selling 100 times more of them than anyone else.
Okay so I've been patrolling youtube videos, forums, and the game itself and a common theme is that people like to say that Diablo 3 is a very disappointing game and that the expectations it had were undeserved and all that usual nonsense.
What?
Diablo 3 is a very good game. First off, the gameplay is extremely well done. Just because it takes aspects of WoW, which is arguably the greatest multiplayer game ever made (coming from a guy who does not like WoW), does not make it a bad game. Just because the map is in the corner and not covering the whole fucking screen does not make it bad. The enemies are very enjoyable and the skills you have are also extremely fun and awesome. Like I finally decided to get a Wizard to Inferno and I realized how much freedom I had compared to all the other Diablo games.
I think that over the course of twelve years of waiting for this game, hardcore fans (don't worry I did this too) made their own Diablo 3 in their head and were very sad to not see their own ideas in the game. I think the story was extremely awesome. Yes I agree that Diablo's taunts were a bit cheesy and Magdha could have been a bit better done, but seriously, who cares? Maghda was a very interesting character and gave Belial a better name. I honestly just wished we could have faught against Imperius -___-
The music is also very good in the game.
The gameplay is very solid, the lore is awesome, and questing/multiplayer is very cool. I don't know why people hate on it so much, but like the old saying goes, haters gonna hate.
Diablo 3 = 9/10
You sir just said everything that was in my head about D3 we could be good friends lol
However, yes the cheesy and predictable dialogue was a big let down. Should have made the lore and vocabulary much more advanced. Diablo's comments in the final battle are almost comical. In fact all bosses dialogue is pretty lame and childish, it spoon feeds the player too much as to what is happening. Also when Diablo's saggy demon tits bounced i laughed my ass off, not ideal atmosphere for a 'final boss' to be intimidating or epic. Also imo Diablo should have been twice the size at least. But that's just me.
The atmosphere is a lot more daunting. If anything, they could have made it more grand and "end-times".
And Diablo 2 had NO end game. They're gonna release PvP, and that was always a given. Inferno has kept PLENTY of people busy enough, with Ghom kicking all of our asses at some point.
You run through Act3 and Azmodan comes many times to say how you won't kill him.
I dislike this game a lot, it was the biggest disappointment I've had in years, but this argument I've seen so many times just screams that you don't get the point. He is the lord of Sin, guess what one of the sins are? Pride. He's being Prideful, that's the damn point.

I was mostly referring to the hostel vs. hostile definition, but hey, if that's your idea of fun, no judgment here
Me thinks the lady doth project much.

So forgettable that you've been on it's forums for weeks mewling about how much you don't like it.
I never claimed to be a spelling aficionado.
