I pre-ordered the CE online, on top of my in-store pre-order of the normal edition. The CE might not arrive until the 18th, which, as we all know, simply will not do.
The plan is to go and pick up my non-CE, and play it until the CE arrives, if that is in fact possible. I don't want 2 accounts, I just want the CE applied to my account, but don't want to wait for it. Will I be able to pull the game itself out of the CE and sell it off to a friend or something? and then upgrade my account with some sort card contained inside?
blizzard has commented on this somewhere. they said when you upgrade to the ce from standard just call the customer service and they can provide you with another code for the standard to give away. they said it earlier, gotta find it somewhere.

i would choose my own religion and worship my own spirit, but if he ever preached to me i wouldn't want to hear it. i'd drop him, a forgotten god, languishing in shame; and then if i hit stormy seas, i'd have myself to blame.
Then how do the people who immediately add the CE to their account indicate to Blizz that it is a CE? As far as i can tell, a normal copy of D3 is contained within the CE box.

Beautiful, thanks. This is what I was expecting at the very least. It would be crazy to think that they would expect you to pay for a CE and a non-CE for like 190$, and be left with only 1 playable account because you had to wait for shipping.

The Key is not a standard edition key, even if the box is the same. If that's incorrect by all means let me know.

The key is indeed different from the Normal editions, else they are not able to add wings / dyes / pet / profile pics to the account.
As soon as you fill in the key, it will indicate as the Collectors edition... like previous with World of Warcraft.
Ahh okay, I was just unsure as to whether or not there was a normal key contained within the actual game case, and another to indicate CE within the larger CE box, or just a single key which does both.
