it should have a dps bracket so people can gear accordingly like weight in boxing. 100k dps / 200k dps / 300k dps / 400k dps etc.... that should help limit the rich a bit and make it more exciting.
There will be different limitations and requirements for certain tournaments.. some tournaments will be open to EVERYONE , test your skills against some of the best, than there will be lower Tier tournaments for more of a friendly crowd , and ofcourse high stakes tournaments where the Elite can play against each other.
we did take all this information about gearing into account and will plan accordingly.

blizzard has commented on this somewhere. they said when you upgrade to the ce from standard just call the customer service and they can provide you with another code for the standard to give away. they said it earlier, gotta find it somewhere.
forgot to mention that i built that pc just for diablo 3. yea i know it was overkill but i hate sitting there and thinking is it just enough for ultra setting or rather be safe. cant wait for the game. and i have many more pics of the pc and setup. those pics were from last year when i was in the process of building it. orange theme with some red for the diablo style.
it was built during last summer. it took me about 3 months to find deals and such to finish the project. if i went out and bought the pieces back then it wouldve been over 3500. but at the end after deals and promos i got them all under 2500. i built it myself so it didnt cost any labor. trust me first time doing watercooling isnt easy but well worth it.

PvP - I think if you have an area where its like an arena but spectators can watch from outside the ring. also the spectators cannot enter the ring unless a challenge is made by another person. have some kind of rating + ranking to show how well you place among other players is a fun way to keep people active. I dont know about group pvp but that could be something new. for example like an onslaught and last man standing on either team wins.

If people consistantly kept trying to find the same ultimate item eventually most people will have and just get bored. If sets of items were added monthly they would have a new goal other then just powerleveling another character. I love the armor styles back in the day but the only way to make it look different was to gem it up and change the color a bit.
Oh, and special events on holidays maybe out of the question but if we did some kind of quest and got an item you can wear to celebrate a holiday would be neat. I think this falls in with the mmo games.
