Incorrect... It's a thirty second cooldown on use of the skill and switching of the skill. I'm in beta and i've tried. It says Skill is not ready for use yet.

not incorrect. the WORDING is very clear. if thats the case then thats a glitch and im sure they will fix it. the CD is supposed to be on the swapping, not the skill itself

incorrect, its adding a 30 second CD and the spell, it cant be used, a blue commented on this, and said its not a bug
No, the wording can very well be interpreted as "the skill HAS a cooldown of 30 seconds", which means you can't use it, DURING WHICH you (ALSO) cannot exchange it.

link or it didnt happen. and what if you swap your entire skill bar? all of your skills are on CD and you die? lol
even if a blue did say it wasnt a bug. then its an insane problem that will be fixed.

I also like how you trust in my blue post knowledge when it goes with you but when it dosnt you dont believe me about a blue post hehe =P
if someone says they agree and have proof of what you say, why question it? if someone says your incorrect and you DONT question it, well that just makes you gullable. lol
but ya this doesnt make sense how the system is perfect if it actually worked how its worded lol. putting a CD on a new skill u wanna use is pretty much backwards. isnt it?
so let the QQing continue!
the link in the blue post refers to jays write up but no where in the write up does he discuss the new skill swapping....? *confusion*

also question. can you ONLY swap 1 skill at a time? so if you want to switch to a whole new build itll take 3 full minutes of skill swapping? or if you can switch more then one you have to wait 30 seconds to attack anything?

I still really don't understand the need for restrictions. Nephalim altar is too restrictive (personally), and the new one makes you wait 30sec to use a skill which is just stupid to me.
The only argument I ever see against restrictions is "people will macro" and my only thought is "so what?"

I'm in beta. I'll tell you exactly how it works.
Boom, level up, new skill available.
I choose an already existing skill I have to switch out, and pick a new skill.
that new skill has a 30 sec CD before I can use it, and I also can't swap with that same skill 'slot' again.
I also cannot swap a skill that is ON CD, such as being a wiz, and I use frost nova. I can't swap until it's CD is complete.
You can also swap up to your 6 skills if you'd like, they would just be on CD.
While the 30 seconds ends up feeling pretty long, this system is a GREAT compromise. I can actually use a new skill once I level while out fighting, rather than trying to find some alter. And without the ability to swap when that skill is on CD effectively stops abuse.
On a personal note, you're being kind of a douche.

hmmm. well i liked the alter idea just because i could swap my entire build and go back out and instantly use it. i see your point on how its better but id say if it was changed to 10-15 seconds then it would be nearly perfect.
im not being kind of a douche. im always fully a douche. where have you been? lawlz

You can swap as many as you like, each has its own 30sec cooldown

Ah, of course, should have remembered you, you douchey douche lol.
Actually that's the only part that I don't like, is not being able to switch out my entire skill set without it being on CD. BUT, I still prefer this method over the alter. And agreed, here's to hoping it becomes a 15sec CD =P
i think switching should be like town portal so you wait 3-5 secs before being able to change skills and breaks when hit, then wait 10-15 sec before using the skill.
edit: or maybe remove the 10-15sec before using a skill and replace it with 10-15 min cooldown that prevents you from switching the skill again.......

Well the 30 sec CD prevents you from using that skill, AND from switching it again.

Official Blizzard Quote:
Changing abilites puts them on a 30s cooldown, and they can't be casted. Don't think this is the intention.
As of right now, this is intended. Here is the full write-up by Game Director Jay Wilson.
As Deathdunny mentioned, this is still something Blizzard is working on. If you feel strongly about it, post some feedback in theBeta Feedback forums
have you read the people talking about it before getting mad at them QQing? we all have been saying we dislike it because we cant CAST.
like i said. the system would of been absolutely 100% perfect if the CD was JUST on the swapping, not the skill itself.
putting a cooldown on a NEW skill you get makes zero sense and is an epic blizz fail
I also like how you trust in my blue post knowledge when it goes with you but when it dosnt you dont believe me about a blue post hehe =P
Without the cooldown, then it can actually (theoretically) be beneficial for you to switch to a seventh skill in the middle of a battle.
Our old problem would be back. Less efficient yes, but still.
if someone says they agree and have proof of what you say, why question it? if someone says your incorrect and you DONT question it, well that just makes you gullable. lol

but anyway, Yeah you can switch more than one. (so that ALL spells are on CD)
The only argument I ever see against restrictions is "people will macro" and my only thought is "so what?"
