I mean I understand people with "high paragon" would be at an advantage if someone else was wearing the exact gear with the exact build, but clearly you would see that.
I just want to hear the communities thoughts on this.
In Lineage 2, they solved the PVP damage issue by giving people three full HP bars when they were pvping. Basically so no one could be one shot. So if you had 100k HP normally, in game mobs would be able to kill you after you took 100k of damage. But another player would need to do 300k of damage before you died.
I kind of liked the L2 style of pvping. Didn't like the chance of dropping gear that took me a month to get, but it was still fun.
PvP is insanely tough to balance with PvE. Just look at WoW, they change it every month or so. People also have much higher standards nowadays than they did - I can't remember ever doing PvP in D2 and surviving more than one or two hits, but I know people still did it and had fun in that environment.
All I'm trying to say though, is that it's not as easy as "remove crit" or "reduce player damage by 90%."
With RoS, people now have skills that hit for 30x weapon damage, whereas, other skills like zombie dogs hit for 0.3x.
Even with 5 dogs, and +50% damage that's still 5x0.45=2.25x damage vs 30x. The damage discrepancy makes it impossible to add a flat reduction, or many skills will just plain suck.
It is currently impossible to balance PvP in this environment.

Even a damage reduction of 90% would still be 1 Million, (which is what most players would receive after mitigation)
And would it be fun to see PvP players getting hit for a few thousand after seeing millions of damage on PvE?
The damage numbers are out of control imo, especially for PvP
Pretty sure it should be pointed out that players currently hit that hard..... this isn't just a RoS thing.....
