This build is not optimal. My gear is not optimal. I am geared for Archon and just swapped out 3 pieces (wand, Stormcrow helm, and bracers). I think with better gearing and a better optimized build this can be improved, but as you can see it handles Monster Power 10.
I'm going to farm up some keys for the ubers and I'll make videos of them when I get a chance.
Love the vid. That definitely looks promising considering your melee type stats are that low.
For reference, I'm calculating your EHP to be around 140k using Force Armor rune and including Glass Cannon adjustments. With blur that's more like 168k against melee. I expected the EHP requirements to be more around 500k with prismatic to be able to survive that well on MP10, so this is interesting.
I saw something like 49 mil hp on the keywarden and rare elite while the champion pack had around 27 mil each, again, just for reference, and my own curiousity.
Also, have you tried using the rune that makes DS explode when it falls off, since you're already getting away with using a rune besides the extra absorb one, or is the AP reduction that necessary?
I havn't really tried optimizing the build at all yet... I've just been busy with work/family and havn't had much time to play, and they brought the PTR down for maintenance tonight. I think that rune is worth giving a shot for sure. I also think with better gear force armor wouldn't be necessary, or blur. Probably there's no reason to use glass cannon over cold blooded either, and both would be better if possible. There is plenty of room for improvement.
I'm not sure about how or why this works out in terms of AP. As much as i try to do math that goes into AP management on this it just doesn't seem to add up to look sustainable vs 1 target. On multiple targets it's never been an issue of any sort. My question is - if you can handle meteor AP power with this, why not use arcane torrent disruption? It has 20% coefficient for every missile, and it shoots out at least 5 i think? With disruption it will scale the damage you deal by an extra 15% while having only 16 AP cost as compared to 30 from meteor

I think what you are missing are the ticks from the DOT that the meteor leaves on the ground, which proc APOC and CM.
man i have been thinking about doing a build like that for 1.05 but don't want to drop so much damage to get more than the 10 apoc i have wonder if i will still get it to work xD
Nice vid, really helpful too since it's against just one mob. Also, if my calculations are correct, you only have 153k EHP, plus blur which gives around 183.6k EHP against melee attacks. How much AP on Crit do you have? And that's at MP10, right?
And for anyone who doesn't feel like watching the vid, he only has 45% crit, including the scoundrel buff.
Out of curiousity, have you tried replacing blur with glass cannon? It'd probably be a lot easier of a choice if we knew how much of a damage increase the mobs get from each MP level but it seems like no one has quite figured that out, or they're just waiting for live since they could tweak it before release.
These vids were made before the meteor coefficient changes, if I'm not mistaken, thus the nerfs really hurt this build.
This is true, but I think the build is still workable. Here's a post nerf video:
Gear and spec at the end. The gear is not optimal, so I think with slightly better gear it will still work fine for ubers.
It seems like you were using your wand way too often, with the proc coeff of star pact getting halved I dont think itwll be your best option rune wise(should prolly into using either meteor or EB alongside a signature), also I would prolly use some sort of slow time rune instead of magic weapon.

He is probably using blood magic which is very viable next patch for the life steal.

This is with only 17 AP on crit. It is MP 10, you can see the MP in the top right corner near the clock.
I used blur for the video because I thought it would be safer... I havn't really tried to optimize too much because I don't want to spend too much time on the PTR. I've been doing this mostly to test if the builds worked. With better gear I'm sure glass cannon is the right choice, and it might even be the right choice for this gear.
The damage is really not all that high, even on MP10. I havn't really tested it, but it feels like the original inferno in terms of damage. My guess is that it's 10% per MP level, so +100% at MP10 over MP0, which is 25% less than live.
Here's another video of me killing Odeg, this time using Liquify instead of Starpact. It didn't work as well, mostly because I was very AP limited. I'm not sure which would be better with more APOC.
Here is one last one... in this one at the beginning I am trying out a WW spec and die to an elite pack. I switch to star pact and go back and kill them. Even after the nerfs, I like starpact more than WW. It does more DPS and I felt like I was getting more procs out of it.
Oh, one last interesting note... the skeleton in the video is from my Litany of the Undaunted + The Wailing Host ring set. That Skeleton's HP scales by MP level! At MP10 he is a monster tank. Just an FYI, it probably works for the demon from Maximus too.

This video was made on the PTR last night, so after the meteor coefficient nerf. The signature spells are all incredibly weak, including spectral blades which has an awful casting animation. Last night post-nerf I tried WW, star pact, and liquify and felt like I was getting the most from starpact, but this was with only 17 APOC (source + helm). With another 10 APOC liquify might pass star pact, but I need to find a weapon with APOC and lifesteal in order to try it.
On that note, I tried stacking life on hit but found it vastly inferior to using lifesteal, which is why I was also using the blood magic rune (for 4.2% total lifesteal) instead of a slowtime rune. Slowtime might be better though for more DPS if I had better defensive gear.

slow time is also great against pesky ranged packs, but mortars will murder you(dont know when theyll fix this...), If u already have life steal on weapon I dont think u need the ls from blood magic(especially with a high dps), slow time gives you more flexibility for high MP levels imo.
I was thinking of Conduit on Magic Weapon if the extra life steal isn't needed, which would help with AP regen a bit. Who knows, if I can better figure out how attack speed interacts with WW and meteor I might just make a simulator in MATLAB to compare some things like APoC, crit%, effective DPS, etc.

attack speed affects directly DoT from twisters, that is why everyone thinking about running ww/cm on 1.05 is aiming at the stars with their attack speed, this is not just me talking but several people who tried it on ptr.
