May I ask for more specific stats? I'm trying to decide upon whether to go for this or to keep trying my full dps build where I won't survive 1 hit from anything, but I have the ability, if I don't screw up, to avoid all damage. Honestly, I'd prefer being able to withstand damage rather than having to avoid it, some mobs are just too damn hard (jumping monkeys and such)
25% Crit, about 25k damage, 1.9 APS, 250 res all and 300 res to fire, 900 Life regen with galv and around 21k life.
I need vitality that is for sure because Belial's fist attack one shots me. I found it takes about 27k life to stop getting one shot by that. Just not having any luck finding vitality gear so far not even on the AH. Judging by the numbers A1 is about 20k, A2: 30k, a3: 45k, a4: 60k to avoid getting one shots with FA up at least on the bosses. I'd say my gear is relatively poor for A2 but every upgrade lets me progress a little farther and I'm pretty sure that is what Blizzard was looking for. I don't see this getting nerfed anytime soon because unlike the FA/0Vit build I still need to actively upgrade my gear and I can't just mindlessly spam WoF and DS. I still get caught with them on CD if RNG hates me or I choose to use them at a bad time and its bad news bears after that.
The only change I might see coming is a possible ICD of 1-2 seconds on critical mass cause this build literally resets Archon almost instantly and that is a 120 second CD lol ;). No reason really to nerf diamond skin or the like because the more life you get the worse the skill becomes. I've been contemplating dropping DS actually and picking up Teleport: Wormhole because there are times when no matter how much i cast it diamond skin gets instantly knocked off. Teleport would be a pretty solid option for escaping those pesky vortex mobs.

Yes, this is how quickly my skills usually reset as well and why I believe they will put an ICD on it. As a side note Diablo sounds AWESOME in which ever language that is. It sounds like the guys from the Stargate movie lolol.

Something I discovered, well rather overlooked, while using this build; wave of force reflects projectiles. Spamming this into the rotation means spear chuckers, magic users, and what not won't do you any harm.
i really dont like wave of force cause it knocks back monsters out of oyur permanent frostnova and if they have a rangeattack they kill you afterwards :/

they're doing it with 0 Valor buff, not even getting 1 yellow drop.. it's pointless because they get destroyed if they attempt it against actual champ packs.. FA worked against champ packs AND bosses that's why it got nerfed
I didn't think this would get nerfed until I saw that video. This has been my plan since critical mass was announced/released. I figured that the ICD would already be there, but the skill combination will be useful. What separates this from force armor is that force armor was essentially one skill that required you to gear counter-intuitively (minimize +vit). This is a 3-skill combo that encourages you to gear intuitively (maximize your stats). Once the ICD is in there, this won't make you invincible, but it will keep you alive in Inferno, but only if you game plan. I think that's the type of thing they want to see in inferno. Skill combos + gear + tactics = difficult but doable.
I wanted to highlight that this build is NOT foreveryone It can cause your hand to cramp - 4 button non stop spam - it can be pricy to start up - and it is VERY weak against ranged mobs (Dragons and Gobil Resurectors in Act3) unless you have MASSIVE health and Massive Resitances.
I have had alot of people friend invite me in game to say they are frustrated that it wont work when they only have 12-15K damage and 30-40K health.
So please dont try this unless you want to risk it -- of course keep in mind this will be hot fixed soon

They will change the chance amount of critical mass to reduce cooldowns, no idea what the chance% is now, but it will get upped to a point where you can't freeze lock bosses in combo with nova.
They will also probably look at how and why venom weapon crits so often, but yeah, don't bother spending money on this, the chance of nerf is 100%
The most logical nerf to this build would be an internal CD on critical mass unless its some sort of bug causing it to proc so much with venom weapon because it is seriously night and day with vs without magic wpn venom. Just for funsies i dropped force armor and switched to Shock Armor: Shocking Aspect. When you crit you hit with 35% wpn dmg. I must say this had hilarious results as entire packs of mobs just straight up exploded in 3-4 casts of living lightning and because its lightning damage mobs were basically stun locked with paralysis. To bad I get one shot by everything without FA or I would use shocking aspect for sure lol
Just killed Inferno Diablo with this build. I didn't think it worked at first but I forgot Magic Weapon (Venom). Yet another Wizard build waiting to be nerfed... How could Blizzard have missed all this testing?
I just love the fact it is wizard, which we all knew was going to be tough to play as, is the one with the most awesome nerfing potential, props to the guys who figure this shit out, it is certainly fun to play OP builds while it lasts.
Is storm armor with shocking aspect better than energy armor without the 5% crit chance? I'm at 13.5% crit chance without energy armor so im thinking i will still need it. I'm having a blast with this build, doing Act 2 with some slight trouble with some elite packs
And I dont think this will get nerfed because it isn't a build that you either go to or you're useless. If you read what Blizzard said on the FA nerf was that it felt like a Wizard either takes that ability or they are just gimping themselves, which is what felt with FA pre nerf. FA was also a lot stronger than this build by far, with FA and 5k Health, I was doing Act 2 farm runs with no trouble at ALL. I had Illusionist with mirror images and teleport and as soon as something stupid happened, like getting vortexed, i would instantly port out leave images behind for the minions to be confused, then used mirror images, and by that time my 1.4k health regen had me at full from the two hits I took without doing ANYTHING. I had around 300 Mythic Pots saved because i NEVER used a pot. And of course, Wizards were completely ignoring everything that wasn't more dmg to kill faster. Resistances, Vitality, everything did NOT matter with FA as they DO matter with critical mass. Critical mass is just a playstyle, and we DO get killed. I just got chain killed by a Vortex + Arcane + Frozen pack because whenever I tried to run out of their arcane or frozen I would get vortexed back and killed. Nothing I could do, and since it was a single target, I wasn't critting enough even with 22%. RNG was just killing me, and the only way i got him was when he was at half health, came back, and the RNG gods were on my side and got a lot of crit mass procs. Same thign with Maghda, I couldn't tank Maghda or chain freeze her, my RNG was horrible, the only way I killed Maghda was with nothing but electrocute spam from range.. her minions I did chain freeze but that was it.
I love this build and I doubt it will get nerfed. Did anybody see the Barb that grabbed 3 champion packs + a ton of mobs + the warden and killed them in 10 seconds tanking ALL of that? Nerf Barbs? yes the argument there is he had gear... well, this build NEEDS gear.. we cant just get pure crit and live, that will NOT work.. it will work in act 1 vs white minions, but beyond that, it will NOT work.. with FA I went into act 2 with 5k health, 14k dmg NO resistances no nothing.. and went up to Belial... VERY different specs

not even close. My two wizard friends are currently farming act 4 inferno and they detest this build. They've seen me use it and it's not their playstyle.. They love kiting and they do it really good.
I just find it hard to believe that Blizzard will go from saying there will be a lot of whacky over the top builds, to "wizard should just stand back and nuke, anything other than that will get nerfed"
Like I said, FA was 100x stronger than this build. This build still demands the wizard to properly gear, as in, get Int, get Vitality, get resistances, get armor. All FA asked you to do is "get a ton of dmg and succeed". That's why they're very different. By your philosophy, the build one of my wizard friends is using should get nerfed to. He has 65k HP and using Illusionist with mirror images and teleport fracture. The SECOND he gets hit he unleashes teleport and mirror images, having the minions almost never touch him. I swear if his health in inferno gets below 50% he's either lagging or just slacking, by how I've seen him play. Nerf illusionist too? Because he can spam teleport and mirror images having 7 images out running around and he can just sit there and destroy packs?
Has anyone tried Slow Time -Time Warp instead of Frost Nova? I found that frost nova doesn't last very long vs. elites and i'm just so cooldown locked. Pop Time Warp in the beginning...slows their attack speed and gives you +20% damage. refresh as needed. just mash explosive blast, diamond skin and the lightning guy
Upcoming Hotfixes - Critical Mass Got NURFED. Which makes bullistix's point completly moot.
This build is even more overpowered than the FA one, because in this one, you didnt need vit and resists... enemies were frozen 100% of the time. That means 0 damage completly. At least FA had damage intake and lots of regen. This one just have lots of damage and NO damage intake at all.
Hopefully nobody beats inferno mode again and makes a video for a while with a wizard cause i don't want to be forced to reroll. J/king LoL From the looks of their wording this is directly related to how much Magic Weapon: Venom proc'ed critical mass. I hope they don't nerf signature spells next.. I'm pretty sure every build includes tho.

The skills in question are venom hydra and venom rune weapon.
So, it got nerfed.
