In his video, he's bitching so many times about "items that are much cheaper on EU than on US". I wonder if he was just lucky by finding those items? I tried to build a similar set like the one he did and especially all the Zuni items are at least two times as expensive as in his video. I put in the same numbers and the prices were just twice as high, some even more. As for the ring, there was only one matching his stats, for 10 times more buyout (39m). Was he just lucky, or is it that everyone watched his guide and thus people realize "oh these items are worth something" and therefore prices increased? That would make basically every publicly released guide unusable. He also doesn't offer too many alternatives, like rare belt or black weapon, just to avoid running into this problem that you *need* Chanto set, 3 piece Zuni, and so on (which is not the case).
I liked his previous guides and linked them in my gear guide, but this one is in my opinion not too helpful because it falls short on several aspects: too limited choice of alternative gear, too much "luck" involved in sniping the items, a budget that's not really a budget build anymore, and a lot of assumptions that bring people into trouble who just think that within half an hour and with 50m they can build a perfect CM wizard. He has a lot of experience and is able to compute so much stuff in his head, if people do the same in less than an hour I bet many will end up with a flawed set in the end (just falling short on some important EHP stats for example).

60m for a WH with allres? Maybe on US. On EU for that you will get 10-20 allres max (I've been looking for one for weeks and decided to skip on allres for now). So yeah, go for the WH, especially since you're on US ;-)
Besides that, if prices are not completely back to normal you should really upgrade your gems (helm and weapon).
Last but not least, 25% crit chance is too low for a CM build. You could think about replacing your Hellfire Ring with a crit/IAS ring (and put an XP gem in your helmet) or replacing the Lacuni's - no idea how much these are with crit at the moment. I guess replacing your Skorn to get the 10% offhand crit would be too expensive in your DPS range...

Yeah, but with twister you need APoC, as you said; the nice thing about this build is that you need ZERO APoC because it's based on a signature spell. So you can max DPS/EHP and still have fun. Besides, if you switch LL to WW and replace Archon with EB, you're exactly at the pure traditional CMWW build ;-)

I guess if you would spend more time in-game and less time on these forums, you would be faster in catching up on these guys. That being said, I really appreciate how you share all your knowledge and expertise with all the little wizard apprentices in these forums. You might not have made it to the top yet, but across the board I guess you and Loroese helped a LOT of other wizards to become much much better. Thanks! :-) (And as a little green guy once said: "Do or do not. There is no try.")

In short, it depends. What do you want to do? Play in group or mostly solo, farm items/XP or uber bosses?
Kiting builds are probably cheapest, but many people are not too keen on that.
Archon is pretty awesome for farming, but doesn't work too well in groups unless you have decent gear and can do something during cooldown.
For uber boss fights or higher MP levels and when playing in a group, CMWW is probably a good choice. For 75M (which is not that tight of a budget imho) you should be able to build a ~70k unbuffed Archon or a low-dps CMWW wizard with high EHP for MP5. That's on EU server, don't know about prices on the US AH.

Very generous of you. But I don't think it was ridiculous or even un-selfish. Whenever I find an item I first think about if one of my friends needs it, and then about the AH. We're a group of people making our way through Diablo 3, and if anything makes our group stronger, it's fine. Even if you don't play with that friend right now, at some point he might join you for an uber fight and you'll be glad that you provided him with that extra DPS.
What I really like is the idea of giving items to total strangers, like when you mentioned raiding in the middle of some pubbies. That must be pretty awesome, when you're struggling to clear your way through the dungeon and then there's an Archon popping up in the middle of the fight, absolutely melting everything. Hmmm... maybe I should put on my DPS gear and join a pub game, could be fun ;-)

I don't think you have tried everything. I went to this one website you might have heard of and see what I did, using your exact words:

MP5 for keys/uber
MP7/8 for EHP testing purposes, but it's not really fun, so never more than a few minutes.

Ah well, you might be right. But then again... who cares about barbs? "I beat MP10 the other day" - "Wow, you must have awesome gear and decent skill... or are you playing barbarian?"
At least in the wizard DPS ranking he's been on top for quite a while now and it's unlikely someone will get there anytime soon.

Pretty much any piece of your gear would sell for more than a billion... at least on EU. At least you know that there won't be anyone beating your record in the foreseeable future ;-)

Yeah, it's a 1-shot. Happens sometimes... I try to not use the explosion before I have aligned all elite around me and I'm sure that they don't have damage reflect.
I've been using this build for the last couple of days for both group and solo play; it allows you to go to areas that are not completely covered with mobs. You aren't useless when your Archon has cooldown, and I just like the spell more than all the alternatives (I'm a bit sick of WW or blades).

isn't that 3 different types of elemental bonus damage and thus 1.06 * 1.06 * 1.06?

After playing Diablo games for 16 years, I'm not afraid of this anymore. My wrists can handle that. Heck, I have no idea how I even survived Diablo: Hellfire with my monk and his King's Staff of Haste. 3.8 attacks per second and there was no "holding left mouse button down" thing like in D2/D3 - you had to click for every single attack :-)

Is that so? "Seem to be" is fair enough especially when you say it (you're the theorycrafting master around here), but is there some actual proof?
I always read about the "18% dmg increase by Triumvirate" but it would actually be 19% then (for perfect rolls). Very interesting. Too bad that my current weapon has 80% of its damage from a lightning affix...

Whenever I sell something that quick, I ask myself "with a bit of patience, would I've been able to get more money out of it?"
