Yeah ... they're really cool and all ... but every thread members who have them posted in (especially multiple posts) the page loading goes to a crawl. I don't have a slow connection either, and I can imagine the hell it'd wreak on someone with a weak connection.
Can we, you know, limit the sigs as far as the people who have animated ones? I like them, but perhaps we should have a limit as for how much you can have. I mean there's a limit on sig size, so I think there should be one for how much information has to be loaded to display it.
I don't believe there are alot of people with these, the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Blackwing. As for limiting Sigs there is already a limit on them it can be seen Here Under section 4D - Signature limit.
The member signature situation has vastly improved since all the new rules regarding them were put in place. I really haven't been encountering that many animated ones at all.

Do you really think that someone actually reads the rules?
If there are not many animated signatures currently, then people just don't really use animated signatures right now.

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees

Maybe that's one of our issues- people don't read the rules. Read the rules, all of you!
Animated signatures aren't currently covered by 4D. There probably won't be any need to do so until this becomes really out of hand (which is why we had 4D amended in the first place).
I read the rule and it has absolutely nothing to do with signatures that take advantage of flash player. All it refers to is size limit in terms of screen size.
And Paladin, don't sit there and insinuate that I didn't read the rules.
All of that aside there are only 2-3 people that have some kind of animated sig and they all currently are the right size to follow the forum rules. If you think that someone has a sig that is against the rules report it to the Admins/Mods and we will look into it.
