realy i cant believe people are still that stupid or uninformed about that. This is NOT an exploit at all, do you even know what is an exploit? There is no bug here thus there is no exploit, period. No one will get banned for afk farming like this, well they might if they use macro, since it a third party programme, but blocking( with ducktape or what ever) a keyboard key or mouse is permited. If you dont like the rule of blizzard stop playing their game and stop fucking complaining about people who found cleaver way to maximise their level. They are not ruining your game experience, be a bit more realistic here, they are in their private game doing that alone or with friend who want to do that too, that have zero impact on you, except jealousy oftcourse.
Now that being say, is it fair? well knowing blizzard, no and they will fix those rat spawner soon. Simply because it's too effective without effort.
edit : Blue have allready state about afk farming in the past, im trying to find it, might stop those dumb people to say it is against tos or eula. As long as you do not use any third party programm, it is perfectly "legal".
(yes my english suck, prety sure not everyone know perfectly their second language.)
Your English isn't the only thing sucking here. Your grasp of vocabulary is quite fleeting.
ex·ploit
verb
ikˈsploit/
1.
make full use of and derive benefit from (a resource).
the only posible way it could be call an exploit it if they didnt want those spawned mob to give experience or drop and forgot about it. And there is no blizzard dev here so i guess we will have to wait and see, and like allways they wont call this an exploiit and no one will get banned for doing this.
ya fine you are right you can call this an exploit, replace every exploit i said by illegal exploit then
still dont understand why people keep complaining about afk farming but crying when they fixed the shard of hate or any other bug that was greatly advantaging some player.
Who cares about getting banned when the account wa leveled and geared up by afking? Lmfao
What the fuck?
What the hell would the point be then? Spending $60 every other week for a new account just to watch it burn to ashes?
More like months or even years. People who have botted for more than a year 24/7 are still not getting banned.
How do you know this? Honest question.
Sounds to me like you're just under the impression that botters don't get banned, despite the numerous ban waves that are posted. To say that your quote above is anecdotal would be kind.
I read bot forums a lot and banwaves seem few and far between. The most popular bot who I will of course not name nor link to haven't had a big banwave since december 2012 apparently.

Why do you read bot forums?
Sad thing about bots, you really can't ever stop them. They do get banned though, but the tide is relentless.
I think its really funny how the OP gets info on these exploits/farming methods on a popular exploit forum, then makes a video explaining how to do them, and in turn posting said exploits/methods on a more popular general forum site for the game. I can only assume hes just trying to hype up his youtube channel really. He's not posting it here to notify blizzard, obviously, and can assume hes not posting it on the official forums either. But the fact of the matter is, that it makes no sense to publicize an exploit/method more than it already is. If OP is actually using said method, he's just hurting himself and potentially getting it nerfed/fixed/changed/etc even faster.
TL;DR:
Stop leeching from one community to come post in this community and on youtube to self promote yourself. It's hurting the fore mentioned community you stupid fuck.
And inb4 I get bashed for promoting exploiting. I honestly don't care if people exploit or not, it doesn't affect me. I don't care if white mobs give high or low xp, have high or low drop chances, or anything about that. I clear my rifts and kill the mobs in them whether or not each individual mob is as rewarding as another. In my opinion sharing any self beneficial exploit is idiotic anyway as it increases the chances of it getting taken way even faster. Like someone else said in this post, this is a glorified single player game which lets you play with your friends. Someone afk farming isn't going to change your quality life in this game, stop crying.
I don't see why people care that much? Hes showing you an ''exploit'' use it or don't what does it matter? How does someone doing this affect you? Blizzard will fix it, and then you can sleepy soundly at night again. At the end of the day, his video like all the others that people have posted bring the necessary attention to problems such as that..and their fixed.
Move along people...move along.
Did you play Diablo 3 the first 6 months of its release? Do you know what happened? People abused the fuck out of the game. Blizzard hotfixed and "nerfed" so many parts of the game it became down right unplayable. Then people quit. The number of players playing the game were on an record low figure.
Are you referring to perma-smoke screen DH's? Or unkillable 0 vit wizards? Or maybe the people dying in A4 letting the quest npc kill elites for them for A4 loot (since loot back then was act based and a3 and a4 was ilvl 63 and a1 and 2 were lower)? That didn't need to be fixed whether people exploited it or not? Come on think for a second here. Those fixes didnt make the game unplayable. Wait, maybe youre referring to people goblin farming or chest farming. People in general are always going to look for the most efficient way to obtain items in the game. So sorry Blizzard has taken away the methods they think are "too easy".
Don't know what you think was unplayable about the game. The available gear and potential to progress was low to impossible but it wasnt made unplayable by fixing exploits or abusive methods of farming. Fixing said problems just prevented people from progressing that only earned their gear or achievements by "chessing" the game or exploiting something.

Then blizzard started patching, introducing new things and people started playing again. But becouse of all the malicious behaviour from some people who did not want to play the game, but wanted to cheat it, the game was destroyed. Yeah sure, you can blame blizzard all you want. But if these assholes had not been around there wouldnt have been any issues to be "hotfixed".
And the whole part that someone makes a video of a problem so that Blizzard can fix it. While i get the idea behind it, its still a very bad thing to do. There are a proper way of doing it(report it directly to blizzard!) and theres the not so proper way of doing it to. Instead of making the entire community want to try out these exploits for themselves. Just like the AH gold dupe shit that surfaced, if someone would have reported it to blizzard through the proper channels instead of streaming it there probably wouldnt have been such a big deal.
People with their logic that shit like this doesnt affect anyone of us at all is so stupid it hurts. It affects us all, wether you want to believe it or not.
Personally, I think you're WAY overreaching. OP game-breaking and wholly unintended mechanics/glitches ruin a game when they persist, not when these matters are corrected.
Even through all my bitching about D3, I quickly recognize it as one of the most polished games of it's genre.

So stupid it hurts? Well people have a choice in the matter, they can choose to do the exploit or they don't. The game has been full of giant exploits, aka the big money grab when the gold dupe happened. Yeah it fucked up a lot of stuff but keep in mind at the end of the day people had a choice..they either participated or they didn't. These videos are not even in the same realm as the huge ass exploits when the game was first released or the gold one..so you're comparing apples to oranges.
People do report it to the proper channels, but do you really think when you report it to blizzard via phone/email or even on the forums, that support guy is running down the hallway, tripping over shit and bumping into people to tell the higher up ''HOLY SHIT WE GOTTA FIX THIS RIGHT MEOW?!'' ...yeah no it's not happening.
These videos help and they hurt, but in the end blizzard finds out either way. It's not like they don't check the forums and monitor shit like that..it just takes time.
In terms of it affecting us all, in this instance..and like a lot of the other ''afk farming videos'' no it really doesn't affect anyone expect the people who used the exploit. If these videos never were made and nobody shared their exploits, the world would keep on turning. You're blowing up way out of proportion.
edit: The only thing I'll agree with is the manner in which they often try to quickly patch things or hotfix them, its often sometimes really lazy or really fucking retarded..but that's blizzard. In this instance at this point the game is fairly polished enough that such an expolit as this any fix really isn't going to be that bad. I'm sure they'll either adjust the range on the summoners as the quick fix that way you can't just farm in the doorway without getting attacked.
People with their logic that shit like this doesnt affect anyone of us at all is so stupid it hurts. It affects us all, wether you want to believe it or not.
I don't believe it, and saying "it does" is proof of nothing. Tell me how it affects me.

This may sound strange, but I actually hate these AFK leveling/exploit-ish things too. I make these videos, thoroughly explain how it works, some people take advantage of it, most probably don't and it gets nerfed quickly. It's kind of a win-win for everyone in my eyes.
You're just, like 99% of people doing "videos", fishing for youtube money by whatever means you can manage.
Couldnt have said it better myself. Making a well detailed video explaining how to do it and posting on several forums that ARENT official blizzard bug forums, is not getting it fixed. Its getting the info out to as many people as possible before it gets fixed. Greedy asshole searching for youtube hype.
It's pretty obvious that this method isn't intended and I'm about 99% sure that it will be nerfed sooner than later. Just because something isn't intended doesn't necessarily mean that it's an exploit however. Most people who do "exploit" don't get banned for it, duping 2 billion gold multiple times and crashing the AH and also RMAH is on a completely different level than sitting in one place over night killing rats and getting a few legendaries.
I understand that you might not agree with me, you don't have to. I'm not looking for your acceptance and I'm not looking for your approval.
I can sit here and argue with you all day and night whether this farming method is indeed breaking the EULA or not but at the end of the day it doesn't matter. I have my reasons for thinking what I think, and you have yours. If you don't like the method I'm using in the video, don't use it.

When you play Diablo for 6+ hours per day you tend to lose your sense of perspective. Didn't you know? Diablo is srz bsnz and leveling quickly has serious ramifications (which no one can articulate, but they exist!)
duping 2 billion gold multiple times and crashing the AH and also RMAH is on a completely different level than sitting in one place over night killing rats and getting a few legendaries.
No it's not.
AFK farming SHOULD result in bans, without question, because this game is CLEARLY not designed to reward players who are AFK - just the same as the RMAH was never designed to allow you to dupe gold - the INTENTIONS of the developers matter whether or not you want to believe they do. It's asinine to argue that it doesn't hurt anyone because it adds server stress due to thousands of people (or more) holding games open 24/7. We know exactly what it did to the D2 servers. I don't want the D3 servers to turn out like that. We have enough to worry about with this asinine net neutrality bullshit.
If you want a game that rewards you for being AFK try ProgressQuest. But stop trying to make it sound like it's perfectly OK to get all sorts of items and XP for specifically NOT playing the game. That's absolutely an exploit and anyone who is arguing against it is blinded by their own stupidity and or cynicism to understand such a very simple concept.
Play = rewards.
AFK = no rewards.
Go AFK in New Tristram in a single-player game for 30 minutes. See what rewards the game gives you. That's exactly the rewards you're supposed to get for AFKing. Anything beyond that should result in a ban. Period. End of story. Don't be a moron.
I make it simple. I just ticket the GM and link you and your account to them and ask whats their stance on this will be. Lets just wait for official point of view.
Considering that its planning to include ladder down the road, I wont exactly in any sane mind classify it as a singleplayer game.
That being said, once ladder is out they probably wont be as forgiving as they are at this stage.
But then again, leave it to Blizzard to decide on what they plan to do for this.
what? ''I won't exactly classify it as a single player game."" wtf does that even mean.
ladder doesn't change any aspect of the game outside of creating another environment where based upon what they stated will have ladder specific items, achievements, and a leader board or something tied to people who hit 70/difficulty/experience/whatever.
As far as being ''forgiving'' or not, it has nothing to do with time frames or if the specific GM is in a good mood or not, if they determine AFK farming is an offense that is bannable..they'll do it..or they might just suspend anyone or hell they may do nothing at all but fix the problem.
