I mean what's the point of playing RoS after you have beaten the game in all difficulty levels with all characters? At least right now in D3 you can sell stuff for money. I would think that Blizzard likes the rmah.... Don't they make good money off of it? Bad business if you ask me. OK ok, you might bring up the ladder that's going to come up. But you get nothing for being on top. Thoughts?
...Is this for real?
I thought I had seen everything.....
Welcome to the internet
Really though, it was never a problem for people enjoying previous Diablo (or other Blizzard) games. If people were only playing D3 to try and make a quick buck from the AH, then I'm glad they've got rid of it. The players that play the game purely to try and make money from it are the ones the community doesn't need IMO.
Yea people who play and enjoy the game for fun are the ones blizzard should cater toward. I can't seem to understand why someone would play Diablo 3 just for money and decide now that the RMAH is gone you are no longer able to continue playing.

Because playing for money is the antithesis of fun. What's the point of playing an RPG when I'm giving away all my character's progression?
This
So they can't have fun if they sell items they no longer need? ok.
They can but you see people are jerkoffs. In general people like to use things to their advantage, and as such some douchebag people will come along and say "Wow, I can make money off of a game LOLOLOLOL" Then they'll proceed to look for ways to cheat the game and get a lot of good items quick. Then they'll sell said items without ever actually working for them... Thus flooding the market with the really good items. Since the market will be flooded people will buy these items and then in order to maintain rarity among the items Blizzard would have to decrease drop rates of said items. Because of this it will make it very hard to find said items on your own and therefore people will play and never see said items drop. This will then in turn ruin the game for a lot of people who don't see said drops. And thus concludes our story of why this is a horrible idea and blizzard has neve- ... oh ehrm wait ... Where have I heard this before? Hmmm ... i know this story from somewhere, but it's just not ringing any bells ... could you help me out with this one?

People in 3rd world countries could do really good money from this. You can make more money in a month than the average wage, so yeah some people think that this should be in. And people who I know, who did this, didn't play the game for fun, had no idea what diablo is all about(they kinda disliked grinding, when it's the main idea of such game), and only did it cus of the money. They did not even like D3, well it was kinda disappointment anyways.

All true. And Blizzard did what they thought to be best solution, knowing they can't change human behaviour, so they offered safe heaven for sellers and buyers along. If there is potential money to be made, then it will be made, especially in those countries that average one dollar for hour wages.
So what you're saying is ruin the fun, and let people in africa... you know what never mind. I'm not even going to respond to your statement other than to say you have exceeded every level of stupid on my stupid-meter and have ventured into absolutely-mentally-challenged-and-significantly-more-retarded-than-a-down-syndrome-child-on-meth territory. Please bring your stupid elsewhere.

In my opinion, there shouldn't have been a RMAH in the first place.

Oh, I'm sorry Murica, is only Africa considered 3rd world? You are so ignorant, but then again, murican.
Lmao the fact that you took Africa out of that and made a straw man argument is so pathetically moronic. It could be any 3rd world country. Africa came to mind first considering it's the one most talked about. Should I talk about the poor in America then. The ones who can't even find a job. Who don't even make a dollar per hour? Would this satisfy your need to be PC?... Geez give me a break and get off that high horse.

So you feel smarter after that sentence? You should direct your clear anger issues toward Blizzard, not us, as we don't make decision about how this game is made.
... Did you even read what I wrote. No really go back and read it. Then go back and reread what you said. Then reread it some more please and see the obvious fallacy in your statement.
NVM, I'll draw it with big crayon colors so you can understand.
You clearly have some issues and you should follow your own suggestion, me and DeAdLiNebg only said what we have observed in- and off game. Yet you decide to jump on walls and rage on.
Hmmm, I really don't know what to say. I'm just trying to explain how stupid it is to think that there should be some sort of RMAH, In any game. I mean honestly let's be real here and think about it. You ruin the game because people would just be douches and bot thus ruin the actual drop rate because Blizzard would want to maintain rarity. So there are essentially two options here. A and B let's look at them for a second.
A) Option A consists of them reducing the drop rate, making people who actually play the game and don't bot extremely frustrated due to the lack of item find. It makes the game less enjoyable and boring. This also in return means that it's indeed even harder for the bots to find items because hey they actually have to farm longer, thus the botters get less money, or rather less purchases with a better Price per Purchase. So option A is pretty much shitty but the only good way to make sure the integrity of finding an item is worth something. This is pretty much what happened to Diablo and we see how it ruined the experience. That is based off of not only many peoples observations within and without the game including but not limited to Me, Blizzard, Most Gaming Journalist, and almost half the people on this forum that are highly active(Note: I'm not saying the entire forum so don't say I'm making a broad generalization of my experience and tacking it onto other people.)
Option B has them do nothing to the drop rate. They leave the drop rate what it is. Everyone finds Items pretty decently and everyone is happy. There's no real use of the RMAH besides gearing new characters, but the time taken to gear characters would be minimal thus resulting in a "Why would I buy this, when I can just play the game for a day and be geared just as well" scenario. This in turn means that the RMAH is for the most part useless and pointless and botters and people who just want to make money are now making nothing because there's no real reason to buy items or anything they're selling. So basically this would be pretty okay for people, but it'd ruin the economy real fast due to the over abundance of items and the therefore uselessness of said items.
See there is an inherent problem with the AH, not just in this game but in any game, if it uses real money. It automatically means people are drawn to it for the sole reason to make money. Their influence on the economy is great and can quickly ruin the experience for everyone. Although, sure it sounds like a great idea to make money off this fun cool game we play, it's stupid to assume a poor person from a 3rd world country would have our priorities. I mean they literally have nothing. They work to just barely survive, and that's saying a lot because some of them don't even survive. So to say sure they could use it to make more than their dollar per hour is to disregard the fact that their priority is probably work for 14-16 hours a day just so they can go to the "store" or what have you and buy a single meal to split between a bunch of people. Yet you somehow think they have access to a working computer, that can run diablo or any game decently enough to play/bot and then have enough of a monthly salary to then pay for the internet that goes with it and the game. Really? The investment is a few months of time for a kid in america, let alone a kid in a 3rd world country. The investment to them is probably the equivalent of a 16 year old in america who just got his first job for 7.25/hour or whatever the minimum wage is and trying to save to buy a house in full. They really have nothing. Just thought I should point that out for you.

To say that RMAH was good because poor people could make some money is a bit ridiculous. Truly poor people can't afford broadband and a gaming PC, nor can they afford buying the game.
That's why their boss provides them such amenities at an office.
This is not a thing in subsistence living regions, but it is a real thing in urban China.

Well, to start off they DIDN'T make good money off the rmah. At the 1 year anniversary where they revealed player numbers, they stated that over 1 million people still played daily, with over 3 million playing at least once per month. How many of those people used the RMAH more than once every great while? And Blizzard got what, $1 for every RMAH trade?
People hating the RMAH and quitting > Some money from RMAH, and luckily Blizzard realized this.
