I'm not surprised. People who actually thought they would implent pvp in RoS have done some serious wishful thinking.
Well I think most people had their hopes up because of all the PVP stuff that has been data-mined since the announcement of RoS and there really hasn't been a definitive answer to it's possible implementation in RoS until this interview. I was actually one of those who thought they might be saving the announcement of PVP for Blizzcon or some other big event. That way they space out the news to keep that hype train a' comin' all the way until release.
I think a lot of players will get infuriated and disappointed for this. Specially after what we all watched a couple of years ago.
Lucky me I couldn't care less about PvP.

I can't stop reiterating this.
You can't put all trust in datamined information.
1. Blizzard does not acknowledge datamined information. As such, they announce news at BlizzCon that could have been news had the info not been spoiled weeks beforehand via datamining.
2. Features, big and small, are constantly changing behind the scenes. When a feature's not concrete, they're not going to publicly state that it'll be released with RoS. There's content in the demo RoS that the devs never mentioned, and that's because the features aren't set in stone. Hence all the "Not ready to answer yet," "Can't talk about it" and "We're thinking about it" responses.
Not that I don't want people to hype themselves up from datamined info. The BlizzCon attendees who never spoiled themselves with datamined info got a much more worthwhile experience. It's like you're reading the entire plot summary of a movie before watching the movie for the first time.

It's very true that we spoil our own fun, no arguments there. I just believe people are concerned that it's almost been two years since release of D3 and they still have no clue as what to do with PVP (or maybe they do and they saving it for next X-Pac, which could be a MAJOR selling point). That and the fact that most of the data-mined info has been confirmed as true so far. In my opinion I believe they are making the right, albeit slow decision to fix the game as it stands now by giving us a better loot system, better PVE experience, and an awesome endgame. I do believe PVP will come eventually but I'm not holding my breath anymore. It will come when it comes.
Maybe I should've been more specific when talking about acknowledgment. I mean they're not going to confirm datamined info/features as truth unless they fully intend to make it a feature, e.g. Mystic functions. Not once has Blizzard publicly pointed out datamined info on their own unless people specifically ask them about datamined changes that may or may not be in the current iteration of RoS. And even then, it's often a non-answer given the rapid changes going behind the scenes.
It's like, here, we know datamined info exists. Interpret it however you want. But since it's not official, we're not treating it as such and therefore we're going to go about our business as if datamined info is nonexistent. Note how all the features Blizzard presented at BlizzCon weren't introduced as, "As many of you have already seen on our many, many fan sites (through datamining), this upcoming feature..."
Their reasoning is sound. There was sooooooo much wrong with D3 base, and their resources are much less then say the WoW dev team, it would be difficult to implement everything in one x-pac. Adding PvP would add another 6 months+ to the RoS release. Probably much more. PvP is very hard to balance within a PvE game.

I see the line in the sand. Time to find out who I am. Looking back to see where I stand. Evolution.
PvP and Ladder are somewhat in the same basket. Once the foundation is solid, they can start focusing on that.
Ladder is still confirmed... For now.
Uh, what? The only thing I've heard blue say about ladders was one comment by Travis some time before Blizzcon. And it wasn't even a confirmation that they were putting in a ladder system, but "if we were to do a ladder, this is how it might work". NOTHING about ladders is confirmed.

"Will the skill tuning in recent datamining be coming into the pre-expansion patch?
such as Battle Rage - Into the Fray, Shadow Power - Gloom, and etc."
That's currently the plan, yup. Just keep in mind that datamined information isn't considered final and may actually change quite a bit before making its way into a public build.
Oh Jaetch, you're so cute, sometimes...
Datamined info is not confirmed info. Datamined info that Blizzard later confirms is then confirmed. See how that works?

That's why I said for now. It was data-mined info don't get me wrong, but when they asked Mosqueira about ladders he said that it's a cool feature they are playing around with. He did not say out right that there is no ladder. It is confirmed that they are working on a ladder system and that it has a good chance for to be implemented in RoS.... again for now. Look up some of the interviews at Blizzcon, they have something up their sleeves for sure.
I'm personally not a big PvP person, so it doesn't really effect me that much. I however free very sorry for those that were patiently waiting and expecting PvP with RoS, guess PvP for Diablo 3 is essentially vaporware.
The big question I have though, is on ladders(seasons). I would be very disappointed if they don't have ladders with RoS, not to the point that would prevent me from buying it, but it'll definitely limit my play time with Diablo if it ships without it.
Comparing skill changes to complete game features (like PvP or ladders) is a bit short sighted. Just because they acknowledged minor things like skills or item changes doesn't mean they will acknowledge big features as well. And even if they acknowledge actually working on a certain feature (as they have done), doesn't mean they actually know what they will do with it - which is what people wanna hear about(judging from the Blizzcon feedback).
Specially when we know WHY they can't simply "implement it and see what happens". We know why they're having problems implementing that. Just see the recent Ladder vs Non-Ladder threads, and you'll realize there's at least 3-4 different types of players, each wanting the game to cater to a certain playstyle.
I see all these people asking for PvP and ladders without taking into account the other side. The people who don't care about PvP or who don't wanna be handicapped because they don't wanna compete in ladder. "Oh but just do it and give no incentives/prizes", if there are no incentives (not even e-peen) most people simply won't play it, period. It's wasted development time for a feature almost nobody will use (cough... brawling... cough...)
There's no "easy" solution for everyone. There's the easy solution for "each" person. Just see the backlash from the AH changes and the recently revealed "soulbound items" mechanic.
^^Yeah, well, PvP was supposed to be included at launch, then it was supposed to come in a patch shortly after launch, then in a later patch, then later, then later, then in an expansion, and now it's not even coming in an expansion.
I have zero interest in PvP, but I can sympathise with people that are into it. It's getting a bit ridiculous.
Took the words out of my finger tips.

It seems that PVP is not coming in Reaper of Souls.
Warning!: Most of this stuff is redundant, Their question dodge chance is increased by 100% in this video.

guys, pvp = endgame. please.
