I think it will be there at release, and I think its a good thing. Now that we can join a public game based on a specific quest it's no big deal finding the right game. Honestly if someone kicks me because I've got pink pants on I don't want to play with that child.
Considering the tone of the message... "play nicer next time" do you feel that to kick someone you essentially have to report them? Meaning its not something you can spam...
I found very few things more annoying in WOW than being kicked at the end of a dungeon right before the final boss, just so the other party members friend could join. So unless Blizzard have a full proof method of removing this kind of abuse. Given the incredible difficulty in doing this, I'm against it.
Silly feature. If host doesn't want to risk playing with dbags then play private games. Otherwise this just solves one problem while creating and equally (if not more) large problem.
With no shared loot theres no longer a reason to kick someone for loot. For the most part I think it would be useful for kicking ignorant people, but they are likely to be the party leader.
I can't see Blizzard removing the kick feature at any point. Drops are not shared any more, so loot sharks aren't gonna have an opportunity to pray on the weak and innocent.

Scenario 1:
I own public game playing with RL buddy 1, RL buddy 2, and random player 3. We are about to kill the last boss.
RL buddy 4 logs in... no room in game...
I Boot random player 3
Invite RL buddy 4 so he gets loot off last boss.
While this won't happen incredibly often, it's pretty fail.

Undoubtedly fail, and I can not see any way for Blizzard to make the system fool proof. However, I do think that it is better to have that function than to not have it at all.
Also it will be an integrity issue for the person in the game. Personally I would just finish the quest, and then hop into a game that my RL friend #4 created and help him from there. Also if you have a desired ful group or even two or thee player group it would robably be best to just create a private invite only game.
As I said I do not htink there is any way for them to make it 100% hapy for everyone.
What about kicking people that are lower level that may not contribute as well in the case that someone got their character rushed through areas.
Well the only real "against" it people have seem to have (in this thread) is about the kicking for another friend... most friends will be playing in friend only games o.0. And yes this could still happen now and then... but kicking someone who is just sitting in town spamming... or w/e not helping (while hes maken the monsters harder). We need to be able to kick, its really that simple, it helps more than the few times it will hurt.
Yes because we should all be hindered while in public games by the whims of an asshole.
If someone comes into your public game where you're trying to make friends and work together with people and just starts being rude or spamming, then whoever is hosting needs the right to kick them rather than everyone having to leave the game when 3 of the people were getting along well.

Daemaro speaks the truth. I would rather have the kick feature to be able to get rid of idiots and risk someone kicking me out than not have a kick feature and have an idiot, or a lagger, or someone just AFK in town join the game and screw everyone else. Especially for public games where you might not know the other players, the only option you would have would be to de-party, join a private game and get back to the point you were at. Given the patience of the average gamer, at least from things like SC2 and WoW, that's a burden almost no one will bear, what would happen far more often is everyone just leaving and never seeing those players again.
And that would suck way more than once in a great while getting booted before a boss fight.

Whats great about adding this feature in D3 is that the bosses don't have set loot tables, as in WoW. So even if you were booted from a group for conceptually no reason, the biggest thing you lost was time which could probably be cut down considering waypoints seem to be way more convient this time around.
And as for the pessimist say "oh well, you'll just have to clear that dungeon all over again", duh this is diablo More monsters = more chances of loot(and better gear)
Having a kick feature is the lesser of 2 evils. If you don't have it, you're guaranteed to see a lot of griefing and people can be assholes without even thinking about it, specially when they already have the gear from another character and are just playing to crap on other's games.
Also, given the nature of how partying works, requiring more than 1 vote would be redundant, as the host could be playing with a friend and they could kick you.
If anything, they should add a report option similar to Starcraft 2, if you were kicked unfairly right before or during a boss fight (maybe because they thought you were too weak and wanted a weaker boss/faster boos run) you could report the guys for griefing.
its both good and bad.
there's plenty of children, that gonna kick you for whatever reason. cause you got pink pants, or whatever.
but its good if you could kick assholes that ruin the game.
Ya, those assholes with pink pants ruining my game!

I think that's pretty much the exact reason they ARE adding this feature. Because they want it to be a community; where people work together and those that don't are booted and shunned. People shouldn't be pidgeonholed into playing private games because a few rotten eggs

Everything from the world of Sanctuary
If someone kicks you, you probably shouldn't have been playing together anyway.
This needs to be an option in public games to keep things legit.
or maybe votekick
