posted a message on Playing from 00:01 or... just taking it easy?
Well I'm EST in America so it will be 3:01 a.m. where I am when the servers go up. I'll probably be asleep well before then, I will try to get up at 3 so I can start the install process for the game. Depending on how long that is going to take I may just go back to bed and start playing when I wake up again. If it installs rather quickly, then I'll probably grab something to eat and drink and play till I have to go to work the next day.

I think over time people in here get a sense of how people are personally online through this forum. If we want to play with other people from Diablofans we should just put our battle tag up so people can add us if they like us. You also need to # after your battle tag name so people can add you.

European servers cover smaller number of timezones right? Maybe it was harder to make it fair for everyone using US servers. And considering that Blizzard is quite a large company, which has no interest in favoring one customer over the other, in fact they favor all their customers the same, because they want profit, which cant be made without as much customers as possible. So maybe this was the most fair solution?

Edit: Also we should consider that time is relative. They could have just released the servers at the exact same time across the planet, but then they would start playing at midnight in Japan (example), which is fine, but in Alaska there would be actually almost... yesterday... wow, time-traveling is easy, just cross the date-line mutliple times within 24 hours and you travel into the past! Someone call the Dr. Who, this is confusing.

Also did you know that time is running slower the faster you are traveling (for you)? So the plan is to hop in to the spaceship today, travel to Mars for example at extreme velocity, return back to Earth. For you, only lets say 20 hours has passed, but it would be weeks on earth! So, actually, there IS a way to play Diablo 3 tomorrow, if you have the money... and can survive the extreme acceleration.

Actually, you would need to be traveling at 0.9986139979479093 times the speed of light to get a time dilation of 19 to 1, and you would need 117.82 days on 3 Gs of acceleration to attain that speed, and another 117.82 days on 3 Gs of deceleration to stop again. So even theoretically possible technology couldnt get you the game tomorrow :)

All you really need to do is jump into a wormhole that travels past the sun at the exact time a solar flare is occuring in your path. Now you just need a wormhole generator.

    posted a message on Achievements...
I needed two levels on my WD to get all of the beta achievements done. Then they patched the game and wiped all my characters. :QQ:

    I'm trying again though.

The only one you are unlikely to do without someone helping you on purpose in the beta is rezzing each class.

If you have the cd key for d2 and Lod then you can just put it on your battle.net account and download the game from battle.net

You also see the next recipes you are going to unlock in the next experience boost after each time you pay to upgrade the blacksmith. the name of the recipes are shown in the blacksmith level up tab.
I've recognized that - but what about randomization in general?

Let's say that we have 2 player (Y&Z) which begin to play on release day - will BS(Y) be able to craft the same list of recipes as BS(Z) from start?
Or will it be randomized right from the beginning to diversify the craftable stuff amongst the playerbase?

I'm pretty sure what the blacksmith learns from training is the same for all players in the game. It just makes sense to me. Now each of the items crafted have random attributes so what is crafted is not exactly the same, but the base item is the same.

I have no blue post proof but with each beta reset and with two separate accounts they were always the same each time he was trained.

where do all the barbs come from? wasn't exactly the most popular class in D2

Barbs are simple and whatever they do you always hear the sound of thunder in the distance because they destroy everything with massive attacks.

I played all but the monk so far.

When I first found out all of the classes that would be available for the game I knew I would go with the barb first as it was my main in D2.

After watching a bunch of beta videos I was all about the wizard.

Once I finally got to play the classes(minus the monk, he's next to try) I want to go DH.

DH does not seem to be the most powerful but I love the utility of vault.

Also I felt the wizard was a bit lack luster until I unlocked arcane barrage. Now that was the most entertaining skill they have as it feels like I'm sending out a volley of laser guided missiles.

posted a message on I Miss When Videogames Were Just For "Nerds"
Mainly due to the competition in games now I think you find a lot of "jerks". They are pretty common in the world now and as games have become more openly accepted they have invited a wider range of personalities. The wider range of personality differences create tension even in a virtual world.

That is why I usually prefer co-op games compared to versus. But I still enjoy an mmo game where I can complete things solo, even if it is more difficult that way as long as they are still possible to be done. I never was too fond of people in general.

When I saw that there were so many invites out I got excited and checked my account. As I knew would happen I got on there and there was no beta access. Then I find out my brother got the beta. He opted in after I did so I don't think it is done in the order people opted in. I'll be high jacking his account tonight! :d3d:

I like a little challenge but I wonder if this increased damage is only for the beta to appease the beta testers and it will be reverted back to pre-patch 14 damage for the release. I don't mind dieing for standing in the massive whirldwind but I don't think grandma is going to appreciate it as much, her bones are very brittle these days.

I could be wrong but it seemed to me that the dogs were only 1-shotted when the SK does his triple strike move.
Not that they take too much damage, just that the attack has the property to "banish" summons.

In my last fight vs SK i got away from the boss when launching the event and only went back in after his first attack ... the dogs stayed alive until his next triple strike. So i just had to cast a summon once the have the dogs alive all the fight.

Is it really a banish summon move? If so then that is pretty cool. Would suck for an old Necro army but not too bad for a mini-boss.
(Does not have the beta to check anything himself)
