So I(like most of us I assume lol) have been playing D2 again.
I was playing my new barbarian, them being my favorite class, and I got into nightmare, no big thing right??
Well I happened to talk to Charsi, and heres exactly what she said....
"Ya know I've been with the Sister's for as long as I can remember, but Akara told me that my real parents were Barbarians from the Northern Tribes, and were killed when I was very young.
Sometimes I wonder what my life would have been like if I had been raised as a barbarian.
I don't know. I love being a blacksmith....but sometimes I just want to get out and see the world, ya know?"
Thats very interesting, good thinking. I DOUBT it is Charsi but if it was that would be sick

Its almost 100% not Charsi. its twenty years after that. Why would she still look young? She'd probably be 40-50 by Diablo 3, and the female barbarian does not look like her. I really doubt that you are going to play as any NPC from the other games, anyways.
40-50 isn't old though(ok, not THAT old)....and we have yet to get a very good look at her. They have the same hair color, and both this female, and Charsi are rather on the bulky side for a woman. Not to mention that Charsi never actually says how old she is in D2. For all we know she could have been between 18 and 25, or maybe she was older. We can't really be sure on that.
Plus, we have seen the male barb, and he doesn't really look similar to the D2 one at all, even though it has been stated he is the same guy. Hell, I'll be honest, the only real trigger for me that its the same guy, is the fact that he is older, and has gray hair.
Anyway, they already said that they want each character/class to have their own story, that gets told a little bit through playing the games storyline.....Charsi would be a good candidate imo.
Because any barbarian warrior woman wouldn't be muscular or have the stereotypical fiery hair? As for her being between 18 and 25, that kind of proves that she would be around 40-50 as I said? If she was older, then that makes it even older? Thats not much of a argument for it being her?
As for him being older and grey haired, when he was young and in his prime during d2. . yeah, kind of again, shows that Charsi would have aged. You say 40-50 isn't that old except you don't take into account that its not exactly like modern america. A hard, brutal world would probably lead her to aging.
I must be the only person in the world that doesn't think Charsi would make a very good candidate for the female barbarian. I meen, other then the fact that physically it doesn't match up very well given the time frame, I think it would be kind of boring. Oh hey, I'm a barbarian, who does all this barbarian stuff, but I didn't live with the barbarians. Nope, I lived with the rogues, raised by 'em. I just. . dream learned all their fighting stuff, you know, like in the matrix. I'm totally not one of those barbarians who have been forced from their ancestral home due to the world stone being destroyed and all those demons that just recently started marching from it. Nope, definately not one of those that would make more sense. I'm just the act 1 blacksmith turned super warrior.
I really hope that Circlet wasnt on the naked female barb model. I hope it is a helm cause its fugly on her. I guess you could cover her face with another helm(paper bag). I wont play a female barb anyway but still just look at it.
Charsi has been a blacksmith all her life. I see no reason for her to start learning how to take up arms instead of making them, especially when there was 20 whole years of peace on sanctuary.
40-50 years in a world without advanced medicine is VERY old. Not factoring in the constant stress brought on by hoards of demons which would amplify the aging process
So the female barb is likely a younger lady, possibly early to mid-30's, hmmm...
Well then, I guess the male barb would be the oldest char you can play, unless we have an older mage type character.
Yea, it being Charsi would be neat, but unlikely.

I've met people I thought were around 28 and were 60.
I've met guys aged roughly 20 and look 40.
Being in good shape helps as well. Barb in D2 already sounded about near 40.
Women's hair doesn't gray as fast nor badly.
This entire topic is left at the whim of the devs.
Not something you can discuss with definite terms.

That's all fine and dandy, but wipe away the fact that in the modern age people live 50 years longer than they did in the Dark Ages and you begin to notice that 20 years is a long time. The fact that Cain and the Barbarian are still alive is nothing short of a miracle.
There's a small amount of genetics involved. Of course any child from Barbarian lineage would share physical traits.
But the Barbarians aren't a "race" like an elf or dwarf in other fantasy games. Barbarians are just humans, who have adapted to live in cold harsh climates and have a lifestyle devoted to fighting and training to fight.

The female Barb is someone who has lived her whole life in that culture.
