Oct 4, 2008Veltras posted a message on BlizzCon - Pick the Best Diablofans QuestionsMy question would be: is there going to be a world drop table that is different from the loot we get from bosses and minibosses. Is there going to bePosted in: News
incentive to go around and fight monsters in different areas or is it just going to come down to grinding a couple of bosses with no specific loot tables
at all. In other words, are they going to reward the player for exploring all areas in the game, and are there going to be more specific loot tables so
that casters, for example, know generally where to look for items. Is there going to be a variety in what to kill and what loot to get?

Are lower level skills still going to be useful when we have higher level skills later on in the game? Or will we feel like we need to save our skill points for higher level skills?

Oct 2, 2008Veltras posted a message on Diablo 3 ScavengerPosted in: NewsQuote from "Romak" »*Yeah, night time screenie looks alot like Tristram with all that dark. Don't kill me, but I think the whining about the art actually did something... by 'something' I mean even the tiniest thing.
If by doing something you mean making them post that screenshot... Even though there has been a lot of talking about the graphics I doubt it will change anything. It doesn't take a genius to know that Diablo is supposed to be dark, creepy and gothic. The game is obviously a lot darker that what we have seen so far and there's no good reason to show us the best of it a year before the release. -
Oct 2, 2008Veltras posted a message on Diablo 3 ScavengerI love how these Scavengers quickly come out of nowhere to ambush you after you loot a corpse. It adds extra tension to the game. And it seems from that Blood Guard artwork that the Berzerkers are actually demons mentally controlled by the Triurn, I wonder what happens to them if you kill the guy controlling him.Posted in: News
Quote from "Krow" »Sounds like you'll need a few stamina potions, yes, but I doubt you'll need a health globe to stand there.
I doubt stamina potions will be of any use against them, since there's no more stamina lol
Quote from "Jackzor" »Good stuff. Pretty bamf how they dig themselves outta the stomach of that thing haha. Next up, blizzcon.
What there's already just one week left before Blizzcon? Where does the time go?
So many demons so little time... -

Looking at how Blizz is working on monsters mechanic I think you should be more worried about what skill you'll need to use to get it to unburrow. -
Sep 18, 2008Veltras posted a message on Diablo 3 Bestiary: Dune ThresherPosted in: NewsQuote from "Gaia942" »hopefully they won't make that desert place act 2 otherwise ill shoot someone
From how things look right now I'd say that's how Act 2 will begin, but since Caldeum is just next to Ureh I think it will end up looking quite different. -

Very well, I predict that in a near future you will be able to make town portals only while being out of combat. I Never understood why the monsters didn't follow you back to town lol. -
Sep 13, 2008Veltras posted a message on Diablo 3 Won't Have Locked ChestsAnother obvious move but it's always good to hear that Blizz knows what they're doing.Posted in: News
I still hope there's going to be locked doors and chests but only quest related, so that you have to go explore other areas of the dungeon and kill more monsters to find the key. -
Sep 6, 2008Veltras posted a message on Skovos not accessible in Diablo IIIWith Ureh and Zayl present in the game, it's pratically guaranteed that we'll see an Underground Necromancer city.Posted in: News
Jay said that there would be more than one town per act and that we would get to have some nice surprise and seeing that Caldeum is pretty close to Ureh... -
Sep 6, 2008Veltras posted a message on Diablo 3 Outdoors are not Random GeneratedAnother thought on static environment. What did people do in most outdoor areas? They skim the edge of the maps until they found that little passage that leads to the next zone (maiinly true for act 1, 2 and 4). As for the other acts, well they all go in straight line anyway. Looks like randomness of graphics never brought that much to Diablo in most outdoor areas after all. Of course for those who still don't get it chests and enemies are still random along with quests and possibly NPCs.Posted in: News

Sep 6, 2008Veltras posted a message on Skovos not accessible in Diablo IIIPosted in: NewsOriginaly posted by me:
Anyway from what I gathered from this video, Skovos is an Island where a secluded society known as the Iskari lives (not sure of spelling). This society was apparently built by an Angel and her lover who is actually human and they are also the ancestors of both the Rogues and the Amazon.

On another note we've been waiting for Blizzcon since when? the WWI? What are we going to be waiting for after Blizzcon when we'll realize that we are still thirsting for more Diablo news. Halloween? Christmas? You better savor this last week because I have a feeling we won't be hearing anything for a long while after that.

That's odd, I played D1 again last year and didn't have any problem with healing. There's always a healing scroll/book/staff that drops somewhere and combined with the few potions you find I never had any problem and I went through the whole game 3 times with every class, and that's aside all those times I played before.
Oh, and when you get to hell Pepin starts selling an infinite number of full rej pots, so combined with the healing spell it gives you virtually infinite life and mana.
Getting back on topic though, I think the devs are just taking logical step in the evolution of the franchise, and in the end we're just going to get the best D3 possible and if it turns out to be crap then so be it, go back playing D2.

1) Can easily be solved by setting monsters' AI so they don't go into these zones, and when a player goes in one of them then they would go back from where they came from
2) Maybe they could give monsters extra health regeneration while they're out of combat
