They already said Diablo 3 will not use DirectX 10.....
Which really doesn't matter to me in the end because I think DirectX 10 as it stands right now is over rated.
It sais that Blizzard made a deal with AMD for using DX10.1 for their newest games. So it could be Diablo 3 is one of them. There isn't any source that proves that this conclusion is wrong

wrong. if you watched the QnA panel you would have seen them say that diablo3 will not require DX10
Yeah i won't require it. But lord of the rings and age of conan also don't require DX10 :). But it looks WAYS better with it Do you otherwise have the gateway/adress of the panel which sais that..?
dx10 ftl, the games in development for 4 years now. its probably to old and they probably didnt design their engine around dx 10 either. its probably for their next-gen mmo.
"Piracy and console-only development of some big franchises, is the PC market in trouble?
I think the PC is incredibly healthy. It's all about making great games. If you make great games I genuinely believe people will want to play. We've heard all the doom and gloom about the PC for years. The analysts are wrong. Go back and read the reports from three or four years ago and see how much they get wrong. We are never chasers of technology and we make our games with a low barrier to entry. Our games run fine on older PCs which makes us much more competitive then those companies that make their game accessible only to owners of very high-end PCs. It's a focus of ours to make the specs as low as possible. This makes us figure out how to make the best with less. We work intelligently to make things happen on lower specced machines."
from the graphics we've seen there is no need at all for DX10, it would be useless, would make the game run slower, with more system reqs, and would gain absolutely nothing.
since the graphics arent realistic, dx9 is more then enough.
DX10 isn't slow
It's Vista that's clogging it. And for now dx10 is Vista only. If anything - DX 10 or 10.10 on fair grounds with dX 9 will beat it.
You gain nothing? DX 10 doesn't ask for more physical requierments. It's just that newer games need better hardware in able to run their great number of calculations which are based on Dx10. If they were based on Dx9 you'd see the same lag.
You're blaming the evolution of hardware for why your system might be slow and just making up excuses.
I'm really struggling to understand what your whole point was. The last sentence really troubled me: 'since the graphics aren't realistic, dx9 is more then enough'
Again you're making an excuse for them. Maybe they should lose the music and use just beeps or cut down on the colors so we can use dX7 ? Then we'll say it's just about the gameplay. It is in no way just the gameplay that makes great games.
To end it- games do look better on Dx10. maybe you think the difference is small - I don't.
I'm not singling you out in any way biff, it's just that people have becone overly complacent. Now they're saying they don't really care what D3 turns out to be. Some dudes are even blaming for troubling Blizz and not giving them respect for what they've done so far.

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees

It makes their job easier for them as they obviously don't have good 3d artists all the while they grab money from people with all kinds of PCs mainly on popularity from their previous successes.
If the point was to make a game playable, then tetris is the best game ever. It will run on everything.

Diablo3 wont use DX10 for two very simple reasons.
1. Blizzard want everybody to be able to play diablo3, so they are not going to make it demaning on hardware at all. Its going to be very much like wow in that sense. You can play wow in windows, osx and even in LINUX and they probably want the same with diablo3.
2. Its going to be release for both windows and OSX. and that means that they are not using DirectX at all probably but OpenGL because this transcends all Operatingsystem unlike DirectX.
If you want alot of people to play your games on different platforms, using directx is just going to be alot of extra work without any benefits at all.

- so the man with a weak pc muses to say.

His post was perfectly reasonable. He simply stated with the current GFX dx10 would not be necessary, and the more sophisticated gfx engine would actually bog down a lower end computer.
Here you contradict yourself completely.

better hardware=more phys requirements. or did you think dx10 was hardware? dx10 is software buddy, hardware is stuff like a cpu, a mobo, hdd, ram etc. i wont even touch the rest of your post... all i can say is octofail!

What he was obviously saying was that while DX10 won't run on an old card, on a card that supports it, DX10 in Vista will run faster than DX9 in Vista.
I'm not sure I agree, but he wasn't really contradicting himself.

This means Blizzard will make a game, maybe Diablo 3, with DX10.1 support/graphics..
What aee you people think about it....?
They already said Diablo 3 will not use DirectX 10.....

btw I don't like Vista, takes too much memory.

cmon people, get up to date. They said no dx10.

Did they said it would not require DX10 or DX10.1
or
did they say that the game will not have a DX 10 mode?
Big mistake by Blizzard again if they don't aquire newer technologies.
I'm feeling really awful inside right now.

They just stated directly in the Dev Q&A that it won't require DX 10.
Thanks anyway.
