i just hope that if by some off chance they did add that AI diff char control stuff in the new game which sounds cool, that they don't let it be in PvP... cuz plenty of people don't necessarily want to control more things than their own char and the way wizz explained it, sounds like it would be a pretty big advantage against other players. not to mention it would cause all sorts of hell for blizz to balance every char and their helper possibilities out...
oh and also i really hope they keep the slow scrolling audio from the npc's whenever you get a new quest or just listen to gossip... i think it creates more of a connection between the gamer and the world
Heaven would clearly entail doing good quests and helping people, wheras Hell would entail doing evil deed quests and hurting people and Neutral would be taking both sides quests by choice, but you would only be allowed to take certain quests for both sides as a neutral player.
CLASSES
Personally, i'd like the original 7 Classes, but a complete redo of Spells, and also some revamping of the appearance of armour etc.
''May the Gods give you the strength and power to bear the madness which flows through our minds.''
''Zubin, I've always imagined you as a crazy raver. The kinda guy that spends all night dancing to trance music while waving glow sticks and popping ecstasy.'' - Murderface
I dont like the idea of being able to choose your side. I dont care how they make the game as long as its good has a good story line and you go down into hell to fight the lord of terror. I like the idea of switching their spells sience i hate expansion and woudent mind having spells switched around. (oh they need to make it nearly impossible to beat)

You need only just ask
Characters: Heavenly Warrior-A man who has a angel mother and a mortal man as parents. He fights with light and great strength with attacks that deal with life and light. He also has powers to heal and has attacks like Holy Sword (makes sword stronger against enemies), Holy Armor (raises defense on shield, armor, boots, etc.), and Charge (old attack from Diablo 2).
Sorcerer-Very much like the sorcerers/esses in Diablo 1 and 2. This man has the power to conjure ice, lightning, fire, and earth (a new one). The lightning, fire, and ice are pretty much the same but earth is a new skill area. It has attacks like Earthquake, Spike, Earth Wall (enchances shield), Fissure, etc.
Hell Mage-A man that has been trained in the Dark Arts. He can raise skeletons, mages, Black Golems (demonic golem type guy), and Soul Implantation (can put himself inside another creature like the Venom Lord or Carver).
Archer-Trained to use the bow and arrow, the woman has the ability to strike down her opponent from a distance. Her attacks include Death Arrow (an arrow that explodes in your face and keeps you immobile for a second or two), Speed Increase, and Charge-up (lets her charge up her attacks so they do more damage.
Priest-Knowing the bible by heart, he is mastered in Enchancement attacks. He has auras like Increase Damage, Holy Fire/Ice/Lightning/Poison, and Enchant with Fire/Ice/Lightning/Poison and Prayer (weakens enemy attacks while makes yours/party's stronger). He also uses attacks like Heavenly Fire and Fist of Heavens (old paladin attack from Diablo 2), and Rock Gaze (damages them by immobilizing them).
Naturist-Like a druid from Diablo 2, this guy uses elemental skills to attack enemies. The attacks include Twister (takes off defense for a couple seconds), Parasites (poison attack and, in dueling, let's you see their gear and inventory), and Vine Trap (like bone prison except with vines).
Stalker-A woman who was raised in the jungle and has to use stalking and hunting skills to hunt prey and intruders. Attacks include Disappear (go invisible for a second or two), Lunge (lunge with spear to make attacks stronger), Blind (makes enemies not see for a few seconds), Spear Stab (a very strong and quick attack that stabs enemies in the head), Crawl (go by groups of enemies very fast and very quielty so they don't see you), and Slash (slashes with claws repeatedly and very fast).
War Captain-A man trained to work with swords, axes, and maces. He has very high life and strength and is a very deadly enemy. Attacks include Leap Attack(like the barbarians), Quadrouple Weapons (this isn't a skill, he can just have's it from the beginning) (Allows you to hold two weapons and two knifes at once). War Commander (Boosts your, and everyone else's, confidence and adranaline making their attacks stronger, their life and mana and stanima higher, attack rating higher, and sttack speed better), and Whirlwind (like the old attack from Diablo 2 except for being able to leap when in whirlwind form)
Weapons:
Death Hammer (War Captain Weapon): It is known that only demon warlords had this hammer. But when a mortal slayed one of them and stole this weapon, he learned its secrets and began to make more of them. This weapon is a very big maul that can only be wielded if one has great strength and very skilled. Damage around 500-700 normal.
Destructor: The original Death Hammer that the great mortal found. This Death Hammer that does 1400-1800
damage and has plus 40 to all resistances and plus 5 to
all skills.
Holy Book (Priest Weapon): The new character class called the priest will have this "weapon". It gives bonuses to priest skills, like a sorceress orb in Diablo 2. It is also gives automatic shielding to the priest and is always indestructable.
Tal Rasha's Aid: Possibly owned by Tal Rasha himself, it has bonuses like Level 10 Holy Shock and Ice when equiped and plus 5 to all skills.
Demon Hands (Hell Mage Weapon): For the hall mage, this is his main weapon. Not only having high and dark damage (around 500-900 damage plus around 1000 when adding Black Magic), it has many bonuses to it and makes you have a dark glow the better the quality the demon hands are.
Belial's Claws: As a Hell Mage, this is your greatest treasure. It is a
deadly weapon that does 1200-1400 damage and has
plus 5 to all skills on it.
Biorbial Staff (Sorcerer Weapon): This is a very unique staff that has magical orbs on both ends of the staff (bi=two and so there are two orbs in a biorbial staff). Not can it fire two attacks at once, if a enemy comes to close, the sorcerer can spin this weapon creating a wave of ice or fire or lightning or earth (depends on what the staff says on it).
Eyes of Heaven: Unique Biorbial Staff that adds plus 3 to random elemental skills and plus plus 5 to all skills that also has around 500 random spin damage that knocks an enemy back a couple feet.
Triblade Sword (Heavenly Warrior Weapon): A sword that as three blades on it allowing the Heavenly Warrior to attack from one blade and have Holy Attacks come from the other two.
Angel's Blade: Unique version of Triblade Sword that has Level 15 Holy Sword on it already and has plus 5 to all skills. It
also includes Regenerate Health 50% on it.
Gripper (Stalker Weapon): A spear that has a metallic hand on the back of it and a spear point on the front of it. It allows the Stalker to attack with the spear point and then grab the enemy with the metallic hand to make them come to you and then hit them again with the spear point.
Hell's Wound: A very powerful Gripper that does 1000+ damage and its grabber stuns enemy for .5 seconds. It also has plus
5 to all skills on it.
Vine Whip (Naturist Weapon): As the naturist wanders around the forests and learns its secrets, it came across this weapon to get rid of intruders. This weapon automatically poisons an enemy when it hits them and also has a very large attack distance which stuns the enemy for .5 seconds.
Azmodan's Whip: A very large and destructive Vine Whip that tears
enemies apart. This weapon also has level 15
parasite on it and has level 10 Heart Ripper (attack
which does very heavy damage but only on one
enemy) and plus 5 to all skills.
Javelin Bow (Archer Weapon): A bow that not only can launch two arrows at once, but also has the ability to launch javelins from it causing very heavy damage on individual enemies.
Kashya's Aid: From Diablo 2 Act 1, this weapon was Kashya's until
stolen from her by demons. Ashamed, she never told
anyone about this mystical bow that has been lost for
centries for her whole life. Only by finding the demon
who stole it, you can gain this Javelin Bow that has
plus 5 to all skills and adds 600 random elemental splash
damage and level 20 charge up on it.

hey im new to this forum. i heard diablo 3 was coming out sometime soon. its been like 3 years since i last googled it but i saw the trailer on youtube and got really excited....ive read most of the threads and posts so far and have only one discrepency with the new ideas and that is...........
With the PvP ideas....i consider myself to be a loyal veteran diablo 2 player in its hayday and one of the things that drew me to the game the most was the rush of battling another player without cause or forwarning. When that red skull at the top of my screen turned red and an organ played some creepy ditty i got that adrenaline rush.. the same one that comes with completing a quest or finding a unique item...it was unexpected, and was the opitomy of highs and lows in the game. if you killed ur attacker HOORAY an ear and gold, if not @#$%@#$@#$ i gotta go get my body or just reconnect. just like a great game should be. players should still lose exp good ear id even wanna wear a necklace made of noses around my neck that gave me some sort of power if i were a dark character (told you i read). either way having random pvp attempts and hostiling players is the only thing that would keep me intensely attracted to the game. but there is a solution!!!!
i purpose that you keep the pvp hostile box without having a tradelike agreement to battle. i mean common we are battling demons in heaven and hell keep that life and death edge. limit the players you can hostile to players around your characters level but dont allow naked kills or something when someone dies because having to dodge and weave out of a pkers way naked is demoralizing i know...PLZ PLZ PLZ take this into consideration i spent alot of time scrutinizing the game from what was posted looking for how the pvp i loved so much in diablo 2 would be and was so disconcerned that this crucial game concept would be left out i had to register and post. i play css (counter strike) religously and am eagerly awaiting a new pvp game i explore with the same edge.
Diabo2 is not all about PvP. I dont really like PvP i just like playing the game and killing diablo. I rarley PvP i dont really like killing other people unless their ass holes. I do like the organized PvP think you sugjusted though make it so you have to agree to a duel so them assholes dont come in the game hostil you kill you. Where do you get the idea we are battling demons in heaven and hell? It could be that way if Tyreal was evil but I highly doubt tyreal will be the main boss in diablo3

Player Char
-choose male/female => choose class => choose faction
heaven or hell, faction determines whether your char is light or dark, eg Paladin or Anti-Paladin (anti is kinda like the reverse, anti does not work for all classes some just have a good or bad version, where the good and bad versions arent complete opposites like the barb)
-some form of customization like colours of armor and if it’s 3D, body size, hair colour, facial hair and the like
-characters age (but not as quickly as in Fable), at the top of the character record it makes the chars seem more real, mages classes of course start with a higher default age than warrior classes and priest classes
-characters to have a voice so they aren’t just the emotional zombies they were in the previous games, only saying something if inventory full or every 12 stages or so (you can import a voice if u wants to)
-definitely no races, definitely no vampires, half human/half something stupid, elves, fairies, cyborgs, metahumans, killer robots from the future, gnomes, goblins, trolls, dwarves, orcs, half human/half something stupid (Half Breeds/hybrids) as a playable character like some people want, diablo is humans only, always has, always will (god I hate people who want these things, go play WOW or DND if you want these things)
-the ability to sheath weapons (put weapons away), and not just remove items for your char, I mean more like pressing ‘w’ and you don’t have anything on the other slots
-if you fall just short of the strength requirement (5-10 under) of a weapon you can still use it but you drag it and use two hands to swing it, like the skeletons in act 5 (would be cool/funny)
-every class should be able to dual wield two small weapons, up two small sword, at the same time (daggers, dirks, Kris you know the small ones)
-if you are evil (faction Hell), or a thief class, you can attempt to steal items from shopkeepers (click button next to repair)
-higher max char level
-near the top of the char record page, should be your chars religion, ‘High Heavens’, ‘Burning Hells’, ‘None’ or ‘something else’, factions may dictate this.
-mage type chars look like they are wearing cloaks rather than armor, similar to how they like when they aren’t wearing armor, (it looks kinda stupid when the only difference between a barb and a necro is their size)
-there is a character page which shows what your char looks like with all his items on, 3D and zoomed in (most likely the inventory page)
-every class could start in a different location
-more small unique details between the chars or char types, like how Druids gain a speed bonus when using a maul, and similarly Barbs with axes, they could, if it isn’t already in d2, implement something like mage classes have slightly fast casting times than priest or warrior classes also an unarmed warrior class should do more damage than an unarmed priest or mage class, currently I think they all do the same unless you have really high strength
-characters names should be extended to up to 20 characters instead of 15, and you should be able to use spaces also you should be able to use special characters if you cant already
-there should be a records page, which shows you chars total number of kills per act and for the game, most powerful enemy vanquished, how long you have been playing for, favourite (most frequently used) Spell or skill, favourite (most frequently used) weapon/s [this area is where the kill counter from diablo 1 should be, seeing as the interface is different from diablo 1, i.e. the black box at the bottom of the screen that used to display the kill counter no longer exists]
-Chars are able to sail on ships between places; the deck acts like a regular stage, going below deck would be like going from Cave Lvl 1 to Cave Lvl 2
-some the chars should be able to use some of the skills that the prime/lesser evils use for example Demonic Chill
-chars should have charisma rating, similar to the other stats, but with charisma the higher the rating the bigger the discount at shops
-better/cooler avatars for chars, minions and mercs on singleplayer and multiplayer.
-2 skill points per level up instead of 1
-a records page listing in additon to the kill counter, total experience per act/game, kills per act/game, favourite weapon/spell and most powerful kill, there should be accomplishments page of your char with things like; total time played in game
is a member of the New Order of the Zakarum (Paladin or priest class)
is a member of the Order of the Zakarum (Anti Paladin or evil priest class)
is a Sister of the Sightless Eye (Rogue or warrior class)
is a member of the Tribe of the Bear (Barb or similar warrior class)
is a member of the Tribe of the wolf (Barb or similar warrior class)
these could also be quests. but i dont think you should be able to join a group if you are not the right class, unless you have to do some really hard quests or something like that, also preforming these tasks gives you bonuses like items, skill/stats points increase or extra skill/stat points to assign, bigger stash and other game related mechanics bonuses.
Classes
-somewhere between 10 - 20 or so chars, possibly keep some of the original classes and some new ones
-Generally chars in Diablo should fall into 3 categories, Warrior, Priest, and Mage, so this is how i will describe them also Rogue Warriors
Anti-Paladin
anti-Paladin is not a necromancer, Anti Paladin is exactly how it sounds an inverse Paladin, while the Paladin Heals, gives life, and gives bonus, an Anti Paladin takes lives and his Auras would have more incommon with curses of the Necromancer from D2, he does not however posess other Necromancer skills like revive and golem summoning. Archer
The Archer or as they are more commonly known the Ranger is kinda like a male amazon. He is the epitome of skill with a bow, his skills centre around the Bow, but he also possesses other skills as well, He can track enemies exceptionally well and has an affinity for nature, i.e the abilty to summon animals to his cause similar to the druid from D2 (D3viant addendom) The Rogue if you recall started with the bow; so another class that specializes with bows would be redundent ... personaly I would have taken away the bow skills the amazon had and applied them to the Rogue ... the Amazon wasn't worthy. Bard(Bards are rogue like classes who are more like party support characters... ie: songs and poems for moral ... bards were good at identifying magic items and were known for having knowledge of lore and history) Bards are musicians, singers, poets and storey tellers.
not the hellfire version a good one, the Bard is best described as a cross between a fighter a budget paladin and a budget mage. He is a fairly capable fighter, His Songs (which would be one of his skill sets) either provide bonus to party members like th D2 Paladin or harm enemies like the D2 Necro. He also has a small range of powerful mage type spells. Bounty Hunter
Like the Ranger he is adept at tracking/stalking, but his services come to those in need at a price, while the Ranger does so for virtue and honour the Bounty Hunter is a schemeing mercenary. He possesses several skills similar to the Assassins trap Skill set. but also several warrior type skills as well The Drifter(I see this as a rogue class character) I like it tho.
The Drifter is a character from an unknown origin, and prefers to travel by shadows to stalk and murder its unsuspecting prey. The Drifter is an enigmatic character, usually cloaked in dark robes, and it roams the night reading from its worn tome. The Drifter has been rarely spotted, but its three main skill trees have been discovered.
-Trapping Skills: Unlike the Assassin, these trapping skills include the use of underground spikes, arrowed booby traps, and at higher levels, enchanted mines and sentries.
-Draining Skills: The Drifter has multiple skills that have been categorized as draining skills. These skills include passive skills that apply to the traps to cause bleeding, life steal, and/or mana steal. Other skills that do not apply to the traps are a curse-like ritual that manipulates the enemy in a degenerate way.
-Nocturnal Magic: These magic skills are most powerful when used in the night hours*, enhancing their abilities to full potential. Skills include some summoning of dark spirits, along with some dark magic skills which can heavily damage the enemy when skill points are invested. Monk
not the hellfire version a good one more like the DND version, unarmed, martial artist. The Monk main form of attack is his fists and feet. His powerful attacks are capable of doing several types elemental damages(he means a Shaolin Monk -- animal forms kung fu and non magical healing abilities)
Ninja
kinda like male assassin in several aspects. While this class may seem unlikely, if one thinks about it, it can work. He would be able to throw shuriken which would act like the Necromancer skill Teeth, and a skill similar to the assassins skill, cloak of shadows would do quite well to emulated the Ninja's stealthiness. but the Ninja would also have several skills more designed for combat, they are skilled warriors, so they would also posses several skills than would do haeavy damage, and increase their chances of scoring critical strikes. (by D3viant) some where in the forum somebody mentioned that the Ninja was similer to the Assassin ... allow me to educate you on the differences. lets take this into modern times even though the game is set in the dark ages. comparing a ninga to an assassin is like comparing a Spec Ops soldier (Russian Spetsnaz, British S.A.S or US Army Rangers or Green Beretts)(I failed to mention Navy Seals and Marine Force Recon) to a Hit Man. while both are qualified experts in many weapons and highly skilled in stealth; the hit man is more confortable with the silent undetected kill while the spec ops soldier is more taylored to recon, hostage rescue, urban warfare, etc. historicly Ninja were more like the modern day Special Operations units of our respective countries. Yes there were more than likely many accounts where a Daimyo or Shogun would hire a Ninja to assassinate somebody, but thats not all they did. Assassinations were the least common jobs a ninja did. To recap: Assassin = silent killer. Ninja = Special Operations soldier. Both can kill selently and effeciently ... but one had more specified skills for a more broad range of job details. (I don't mean to sound like a smart ass or know it all)
Priests -Cavalier (Crusader Inquisitor)
A warrior truly dedicated to the erradication of evil. They epitomise honour, courage, loyalty, virtue. They are expertly trained to Hunt down and defeat classically evil beings and monsters i.e your corrupt mages, daemons and the like. Possesing mostly warrior type skills, they do have several spells at their disposal, mainly of the self Buff kind, not so much party oriented -Cleric (Adept, Prior, Zealot)
a class i am truly surprise has not made it into Diablo yet. A great fighter, but he is a Priest and as such can cast a variety of spells, Turn Undead similar to the D2 paladins conversion but only works on Undead of high levels low level undead are destroyed, can summon down the wrath of their chosen deity to smite there enemies similar to Fist of the heavens only more accurate and more powerful, posseses many bless type spells that increase armor, damage, stats these work similar to enchant i.e they must be cast on their target. They also have an intense hatred for the undead and thus would have a bonus to damage when engaging them healing from a Priest would cure much more health levels than any potion/ scroll or sorcerer/ sorceress heal other spell ... cure desiese and nuturalize poison, remove fear, santify weapon (+% dmg to undead or demon) Mage
-Alchemist
Possessing the ability to animates inanimate objects. it is an Alchemist who truly makes Golems (not a Necromancer unless it is a Bone Golem), creates weapons out of the elements around him for a better insight to the abilties of an alchemist watch the Anime Full metal Alchemist, you may be surprised as to what they are capable of.
-Conjurer (summoner)
specializes in creating creatures and objects to help him. This is the charatcer that it appears many people want, he is a summoner, summoning powerful daemons and magical beasts to aid him
-Elementalist
specializes in elemental based magics, and depending on how many skill sets one can have, this is what his skill sets would be divided into;
Fire fairly obivous
Water(ice) again fairly obvious
Lightning again fairly obvious
Earth, conjuring up walls or rock to trap enemies or stop ranged attacks, opening holes in the ground to swallow his eneimes, for a better look into the powers of earth magic check out Avatar the last Air Bender, and the Anime Full metal Alchemist. Warlock
not like the wow one A supernatural character whose sinister powers are inborn abilities, not spells, Such as shapeshifting into Daemons or Lycanthropes (Lycans is short for Lycanthropes).
The next few classes are better suited to being just the one mage/sorcerer class that can perform the skills of all of them Abjurer
specializes in protection magic (kinda like auras and the armor spells) Diviner
specializes in detection and divining magic (find/disable trap, far sight and identify) Enchanter
specializes in manipulating the minds of sentient beings Illusionist
specializes in creating illusions to confuse and mislead Invoker
specializes in invocation/evocation magic (lightning/magic type spells)
-definitely no Subclasses or Multiclasses in d3 just True classes
unless by subclassing it is you choose either;
-Warrior
then you choose a warrior class
-Priest
then you choose a priest class
-Mage
then you choose a mage class -Rogue then you choose a rogue class

Master List repost/update part 2
D3viant comments and additions in red
Storylines Major/minor
-with the worldstone gone demons are more free to enter the world of sanctuary, this is how more powerful demon lords (act bosses of sorts) can come through
-as both demons and angels can enter the others realm, I think more demons and angels should be present at the gates to each area, they are suppose to be lock in eternal combat, yet only one angel was in hell possibly fighting demons on their own turf
-the last two lesser evil Belial Lord of Lies and Azmodan Lord of Sin elude us still
-the eternal battle between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells is still raging
-the prime evils returning (or just diablo) without their soulstones as they arent needed for the prime evils to exist
-something about Tyrael, is he corrupted? (Kinda been done before, a lot) is he banished from heaven? It may just be me but arent angels forbidden from major influences on mankind or something like that, I forget what it says in the text regards the lore of angels in diablo
-Of course if tyrael is corrupted shouldn’t at least one of the seven player chars from d2 also be corrupted, they spent more time in the vicinity of the corrupted worldstone than tyrael did, and im not counting nightmare and hell, unless tyrael is corrupted thru having shards of the worldstone enter his body when he smashed it.
-tie up any loose ends from the diablo series not that I can think of any right now but there is probably a few mostly to do with tyrael I believe
-the angel inarius, he could perhaps be set free from his prison of mirrors to seek revenge on the prime evils or something
-tie in with the diablo novels some how
-something with Deckard cain is he still alive, he is getting old, but for some people it would feel like diablo without him.
-some mention of the heroes of d2/d2lod, perhaps you could find part of there armor of course the set would have a name like Unknown Barbarian heroes…. or something
-you could find out that cain is not the last of the horadrim, there is another, most likely an evil mage or sorts, you kill him then inform cain he once again is the last of the horadrim, cain has a wet eye.
-if a playable char returns in d3 like the chars from d1 did in d2, have more of a storyline for them, not just the ‘oh xchar is now a monster I have to kill’
-several powerful demons that have been defeated in the previous games could make a return thru some kind of resurrection/summoning spell, similar to the one Baal used to bring the warlord of blood (bartuc the bloody) back to life
-A civil war could break out in Hell, between Belial and Azmodan as they both vie for Ruler of Hell
-If D3 is a prequel, you should be able to be involved in the Binding of the three, or the Sin War, or any other event in the diablo History, such as the Blackening of King Leoric (well maybe not that one thats a little recent compared to the Binding of the three and the Sin War)
-D3 could be set a short while after the events of LOD and Hell has taken over and you must try to reclaim the World of Sanctuary and possibly Heaven.
-A rich and appealing storyline to continue from Diablo II. So far the storyline is nonconclusive at this point, and when it is, it has to be good.
Towns / world
-could throw in some cultural references to pop culture and other games for fun;
baldur's gate had a character called sir Garrick and he was modeled on sir robin from monty pythons holy grail, (he even sang the song brave, brave sir……), Warcraft had wirt’s other leg, and WOW has wirt's third leg
Diablo 3 could have a sorcerer called Tim or an npc called Roger the Shrubber, or a Knight who says ‘Ni’ or an item called the Doomhammer
-scary like diablo 1 (the lone hero descending into the darkness), this can be done by reintroducing the creepy soundtrack like diablo 1 had, Danny Elfman is good at gothic soundtracks, Medievil, batman the Animated Series are some of his best works
-more villages/towns/cities, some ruined like tristram in d2/LOD
-more towns/villages per act, could have a big city like lut Gohlein as the main town then further out in the wilderness a groups of houses with some npcs
-buildings in towns and cities to have very gothic architecture (like the Chaos Sanctuary in D2) esp. churches and cathedrals, think Notre Dame in France
-Trade-routes throughout the world of sanctuary, your char can buy passage on a caravan along these tracks, but beware they are full of bandits
-good old crossroads, complete with gibbet (cage) like in willow, lol
-bars, pubs and taverns, sometime adventurers just need a few drinks, a bit of entertainment (gambling/woman) and a rest, come on who hasnt wanted to pull up a barstool and drink with geglash in act 2 or drown your sorrows in the tavern of the rising sun when playing Diablo of course, intoxication would work like a curse
-buying alcohol for adventurous minors it’s always fun (ala baldurs gate),
-taking on castles/fortresses full of demons
-unofficial titles by which townsfolk refer to you kind like fable (people called out your title) =>
For killing a few witches get a Witch Hunter title
For killing a few daemons get a Daemon Hunter title
For killing a few vampires get a Vampire Hunter title
and so forth
-mounts to make travelling faster (may or may not be able to attack or be attacked if on mount)
-bigger acts (act 2 and 5 size) with more internal stages like caves and dungeons (if this game were to be a MMO "Acts" would be pointless)
-craggy peak stages
-eastern European forests, big thick ones, like the ones in Germany (like on the outer packaging of cadbury’s dark forest chocolate) not the scrag forests of act 1
-swamp/bog/quagmire/marshland good ones
-stages fully covered in snow, so much you leave footprints in the snow
-the tree house village (like where galadriel lives in LOTR, or the ewoks from star wars)
-similar to those little houses in act 1 that have a cow inside, why not have home stays, a house fenced off field, sheep and cattle.
-more interactable environments, things you can hack away at/through like bushes and vines also more things like the cairn stones in acts one you click on them and your char speaks
-bring back the d1 shrines (plus x lvl to x spell, plus x amount to x stat)
-villages full of possessed people (like griswold in d2)
-go to amazon/necromancer/druid homelands plus the kingdom of westmarch and north/south of kurast (we never went there in diablo 1, 2 or LOD)
-seeing at it is heaven vs. hell and we went to hell in diablo 1, 2 and LOD go to the high heavens (but not for a long time just one or two stages)
-if you can go to somewhere where it is impossible for the average person to go, dont have barrels and chests there, golden chests are ok they are special (demon horded treasure)
-bring back the ‘cornerstone of the world’ so you can trade between your chars, (without having someone say they'll help then steal your items) A trade screne or a store option could take care of this or god forbid we borrow a concept from WoW (Auction) ... a reminder WoW stole our socket items from us we can take something from them. -random shopkeepers who can sell you things outside of towns (may be single player only, as pkers would have a clear shot at you, unless they were in a house or something which acted like a town i.e. not attacking players)
-skull piles/skeletons on the ground, should yield skulls of varying power
-weapons racks should be like they were in diablo you know the armories of hell (on lvl 13), you know where each item sold for 10000gp not they useless crap they give in d2
-if you have a bow or throwing weapon, you should be able to shoot things in the air, like those birds and those jumping guys.
-if you go to an area from d1, d2 or LOD, it should look the same, not like how D2 tristram differs from diablo tristram (rivers are different and no cathedral, it would have been cool to do even the first four stages of the labyrinth) <-- I agree with this part ... it irrateded me to not see the church or cave entrence
-several features that are accessible only after you have beaten the game, (similar to the cow lvl)
-underground cities, like the Underdark in DND, but no gnomes or drow hmmm can ... like more areas like the added part of Hellfire ... you remember the Rune Bomb quest near the bridge by the creek.
-large cities full of corruption, complete with shady back alley locals
-more bodies of dead heroes on the ground that actually yield something good not just 3gp
-day and night
-weather (ok so D2 kinda had weather but it only really rained in act 3), also lightning spells should do more damage in the rain
-European style weapons like axes/swords should be in short supply in an area (act) that is based on another geographical location such as the Middle East, Same goes for the other areas, mostly weapons from that area, very few weapons from other areas
-the stages need to be not so flat, they should be like in Baldur’s Gate and Warcraft III, there are little hills and bumps, I cant believe act 2 of D2 hardly even had a single sand dune you could run/walk over a 3D environment can fix this .. -gold to have more of a significant or greater meaning.
-deep gorges and ravines, some you can walk through, others you cant
-you can pay an NPC to personalize/socket/imbue some of your items your items, but only later in the game/difficulties
-Bring back the books from diablo that told the history of the world of sanctuary, they were cool
-you should be able to kill wildlife and other such animals like the cows in the wilderness
-A secret Cow Level. <-- really lame ... Blizzard put the Cow level in D2 as a joke for all the idiots passing rumors of a cow level during D1 <-- end repost part two -->

Master List repost/update part 3
D3viant comments and additions in red
Quests
-lots more quests 27 is not enough (30 with v1.12 if it exists) and more quests per act, only 4/5 acts have 6 and that isnt enough
-arena quests (last man standing), other players can place bets on multiplayer
-quest based on class (everybody does the same quest but it differs depending on which class you are)
-quests differ depending on faction such as an evil person could choose not to kill something, or they could choose to kill a someone instead of save him
-quests that dont appear in quest log, (gheed wanted a gem a small weapon some gold or something didnt he)
-quests that are normal/nightmare/hell only
-Some quests differ slightly depending on the difficulty, Normal, Nightmare or Hell
-some quests that are single/multiplayer only,
-quest exp (getting exp just for finishing quest)
-better quest rewards, also quest rewards improve with difficulty (such as 1 socket/imbue in normal, 2 in nightmare and 3 in hell)
-protect village for x amount of time (good) or invade village for x amount of time (evil) I love these quests
-you can receive quests from monsters (like gharbad and snotspill in diablo)
-fist fighting quests, survive a few rounds to get a weapon, women, learn some info, raise some much needed fundage, or just prove how tough you are, that sort of thing
-killing a specific demon quests require you to bring back part of the demon to the person or thing that gave you the quest (unless it is a magic book)
-a few quests where you are able to potentionally weaken a boss, (Na krul from hellfire, reading the books weaken him)
-not sure if it can be done but it was cool (but sometimes not) but it was cool how in Diablo not every quest appeared every time during your game, you had to go to new game and hope you got the quests you missed.
-the age old sword in the stone quest, of course the sword is worth it
-everybody loves kicking the door in of the hideout of a cult, and totally kicking all their asses
-quests only appear in the quest log once you have begun them, like they did in diablo1
-a few quests that take almost the whole difficulty (or game) to finish
-some quests that either must be finished in the next act, or require something from the next act to finish it
-lots more quests that are harder in difficulty, most of the quests in d2/LOD are fairly easy to complete
Weapons/items
-version of weapons more powerful than elite
-light and dark versions of weapons, (but not all) Light weapons give off a Holy glow, while Dark weapons give off an unholy glow
-more items of all types
-cloaks and capes over armor
-bring back the rags
-bring back the club that looked like a bit of wood with a nail in it
-bring back the spells books from diablo 1 (plus x lvls to x spell) and the bookshelves they are found on. - include learnable skills in book form and/ or have skills to be learned from an NPC instructor ( allowing for taylored skill trees based on what the players wants to focus on)
-also shields can be strapped to your back, that way you can have a shield and a two handed weapon, cant block but the armor rating thing still applies (I disagree - if your shield is not equiped [in the backpack or strapped over your back] you should not gain the benefits of the armor class adjustment or block rating... its not being used !!)
Bring back items of the pit (plus -x to x stat)
-customize armor and some weapons NWN styles
-new types of weapons, such as whips [yeh i went there], slings, bayonets (see Anderson form Hellsing) katana, shuriken (ninja star), ninja to and wakazashi (I know this isnt an Asian themed game or DND, but you should know what i mean) who said the asian culture doesn exist in santuary !! I say it does and should be included in D3
-more gems/better version of gems, more runes/more powerful and more rune words not trying to copy World of Warcrack; but institute a gem crafting skill which includes putting sockets into items ... WOW borrowed our socketed item ... we can borrow the gem crafter.
-if there is something like the cube in d3 it should be available earlier in the game (I hate finding a good item or two and my stash if full of runes and gems and im in act 1) also it should be larger
-more transmutable items
-more craftable items
-more uniques, and more powerful, plus more that look different from their base item it should be like in Diablo nearly every unique item looked different form its base type
-trophies =>
demon heads, pelts, hinds, scalps, hooves, horns, tusks (work like charms and some as items like weapons and cloaks) and of course somewhere to store them like a seperate stash for trophies - an NPC that can make trophie like items be usable as charms as well as have charms for sale.
-bring back the elixirs from diablo
-bring back the oils from diablo hellfire
-more set items (esp class specific sets)
-6 – 8 feet tall swords, which even someone like the barbarian has to use two hands to swing it
-definitely no GUNS, definitely no GUNS, no guns of any kind
-some legendary items, which you have to search for the parts and combine them to get a really powerful item, these items can either be created in the cube or by a master blacksmith - including the Anvil of Fury, the Magic Rock, the Horodric Malice etc.
-throwing hammers, there are throwing knives and axes, why not hammers
-Flaming Longswords, man these weapons rock - prefix / suffix related graphics on items (Bruning long war bow of Ages) = Indestructable long war bow that glows red and fires firey arrows; you see the bow glow on the chracter
-more non European style weapons, like Scimitars and Katanas
-Upgrades and add-ons to your armor (so you don't have to buy new armor)
-Upgrades and add-ons to your weapons as well.
-remove the magical property ‘+x to xChar skills’, it is annoying finding a ring that is +X to skills only to realize it is for the paly and you are the necro, just have the +x to all skills and +x to xskilltree properties
-socketing items is similar to how you buy items, i.e you get the message "are you sure you want to socket this item"
-a more precise appraisal on your more valuable items
Multiplayer
-since it will be similar to wow, guilds will be cool, (even if there are no official guild option people will do this anyway)
-less fucken lag (my god is that a must)
-not sure if it is caused by lag but fix the problem of the black wall that stops you from moving
-an arena for dueling (PK), other players can place bets, the winner of the pk duel takes a large part of all the winnings, odds of winning would most likely be calculated on something like lvl. Lower lvl, better pay or something like that (in addition to arenas how about taverns with fight pits)
-checkbox for dueling works similar to trade check box, not possible unless both people check the box
-more people per game increase the number from 8 to 12, unless it is like wow and is all on servers the diablo game must check your connection and see what the maximum players your connection can handle is. This may not go up to 15 players. (if our vision is to be a MMO then the allowable players per game would be pointless ... unless its for party spacific raids or raid instances)
-bigger friends list maybe 35 instead of 25
-more multiplayer (battle.net [Closed]) only runewords
-games should have some kind of identifier which says the game is expansion or not and what difficulty it is before you try to join it
-ears or the d3 equivalent trophy’s price should be based on lvl, it is stupid to have a lvl 9 ear sell at the same price as a lvl 99 ear
-not sure if this is already the case, Shrines should have bigger effects on multiplayer, i.e. bigger bonuses and last longer (this is for TCP/IP, Open and Closed)
-Gaining exp for duels, they count as a monster of the equivalent level, killing a lvl 90 char would roughly be the same as killing a lvl 90 monster
-once you join a guild, your char bears the insignia of that guild, such as a little pic on their cape (guild sir coats or capes) - NPC AI that recognizes official guilds or in game related affliation (ie Stephanie has a Rogue that is a member of the Sightless Eye and she goes to a town that is near to a Sightless Eye temple and gets discounts on items because of her affiliation or ranking in that Order)
-very good anti hack/dupe protection - I think the potion / scroll drop duplication can be inplimented in a way that its a magical effect.. but only certian items ... and failed duplications burn up the potions or scrolls used in the attempt.
-a help section for newcomers, explaining how to do all the commands
-more features only available on battle.net, like the world events and the ubers
-while in a group on multiplayer, if someone dies, they get a diminished (most likely diminished to 0) proportion of the exp that the rest of the group get for killing the badguy
-on multiplayer you can only enter games of a similar speed to your connection (might be hard to do but it is gay when you have broadband and someone with dial up joins your game and it lags like fuck, course there is a serious downside, if you have dial up and your friend has broadband you wouldn’t be able to play together)
-it would be nice to see other PvP modes, such as capture the war banner, or a town raid with two opposing teams trying to take control.
- Add more Easter Eggs, like: someone tells you how the future is by looking in the crystal ball: a war between the terran (humans) and the zergs (aliens) will start..., that would be cool for starcraft and diablo players. Another is of course the cow level, but this one is metioned earlier this thread. But there need to be more secrets in the game, that tell you other storys, give you secret items etc.
-Partys need to have a loot system, within the items must be shared. Cause some people lag and they cant get any good items because the people with better connection are always faster. Like all people must dice (like World Of Warcraft). If you dont want to share you can dissable this while starting a party YOURSELF. All people who only want to share, must not join these type of partys
Friend system/ interface
- An y key for friends chat.
- A t key for public chat.
- An u key for party chat.
- A command to join one of your friends without needing to search the list (or typing a weird name like freeeeeeeeeee items in the join fill-in): like !join [friend name] - No favourites tab, cause that doesnt work: everybody is hosting him/her self and the server wont be online that many times. Joining over IP might be useful
- Servers listed with the server with the best Ping at the top.
- When hosting u can say if its pvp pvm or rpg (quests) or bosskilling.
- commands for ingame: !disconnect (with saving) , !quit (quit the game, with saving) , !leave = leaving party !hostile [player name] !stats (showing how many monsters you have killed, how many players, how many times youve defeated the bosses and how many quests you have done).
- Be able to see mercs from players in your party, i mean the picture with a health bar, and be able to give them potions too.
- For the server host a few commands: !kick [name player], !mute [name player] !ban [name player] (ip ban), !unmute [name player] !End [how many seconds be4 game ends], !unban [name player youve banned]. You cannot kick/mute/ban yourself.
- For the visitors of a server they can rate the server from 1 to 10.
Npcs/mercs - some towns have any kind of merc to be purchased and others are Barbarian or Sorcerer / Sorceress only etc. ( I hated it when later in game I wanted to have a fire based rogue and at the moment I had a lightning based barb ... that ment I had to port back to rogue camp just to make the change) - Gender choice in the merc you buy ... except for amazon and monk ... femal and male only respectively - Adria the Witch survived and is a main NPC in D3 more vauable than before in D1
-More sarcasm and cursing by the townsfolk and much less political correctness, it makes for an interesting conversation, a more medieval feel to the language they use
-a few Hollywood actors to do a few of the voices, like Sean Connery to do a wizard, or Michael Dorm to do a brooding warrior or something like that
-the cow suit guy from diablo hellfire,
-mercs that have better AI, can choose whether they act aggressive or passive, attack or defend, more choices of merc classes, more powerful, and can use a few more items (not a full set), resurrection scrolls and be able to hire 2 max
-mercs need to have a few more skills than the one or two they have in D2
-also mercs have a voice just a few more sound files, they follow you to hell and back and all they can say is ‘thanks’, ‘I will put this to good use’, ‘I cant use this yet’, ‘uuurrrrrrrggggghh’
-more people who unofficial follow you like the barbarians in act 5
-if there are witches, they should be like adria in d1, or the corrupt rogues, and not as a playable character, to similar to the sorc
-random npcs adventurers (some dead and you can loot their stuff)
-random people who give you a quest or two
-more people in town to talk to, that don’t sell/give quests to you, like farhnam and geglash (yes people out there like to talk to these people)
-random NPC groups out killing demons, (groups of paladins and assassins out doing their jobs that sort of thing)
-some npcs who after rescuing them follow you, of course you can equip them but they don’t use the full set of items, they use weapon shield, armor, helm, gloves and boots, they are kind of like a type of merc you don’t have to pay for
-more drunk npcs, they always have something funny to say esp. farhnam
-more Angels, diablo is heaven vs. Hell and we have only seen two angels, Tyrael and Hadriel, there are other angels mentioned in the diablo texts but they are never seen in the games
-npcs always seem pretty eager to help you on your quests, where are the npcs who refuse to provide you with the info you need, until you beat it out of them? ( maybe not beat it out of them but bribe them or do meaningless favors for them to earn their trust or what ever (reputation system)
-more ethnically diverse npcs, where are all the Norse, Scandinavian, Irish, and Scottish npcs
-more npcs who actually have the right accent for the geographical area they are in, with d2 nearly every one had the same accent even if the were from the deserts, the jungle or the tundra
-more npcs who hit on the player character
-More npcs who try to coax the player char into joining the forces of Hell
-More good characters gone bad like Griswold.
- Mercs need to have a mana bar, for better realistic gameplay and more challenge. Also his mana and the mana of the other mercs in your party can u recover. A stamina bar must NOT be added, cause then you'll lose you're merc... mercs need to have a inv also so you can store more items ... can we say "MULE"
Skills/spells
-a generic skill tab that everybody has, with find item, find potion, disarm trap, pick lock and spells/skills like that (I think I mentioned learnable skills above so this fits my idea)
-not really sure if it can be done, but bring back the unique skill feature from Diablo, each class had a unique skill;
Warrior: repair item
Rogue: disarm trap including assassin traps
Sorcerer: recharge staff Assassin: set trap (ie going through a door and a horde of demons are following ... trap the door so when they open it they take damage) this can be in-addition to the normal trap weapons an assassin has
In d3 a priest class could have a unique skill that increases the damage of holy spells, like holy bolt, alternatively an evil priest unique skill could increase the damage of unholy skills like unholy bolt (if you recall holy bolt would heal another player that factor is a must ... so unholy bolt will heal another player who is with the Burning Hells faction)
-bring back the spells of immolation (fire nova) flame wave, lightning wall, elemental, stone curse, and apocalypse - bring back the Runes from Hellfire ... make a Rune Caster mage class
-higher max skill level (20 it too low, I know skills go higher than this but you can only add to a skill 20 times, then it stops the rest must be done with items)
-lightning spells to have a higher minimum damage, I hate it when its 1-5000
-more magic damage based skills, you know the ones that aren’t elemental based more skills like berserk, magic arrow, telekinesis, some times these are the only spells you can use to hit the enemies, also some of these spells need to do more damage
-a new type of skills (like Cold, Poison, Fire, Lightning, Magic, Physical) called Unholy [working title] and these spells are for evil chars, things like unholy bolt, demonic chill, of course if you that all the skills like holy bolt, and the holy auras would all be Holy [working Title]
-all classes have a few more defensive skills/spells
-not really sure if this already happens but, 24 points into a lvl 1 skill, should do more damage than one point into a lvl 24 skill
-a few more spells that control the badguys, like psionics attacks
-there should be a spell for each class that summons a minion, even for warrior classes, warriors could summon primal beasts like wolves and bears or summon valkryies and berserkers, priests Devas or fallen Devas if they are evil, mages anything from demons to elementals to the undead Amazon - we remember who she could sommon Assassin - same as in D2 Barbarian - sommon Clanmate / weapon master Bard - sommon Angry Mob (2 - 6 peasants who throw stones at the enemy) -- lol thats just too funny !! [homage to a cool card in Magic: the Gathering] Druid - same as in D2 Monk - sommon animal spirits in the traditional shaolin animal forms (like an aura for a palidin but more visual effects than just a colorful ring around the feet) Ninja - sommon Kunoichi (male character) / Shinobi (female character) what this means is the player sommons the oppisite sex of the character he/ she is playing Necromancer - same as in D2 Palidin - sommon Angel or sommon Demon for Anti-Palidin Rogue - I can't think of anything cool excpet for multi-shot and rapid fire(rapid fire like the "cast 20 spells at once crack from D1 v1.07-1.08) that was one of the coolest hacks out there ... Blisard should incorperate it into a skill for the rogue ... quantity increases as points are spent to increase the skill lvl1 = 1 additional arrow ... skill level2 = 2 additional arrows etc. wait I just thought of something ... the Rogue can sommon Archer Warrior - sommon Squire and War Hero
-more spells like Cloudkill, Ice Lance, Acid Arrow, finger of death, disintegrate and some spells similar to other DND spells which when cast, create a weapon like Flame Sword and Magic Hammer

Master List repost/update part 4
D3viant comments and additions in red
Monsters
-more enemies that have a voice and say more than one line (like snotspill, zhar the mad, Lazarus, gharbad)
-demons disguised as people in town (would be cool)
-more powerful types of bad guy =>
Goat => Centaur, Minotaur
Fallen => fallen brute
Knights => Demon Knight
Blunderbore => Ogres
Claw Viper => Naga (the more feminine looking ones, not the WC royal guard type)
-tougher bosses (some with fewer minions)
-more visual variety in badguys kind of like how with the necromancers skeletons some have shields with arrows in them, some have axes, some have swords, and others dont
-a random evil/good version of you, wandering around (like pokemon but not as lame of course), could be interesting
-more badguys who worship a badguy and yell his name (carvers yell out rakanishu)
-Random badguys that ride on horses are charge at you - Random bandits that try to steal your gold and stuff ... these are tough times and people will do anything to get money for a piece of bread or some wisky to take the chill off the bones.
-less resistant badguys in hell
-bring back the gargoyles from diablo
-bring back the succubus from diablo
-bring back the mages from diablo
-bring back the butcher, warlord of blood and the skeleton king or a similar badguy
-bring back the black knights from diablo, they were so cool bursting into flames when they died
-bring back the Magma men (lava chuckers)
-bring back the lightning demons (lightning chuckers)
-bring back the overlords (uglies)
-bring back the vipers (snakes)
[Would have been quicker to say which monsters from diablo 1 not to bring back, lol]
-rocs (giant birds) that pick up your mount/baddies
-goatman/fallen armies complete with camps and chariots
-Demons
Baatezu, Balor and Tanar'ri (kinda look like dread lords from WCIII)
-Basalisks, kinda looks like a komodo dragon but bigger, way bigger (for you idiots out there, the basilisk in Harry Potter is actually a Boalisk, basilisks have legs)
-Hydras, the multiple headed beasts
-Medusae, snake hair ladies
-Rakshasas (shape change monsters)
-Mariliths (sometimes called Nagas, Half snake/half woman with lots or arms)
-More undead enemies
Banshee
Crypt Thing (very powerful Skeleton)
Liches and Demi-Liches (more like the DND version as opposed to the Warcraft version)
Revenant (very powerful Zombie)
Zombie Lord
-Ratmen, similar to the goatmen but rats, (there were ratmen in D2 but they used the Fetish image)
-Sirens
-some kind of sea monster, like the river monsters in act 3 but bigger, much bigger! Some kind of giant sea serpent or two like the Kraken or leviathans/mosasaur looking creatures.
-a few more plant type monsters wouldn’t hurt, shambling moulds and ones similar to the Venus fly trap monsters in the Legend of Zelda games
-a few more legendary beasts from mythology but not too many, mostly animal, undead and demon types, as these types are most common in diablo, dragons in diablo would seem out of place, as would some other legendary beasts, like mind flayers and beholders
-less monsters that run away, still have these guys, just less of them
-Some kind of spike lord badguy with lots of spikes
-the average monster size should be larger
-monsters should drop items whose level requirement is a little closer to your own, it sucks when a level 12 char finds an item for a lvl 45 char
-diablo to either be the traditional red, blood red, red with a black back or all black I say Blood Red
Game Mechanics
-2.5D graphics, something between what diablo 1 and 2, and neverwinter nights are Full 3D environment
-ZOOM the camera would be cool, even if it is isometric view. But esp. if its in 3D Rotating camara angle (still in 45° if the players chooses 3rd person instead of 1st person view)
-keep the three difficulty levels, but if the game if very big baldurs gate 2 size im cool with the difficulties just being a setting, like they were in Diablo: Hellfire
-bring back the kill counter, is was neat being able to see how many of a certain type of badguy you had killed, but when the kill counter reset at 500 or so that was gay
-items dump in piles that you click on and it brings up an inventory, (like neverwinter nights and Baldur’s gate) I hate just seeing lots of gold and items everywhere
-bring back gambling for unique and set items, which was cool
-bigger inventory/stash - Bank and or Warehouse for item storage
-trade gold for exp (I know this seems a little cheap, but its how many Baal runs to go from lvl 96 to 97, and you have millions of dollars not going to any use) - a lot of game companies are going for the "Item Mall business model ... Blizzard can do this same approach to maintain server costs and allow some of us to get the rare drops or rare uniques by purchase of real world transactions. the buying experience or uber quests is a good idea also. - incorperating a developer program for the skilled and knowlegeable players ... scripting tools to purchase so that custome quests and items can be made and submitted for Blizard approval ... Item mall cash is awarded to those who are in the Developers Program.
-pressing the ‘H’ key removes all of the bars and icons around the screen so all that is left is the background pressing ‘H’ again brings them back
-belts auto fill, like how if you have a column empty on your belt and you pick up a potion in fills up, do that same thing with potion from inventory, if you have room, potions automatically go into your belt, (what I’m trying to get at here is if there is room in your belt, and you have potions in your inventory, they should go to your belt, i.e. the belt will always try to stay full)
-May be hard to implement but mercs have a belt for potions, and you can set it so when the mercs life drops below a certain point, the potions in the mercs belt will be used, saving you farting around trying to heal the merc, by pressing shift + #, # of course being a number 1 – 4, or if you didn’t know that, dragging a potion to the mercs pic at the top of the screen not hard to impliment ... they already had an inventory screne in D2 ... add a belt slot so you can stock the merc up ... with a slot interface next to your own belt slots you will be able to see when the merc is out of potions / scrolls ... a script can be coded to have the merc say "I'm out of potions" or " I need healing" and more Bliz has pretty much the best game engin in the industry ... I see no reason why D3 couldn't use the same engine and GUI as WoW but keep the Life and Mana Bowls to keep with the franchise appeal
-tutorial for newcomers, shows how to create basic melee fighter, ranged fighter, melee priest, ranged priest and mage class builds, hot key management, npc interaction things like that, game basics and char builds. NPC trainers in the start areas of each class can account for the above newbie tutorial
-an area that calculates your MF for you, if it can calculate armor/chance to block why not MF
-faster run/walk speeds
-if they don’t already, spiked shields or shields with spikes on them should do more damage
-not sure if this is the case, but you should be able to create the runewords without having to go on multiplayer
- bringing back the menu from diablo 1, You know when save and exit were two different options instead of the same be (or is that too cheap)
-more sensible and suitable weapon drops from monsters and bosses, i hate it when im the sorc and i find shit for the barb, also why does a monster using a sword drop an axe? he should drop a sword.
-An area in the records page that lets you know how long you have been playing for. like in Fable it tells you how many hours your played.
-the game isnt so linear, more freedom to go where you want, but you still cant go everywhere, and still have the acts (but they are bigger)
-After you die in Hard core you can still walk around in town/heaven. (It would only be -fun though on multiplayer)
-New interfaces. New menus, new inventory setup, new stash/bank area, new character stat window, new equipped items window (perhaps an optional character portrait?) Keep the old school health and mana orbs in the corners
-Slow the monster generation down, and make them more difficult. Diablo II was an off-and-on game because players lost interest with pwning huge amounts of easy monsters.
-More eye-appealing special effects. Perhaps they can add some ragdoll physics and some new fire, lightning, ice, and poison animations.
-Implement a Day-Night tracker. During the light hours of the day, demons will be less aggressive. During dark hours, the demons will feel more compelled to push their forces forward. This implementation could also be build upon for other things, such as quests and item finding.
-A new difficulty. Diabolical Harder - almost impossible to pass, but its rewards will be grand
-the weapons you use should be reflected in the way monsters die, i.e. if you use a bladed weapon monsters should die by getting cut. (This isn’t power rangers where every weapon works like a mace, when hit badguys fly back) in the same respect different encounters are vulnrable to certian weapon types ... Skeletons are less likely to be killed by an arrow but a simple club will destroy them instantly
-If the skill does not effectively cast, it will "fizzle", costing the user only half the mana it takes to cast the true spell and for skills to have an;
1. Efficiency Rating (NEW): The higher this rating is, the more likely you will be able to use the desired skill to its full effect. (Increases with spell level and character level)
2. Anatomy Tactics (NEW): The higher this rating is, the more likely you will be able to cause more damage with your skill. (Increases with spell and character level)
3. Resistance Rating (NEW): The higher this rating is, the more likely spell-resistant monsters will take more damage from it. (Increases with spell level)
Other
-the soundtrack is included
-cloth map of the world of sanctuary
-DVD of the movies from the game
-Art of Diablo concept book, the Warcraft one was cool
-Free poster
-quik reference card of in game/in chat commands
-strategy guide comes with it, (some people need it), and even I pick up a few things from these books every now and again
-would blizzard supplying their own char/world editor for Diablo 3 be too weird, lol
Add a map/mod editor, that would be awesome. You can choose at the start if you want to play one of your own mods/maps or you want to play normal single player. You can make your mods/maps multiplayer, but other people need to download these maps/mods and put them in there maps/mods- folder. <-- this can fall in the "Developers Program" idea I mentioned above
-links to websites with special downloads, like items for your chars
-nice big manual for the game full of good stuff like where to find Easter eggs in the game as well as all the usual stuff manuals are full of
-some kind of d3 memorabilia, the box set of the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion comes with a Nerv Parking Permit magnet, something similar could be done for d3
Ummm.... I didnt read it all but was their something about mounts up their somewhere? If their was take it out.

Titan quest sucked in my opinion, but i did like the idea of having say 10 skill trees and you can specialise in more than one, allowing much more freedom... It just opens up so many more possibilities for character builds and for me that is what diablo (mostly d2) was all about, making an inferno sorc that used flamebellow, strange things that were fun and unique just to see how they would go.
I'm sure most of you will disagree, but then most of you probably made hammerdins anyway...
oh and also i really hope they keep the slow scrolling audio from the npc's whenever you get a new quest or just listen to gossip... i think it creates more of a connection between the gamer and the world
Anyways; In Diablo 3 i would like to see:
RACES
Only Race is Human
FACTIONS
There are three Factions:
- Heaven
- Hell
- Neutral
Heaven would clearly entail doing good quests and helping people, wheras Hell would entail doing evil deed quests and hurting people and Neutral would be taking both sides quests by choice, but you would only be allowed to take certain quests for both sides as a neutral player.
CLASSES
Personally, i'd like the original 7 Classes, but a complete redo of Spells, and also some revamping of the appearance of armour etc.

Heavenly Warrior- A man who has a angel mother and a mortal man as parents. He fights with light and great strength with attacks that deal with life and light. He also has powers to heal and has attacks like Holy Sword (makes sword stronger against enemies), Holy Armor (raises defense on shield, armor, boots, etc.), and Charge (old attack from Diablo 2).
Sorcerer- Very much like the sorcerers/esses in Diablo 1 and 2. This man has the power to conjure ice, lightning, fire, and earth (a new one). The lightning, fire, and ice are pretty much the same but earth is a new skill area. It has attacks like Earthquake, Spike, Earth Wall (enchances shield), Fissure, etc.
Hell Mage- A man that has been trained in the Dark Arts. He can raise skeletons, mages, Black Golems (demonic golem type guy), and Soul Implantation (can put himself inside another creature like the Venom Lord or Carver).
Archer- Trained to use the bow and arrow, the woman has the ability to strike down her opponent from a distance. Her attacks include Death Arrow (an arrow that explodes in your face and keeps you immobile for a second or two), Speed Increase, and Charge-up (lets her charge up her attacks so they do more damage.
Priest- Knowing the bible by heart, he is mastered in Enchancement attacks.
Naturist- Like a druid from Diablo 2, this guy uses elemental skills to attack enemies. The attacks include Twister (takes off defense for a couple seconds), Parasites (poison attack and, in dueling, let's you see their gear and inventory), and Vine Trap (like bone prison except with vines).
Stalker- A woman who was raised in the jungle and has to use stalking and hunting skills to hunt prey and intruders.
War Captain- A man trained to work with swords, axes, and maces.
Destructor: The original Death Hammer that the great mortal
found.
Tal Rasha's Aid: Possibly owned by Tal Rasha himself, it has
bonuses like Level 10 Holy Shock and Ice when
equiped and plus 5 to all skills.
Eyes of Heaven: Unique Biorbial Staff that adds plus 3 to random
elemental skills and plus plus 5 to all skills that also
has around 500 random spin damage that knocks an
enemy back a couple feet.
Triblade Sword (Heavenly Warrior Weapon): A sword that as three blades on it allowing the Heavenly Warrior to attack from one blade and have Holy Attacks come from the other two.
Angel's Blade: Unique version of Triblade Sword that has Level 15 Holy
Sword on it already and has plus 5 to all skills. It
also includes Regenerate Health 50% on it.
Gripper (Stalker Weapon): A spear that has a metallic hand on the back of it and a spear point on the front of it. It allows the Stalker to attack with the spear point and then grab the enemy with the metallic hand to make them come to you and then hit them again with the spear point.
Hell's Wound: A very powerful Gripper that does 1000+ damage and
its grabber stuns enemy for .5 seconds.

Master List repost/update
D3viant comments and additions in red
-Generally chars in Diablo should fall into 3 categories, Warrior, Priest, and Mage, so this is how i will describe them also Rogue
Warriors
Bard (Bards are rogue like classes who are more like party support characters... ie: songs and poems for moral ... bards were good at identifying magic items and were known for having knowledge of lore and history) Bards are musicians, singers, poets and storey tellers.
not the hellfire version a good one, the Bard is best described as a cross between a fighter a budget paladin and a budget mage.
He possesses several skills similar to the Assassins trap Skill set. but also several warrior type skills as well
The Drifter (I see this as a rogue class character) I like it tho.
(I don't mean to sound like a smart ass or know it all)
Priests
-Cavalier (Crusader Inquisitor)
A warrior truly dedicated to the erradication of evil. They epitomise honour, courage, loyalty, virtue. They are expertly trained to Hunt down and defeat classically evil beings and monsters i.e your corrupt mages, daemons and the like. Possesing mostly warrior type skills, they do have several spells at their disposal, mainly of the self Buff kind, not so much party oriented
-Cleric (Adept, Prior, Zealot)
a class i am truly surprise has not made it into Diablo yet. They also have an intense hatred for the undead and thus would have a bonus to damage when engaging them
healing from a Priest would cure much more health levels than any potion/ scroll or sorcerer/ sorceress heal other spell ... cure desiese and nuturalize poison, remove fear, santify weapon (+% dmg to undead or demon)
Mage
This is the charatcer that it appears many people want, he is a summoner, summoning powerful daemons and magical beasts to aid him
-Elementalist
specializes in elemental based magics, and depending on how many skill sets one can have, this is what his skill sets would be divided into;
Fire fairly obivous
Water(ice) again fairly obvious
Lightning again fairly obvious
Earth, conjuring up walls or rock to trap enemies or stop ranged attacks, opening holes in the ground to swallow his eneimes, for a better look into the powers of earth magic check out Avatar the last Air Bender, and the Anime Full metal Alchemist. Warlock
not like the wow one A supernatural character whose sinister powers are inborn abilities, not spells, Such as shapeshifting into Daemons or Lycanthropes (Lycans is short for Lycanthropes).
The next few classes are better suited to being just the one mage/sorcerer class that can perform the skills of all of them
Abjurer
specializes in protection magic (kinda like auras and the armor spells)
Diviner
specializes in detection and divining magic (find/disable trap, far sight and identify)
Enchanter
specializes in manipulating the minds of sentient beings
Illusionist
specializes in creating illusions to confuse and mislead
Invoker
specializes in invocation/evocation magic (lightning/magic type spells)
-definitely no Subclasses or Multiclasses in d3 just True classes
unless by subclassing it is you choose either;
-Warrior
then you choose a warrior class
-Priest
then you choose a priest class
-Mage
then you choose a mage class
-Rogue
then you choose a rogue class

Towns / world
-could throw in some cultural references to pop culture and other games for fun;
baldur's gate had a character called sir Garrick and he was modeled on sir robin from monty pythons holy grail, (he even sang the song brave, brave sir……), Warcraft had wirt’s other leg, and WOW has wirt's third leg
-bring back the ‘cornerstone of the world’ so you can trade between your chars, (without having someone say they'll help then steal your items)
A trade screne or a store option could take care of this or god forbid we borrow a concept from WoW (Auction) ... a reminder WoW stole our socket items from us we can take something from them.
-underground cities, like the Underdark in DND, but no gnomes or drow
hmmm can ... like more areas like the added part of Hellfire ... you remember the Rune Bomb quest near the bridge by the creek.
-the stages need to be not so flat, they should be like in Baldur’s Gate and Warcraft III, there are little hills and bumps, I cant believe act 2 of D2 hardly even had a single sand dune you could run/walk over
a 3D environment can fix this ..
Blizzard put the Cow level in D2 as a joke for all the idiots passing rumors of a cow level during D1
<-- end repost part two -->
Master List repost/update part 3
-more gems/better version of gems, more runes/more powerful and more rune words
not trying to copy World of Warcrack; but institute a gem crafting skill which includes putting sockets into items ...
-trophies =>
demon heads, pelts, hinds, scalps, hooves, horns, tusks (work like charms and some as items like weapons and cloaks) and of course somewhere to store them like a seperate stash for trophies
- an NPC that can make trophie like items be usable as charms as well as have charms for sale.
-bring back the elixirs from diablo
-bring back the oils from diablo hellfire
-more set items (esp class specific sets)
-6 – 8 feet tall swords, which even someone like the barbarian has to use two hands to swing it
-definitely no GUNS, definitely no GUNS, no guns of any kind
-some legendary items, which you have to search for the parts and combine them to get a really powerful item, these items can either be created in the cube or by a master blacksmith
- including the Anvil of Fury, the Magic Rock, the Horodric Malice etc.
-throwing hammers, there are throwing knives and axes, why not hammers
-Flaming Longswords, man these weapons rock
- prefix / suffix related graphics on items (Bruning long war bow of Ages) = Indestructable long war bow that glows red and fires firey arrows; you see the bow glow on the chracter
-once you join a guild, your char bears the insignia of that guild, such as a little pic on their cape (guild sir coats or capes)
- NPC AI that recognizes official guilds or in game related affliation
(ie Stephanie has a Rogue that is a member of the Sightless Eye and she goes to a town that is near to a Sightless Eye temple and gets discounts on items because of her affiliation or ranking in that Order)
-very good anti hack/dupe protection
- I think the potion / scroll drop duplication can be inplimented in a way that its a magical effect.. but only certian items ... and failed duplications burn up the potions or scrolls used in the attempt.
- A command to join one of your friends without needing to search the list (or typing a weird name like freeeeeeeeeee items in the join fill-in): like !join [friend name]
- No favourites tab, cause that doesnt work: everybody is hosting him/her self and the server wont be online that many times.
Npcs/mercs
- some towns have any kind of merc to be purchased and others are Barbarian or Sorcerer / Sorceress only etc. ( I hated it when later in game I wanted to have a fire based rogue and at the moment I had a lightning based barb ... that ment I had to port back to rogue camp just to make the change)
- Gender choice in the merc you buy ... except for amazon and monk ... femal and male only respectively
- Adria the Witch survived and is a main NPC in D3 more vauable than before in D1
-not really sure if it can be done, but bring back the unique skill feature from Diablo, each class had a unique skill;
Warrior: repair item
Rogue: disarm trap including assassin traps
Sorcerer: recharge staff
Assassin: set trap (ie going through a door and a horde of demons are following ... trap the door so when they open it they take damage) this can be in-addition to the normal trap weapons an assassin has
In d3 a priest class could have a unique skill that increases the damage of holy spells, like holy bolt, alternatively an evil priest unique skill could increase the damage of unholy skills like unholy bolt (if you recall holy bolt would heal another player that factor is a must ... so unholy bolt will heal another player who is with the Burning Hells faction)
-bring back the spells of immolation (fire nova) flame wave, lightning wall, elemental, stone curse, and apocalypse
- bring back the Runes from Hellfire ... make a Rune Caster mage class
-there should be a spell for each class that summons a minion, even for warrior classes, warriors could summon primal beasts like wolves and bears or summon valkryies and berserkers, priests Devas or fallen Devas if they are evil, mages anything from demons to elementals to the undead
Amazon - we remember who she could sommon
Assassin - same as in D2
Barbarian - sommon Clanmate / weapon master
Bard - sommon Angry Mob (2 - 6 peasants who throw stones at the enemy) -- lol thats just too funny !! [homage to a cool card in Magic: the Gathering]
Druid - same as in D2
Monk - sommon animal spirits in the traditional shaolin animal forms (like an aura for a palidin but more visual effects than just a colorful ring around the feet)
Ninja - sommon Kunoichi (male character) / Shinobi (female character) what this means is the player sommons the oppisite sex of the character he/ she is playing
Necromancer - same as in D2
Palidin - sommon Angel or sommon Demon for Anti-Palidin
Rogue - I can't think of anything cool excpet for multi-shot and rapid fire(rapid fire like the "cast 20 spells at once crack from D1 v1.07-1.08) that was one of the coolest hacks out there ... Blisard should incorperate it into a skill for the rogue ... quantity increases as points are spent to increase the skill lvl1 = 1 additional arrow ... skill level2 = 2 additional arrows etc.
wait I just thought of something ... the Rogue can sommon Archer
Warrior - sommon Squire and War Hero
-more spells like Cloudkill, Ice Lance, Acid Arrow, finger of death, disintegrate and some spells similar to other DND spells which when cast, create a weapon like Flame Sword and Magic Hammer
<-- end repost part three -- >
Master List repost/update part 4
D3viant comments and additions in red
Monsters
-more enemies that have a voice and say more than one line (like snotspill, zhar the mad, Lazarus, gharbad)
-demons disguised as people in town (would be cool)
-more powerful types of bad guy =>
Goat => Centaur, Minotaur
Fallen => fallen brute
Knights => Demon Knight
Blunderbore => Ogres
-Random badguys that ride on horses are charge at you
- Random bandits that try to steal your gold and stuff ... these are tough times and people will do anything to get money for a piece of bread or some wisky to take the chill off the bones.
-bigger inventory/stash
- Bank and or Warehouse for item storage
-trade gold for exp (I know this seems a little cheap, but its how many Baal runs to go from lvl 96 to 97, and you have millions of dollars not going to any use)
- a lot of game companies are going for the "Item Mall business model ...
-May be hard to implement but mercs have a belt for potions, and you can set it so when the mercs life drops below a certain point, the potions in the mercs belt will be used, saving you farting around trying to heal the merc, by pressing shift + #, # of course being a number 1 – 4, or if you didn’t know that, dragging a potion to the mercs pic at the top of the screen
not hard to impliment ... they already had an inventory screne in D2 ... add a belt slot so you can stock the merc up ... with a slot interface next to your own belt slots you will be able to see when the merc is out of potions / scrolls ... a script can be coded to have the merc say "I'm out of potions" or " I need healing" and more
Bliz has pretty much the best game engin in the industry ... I see no reason why D3 couldn't use the same engine and GUI as WoW
but keep the Life and Mana Bowls to keep with the franchise appeal
-If the skill does not effectively cast, it will "fizzle", costing the user only half the mana it takes to cast the true spell and for skills to have an;

Fuck you, I'm a dragon.
If you want to arrange it
This world you can change it
If we could somehow make this
Christmas thing last
By helping a neighbor
Or even a stranger
And to know who needs help
You need only just ask
Fuck you, I'm a dragon.
''Zubin, I've always imagined you as a crazy raver. The kinda guy that spends all night dancing to trance music while waving glow sticks and popping ecstasy.'' - Murderface
I'm sure most of you will disagree, but then most of you probably made hammerdins anyway...
