Can someone please explain to me in an idiot proof way what does 4.15 breakpoint mean and what stats do i need to reach it?how do i know if i reached it?where to look etc?Thank you
The 4.15 breakpoint is only achievable using 1 handers because of the attack speed. You are essentially trying to make up your dps by having your senates attack as often as possible rather then making them hit as hard as possible. Its better to have the attacks hit harder less often than hitting faster but weaker IMO, which is why most people go with X bows or bows.
With flawless tasker and 7% ias bow, it is possible to get BP7 with a 2her. I have a BP7 Kridershot build that i use on occasion, but yeah you lose a lot of other stats in order to achieve it so it is not worth it.
At some attackspeed points (the breakpoints) your turrets will shoot faster than just under it. Any attackspeed in between 2 breakpoints is fake dps (formula gives you 4.14, you still do same amount of attacks as 2.84, but your dps shows almost 50% fake damage because attackspeed is calculated in it).
For the lightning build, you need a helltrapper, with 1.6 base attackspeed. Because of this high base speed, you are often so far past 2.84, that people do go for 4.15.
How to calculate: (base speed of weapon)*(1+attackspeed on weapon/100)*(1+attackspeed on all of your items and paragon/100)*(1+affix on taskers).
For example: helltrapper with 7% attackspeed, taskers with 7% attackspeed and a roll of 50, 2 rings with 7% attackspeed, fleeting strap with 7% attackspeed, quiver with 20% attackspeed, steady strikers with 7% attackspeed, 10% attackspeed from paragon. Gloves+rings+belt+quiver+bracers+paragon=65% attackspeed on items and paragon. Total speed: 1.6*1.07*1.65*1.50=4.2372, well above the 4.15386 you need. However, with 47% on your tasters you only get 4.152456, just under it.
Please note that I say base speed of weapon*(1+attackspeed on weapon/100). 1.6*1.06=1,696, rounded to 1.70. It can make it so you don't hit your breakpoint if you use weapon attackspeed (1.70 shown).

If the above math gives you a headache then heres a link to s spreadsheet someone made that will calculate your APS with whatever % T&T's you have.
Its also worth mentioning that gogok of switfness gives 15% additional ias.
So if you want to calculate your breakpoint with gogok you just add 15% ias to your current character sheet value (its easier to reach that 4,15 bp with 1h bows and gogok - for the lightning build where you shoot yourself and are able to stack the gogok pretty easy)

The way Sentries work that's super debatable. And good Hand XBows have almost as much raw damage as good 2H Bows anyway.
It depend son relative sentry shot rate on the breakpoints anyway.
Edit: Yah. 4.15 BP is twice as fast as any BP below it. There's no way it's not crushing previous breakpoints in DPS.

Not really. 4,15 = 5 sAPS; 2,85 = 3,333 sAPS. This is slightly above 50% more attacks, not at all "twice as fast as any BP below it" which would be a 100% increase (6,666 sAPS). Yet, there is still an inherent delay in each hatred spender used by the sentry, thus, there is not a 50% increase in DPS, but rather around 33%.
Now, since you have to use a 1h xbow, (unless BBV party) the question becomes, can you make up for the 33 % in raw dmg ? Especially factoring in the 20% ele of an etrayu as well as possible stats you loose from focussing on IAS.
BTW. I can't believe that no one posted this yet: The Tao of Sentries <--- Mandatory read for Mara DHs! + source of above.
Mistyped meant 50%. was distracted doing two posts at once. Point was the 50% more attacks is going to swamp out the raw damage difference.
A "perfect" roll on a hand crossbow results in 1175-2018 damage, a perfect roll on a bow is 1342-2305, which is a 14% average difference in damage ,and 14% holds true across non perfect rolls. Even if you assume only a 33% increase in DPS (even with a minor delay it's still going to be more than that) then you're assuming that the Etrayu is gaining 17% damage from a perfect elemental damage roll. Which it isn't. Assuming a perfect Etrayu has Dex, Damage, %Cold, %AS, Socket it's gaining at best a 9% damage difference over a % damage roll. That's assuming you have 0 other elemental damage bonuses.
Now if you assume you're comparing Calamity and Etrayu you're comparing
Damage - Damage
Dex - Dex
10% Damage - 20% cold Damage
AS - AS
Socket - Socket
Marked for Death - Nothing
The Etrayu has a natural 24% lead in damage. Calamity has a natural 33% lead in DPS multiplier and a free active skill.
for the most part i Think 2 handed weapons at a slower break point is better, each shot does more damage and a total commitment to attack speed is also going to reduce damage.
Overall I don't think any of the ranged weapons really boosts M6 in an interesting way
I think bows are best if you get 8% increased damage, maybe 2.1.2 will give crossbows better legendary properties
With the lighning build, you only use EA. EA replaces all primary attacks of your turrets. Going up a breakpoint, your output damage will scale directly with the turret attackspeed. So the picture you linked is only of use for cold/fire builds, not the new (considered best) build.
You see going from BP6 to BP7 gives you effective 67% more EA shots. So your damage scales directly with the speed of your turrets, while it doesn't with 3 spender builds (hard hitting skills are not 67% more fired as your picture showed).

2h weapons at a slower breakpoint is actually weaker. 5 attacks per second sentries destroys etrayu and by extension -> 2h crossboww. Those links that people have been posting in this thread have outlined perfectly why having a sentry shoot 5 EA per second is incredibly better than having 3 spenders.

RiffSphere post is the first time i have encountered the idea of EA only sentries

Pretty sure Calamity is winning this fight.

With only EA you have to look at this image:

Sad I know, I got a crap 40%. Costing my eyesight and a sure case of carpel tunnels trying to get another.
