You people remember how people blamed games like GTA for their kids bad behavior or their psychological problems. What I'm getting at is, what if people do the same for D3. What happens if this game is so well made with all the gore and story and what not, that the game gets banned in certain countries. Do we start a petition or do you even think this possible for starters. What's your opinion?

I don't care. People in who's countries it's banned will get it by the supreme power of the internet. All I am sorry for is Blizz getting a bit less money...
I don't think it will happen. GTA and games like that are more centered around violence towards actual humans, while in Diablo it's demons, zombies, etc.

I think it's stupid when people try to blame other things for their problems. Even if Diablo III does have some influence on a child (or anyone, for that matter), it is ultimately the persons' actions that show how it has affected them, and their actions are their responsibility. If parents can't raise their kids right and keep them from doing things that they can't handle, it's also bad parenting. At the same token, this shouldn't become an absolute, because we all know there are tons of people that can handle mature intensity, or we'd be seeing serial killers and rapists on every street.
Religion has hardly any bearing on governments, anymore, since most nearly everyone is biased against it (some with good reason, most just to follow the crowd.) The only countries I can see this being an issue in would be countries like Spain that are strictly Roman Catholic, but they are few and far between. I'm pretty sure all first-world countries that would have the technology to even play the game are secular, and shouldn't care (aside from angry parents that rave about it desensitizing children.)
When people say Video games corrupt... I just point to myself. I've been playing violent video games for 7-8 years now. I've not yet,
-gone on a shooting rampage
-killed family pets
-sodomized anyone
-tortured people
It's ridiculous.

A game like GTA 4 and other like it are so "bad" due to all the violence being done to people.
Games like Diablo where you hack and slash beasts and monsters who are evil are not the same in my mind.
Yes, there are those who think that all violence, even violence against cartoon monster trees, is horrible for the kiddies.
But I allow my 8 year old to play D2 and he has never wanted to bean his little sister or brother with a sword or attack the cats pretending they are sand leapers.
But I don't even allow him to even watch me or his 16 year old big brother play GTA 4.
I do allow the 16 year old to play GTA 4. If he is old enough to drive and gets honor roll grades and has a good looking girlfriend then I think he can tell the difference at this point between reality and fantasy violence.
I have heard lots of heat heaped upon games like Postal, GTA & even Halo, but I have never heard much about WoW or Diablo.
As a christain I will push fellow christains to play this game so they know the horrors that awaits them in hell.
And I doubt it will get banned in ANY country and I doubt blizzard will take down the gore because Im sure alot more people would by it if it has more violence and bewbs. I know the only reason I bought AoC is because of the bewbs. Minutes of entertainment!
Perhaps it won't get no where near as much bad publicity has GTA and it might not get banned for religious reasons, because religious folk that do this are often fronned upon. I just wanted to explore this possibility, since the gouvernment is having like a big cack down on these things.
Just to go a little off topic here, why has the GTA series taken so much heat for things like this when there isn't no concrete evidence that it might cause problems to a minor, but games like WOW that people (or one dumbass chinese kid) kill themselfs over don't or atleast not as much?

this is just people trying to find something other then the kid or them sleves for what the kid do's, it's pure bullshit. also though christain, religion should not be brought into these things, unless the game has messages of jew-hate or ant-christain stuff religion can stay out of it.
i dont see this happening with d3; d1 and d2 never got that much media spotlight because its just gore, not like GTA where u can rob, see hookers, drive drunk, and do drugs...

Yea, that bad publicity really killed the GTA series heh. Depending on the circumstance, bad publicity is sometimes the best publicity. Diablo won't be banned lol it isn't even remotely close to some of the worst case scenario games around. How often do these religeous nutjobs actually win anyways?

[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Hell is an Illusion......There is only Death.
fantasy games never had that kind of issues. Games like GTA, Call of Duty etc are much more realistic, as they show representations of cities and fights that are much more real. If someone manages to kill someone else using a real fireball, i'll admit. But i dont think we're ever going to witness that
i remember that when atari brought aou a game aroun 1990 about killing some crocodiles people said the game made the children more violent... some people are SO narrowed minded
To find the truth, you must risk everything.
But of course the call was useless because I already had the game in my possession.

People will find a way to get the game if it is banned. This is the world we live in!
