Why wouldn't we believe now. We have Astronaut's who have seen them and are convinced we are not alone. Given how pervasive life has proven to be, why is it surprising to anyone there is intelligent life somewhere else. We have traveled to space, does that not make us space travelers? When we sent probes to Mars, didn't that make us space aliens? Why do people resist the idea that others might have done it first on another planet and found a way to check out planets like ours?
Buzz Aldrin openly admits to seeing a UFO
and again here
These hit the news, listen to the last one, that is a NASA transmission
It's not just some shlepp sucking brews on his back porch.
Buzz Aldrin is the only credible person i've ever heard of thats claimed to have seen a UFO
But its not like he said he had an actual alien encounter... theres quite a big difference
Edit - Theres other videos on youtube with Buzz Aldrin where he says himself that he thinks with a near absolute certainty that is was a panel or man-made object. He never found out though, so technically it fits into the category of UFO... because its unidentified and flying... well, isn't everything in space flying? As far as Ive seen he hasnt mentioned anything about it changing direction in sharp angular motions or changing velocity
To be honest, i don't believe aliens to be visiting us (unless maybe talking about bacterial lifeforms frozen in asteroids, maybe even having contributed to life on earth). Its just one of those theories making a whole lot less sense then other less exciting but a lot more logical ones, natural phenomenon, hoaxes, mass hysteria, etc... hell, even secret military projects. There's so much we don't know yet, why would we jump to the conclusion they're aliens? Makes no sense at all.
Definately. Look at how many videos there are of alien ships. Thousands of people claim to have seen UFOs, or been abducted.
Why then, don't we have any irrefutable evidence? Why then are there thousands of blurry and sketchy videos and not one piece of solid evidence?
"But the military is covering it up!"
Yeah, much more likely they're covering up Black Projects. Like the F-117 Nighthawk.

I can't wait for us to invent an FTL drive so I can be the first man to either have sex with or eat an alien.

I don't think we should call ourselves space aliens. Theres a difference between putting your toe in the ocean and building a boat
We need to go back to the moon for gods sake... People say why? I say shush naysayers! Considering what NASA actually has too achieve (getting things to go into space), at the present day, I've heard they're quite underfunded. Stupid politics always getting in the way or corrupting Science and technology
If intelligent life does exist, I dont think we'll be finding them anytime soon
Don't look for information or irrefutable proof of UFO's on Youtube; there are so many fakes and hoaxes and 3D graphics programes that the only ones worth a damn are old. Look for traces of them instead, things like magnetic anomalies and radar traces.
150 years ago man could not fly and travelled by horse and cart, there was no electricity and most did not have hot water.
Now we have 2 rovers on Mars
a probe investigating the heliosphere
Nuclear weapons
Lasers as powerful as those bombs
Biotechnology and genetic engineering
The ability to see an individual molecule
Nano technolgy that enables us to manufacture on enarly an atomic scale
A computer network that touches several billion individuals
What will we have in another 150 years if we survive? What about 500 years? Will we even look the same if we allow genetic engineering on humans? What will our primary mode of transport be then, it sure as heck won't be oil.
When you make the leap to alien life imagining them visiting us is really not a big stretch at all if you can accept we know very little about anything much. We don't even know how gravity works; they theorized a particle called the Higgs boson, but what if it doesn't exist?
Going by my own religion, there are 6 more Earths like the one we live in, but without "people" on it. I don't know what the religious judgment is when it comes to animals or bacteria or whatever else being there.
Well, I was watching the history channel and they made some good points with a 17,000 year old civilization. How there are 800 ton slabs of stone that are cut so precise that even in today's standards and with our technology, it would be hard and time consuming to do.
The stone slabs were made of the second hardest material known. So, in other words, 17,000 years ago, they would have had to use diamond to cut those slabs. Of course unless they made metal that could do it back then, but that's hard to believe. Then again, so is the idea that aliens came and helped them make it.

Wow, I am not familiar with what religion that would be. What religion do you follow/are you a part of/how would you describe your beliefs?

There are probably way more than 6. There are as many galaxies as there are grains of sand on a beach, and the same goes for the number of solar systems that make up any given galaxy. The odds are inconceivable.
The Drake equation states that:
where: N is the number of civilizations in our galaxy with which communication might be possible; and R* is the average rate of star formation in our galaxyfp is the fraction of those stars that have planetsne is the average number of planets that can potentially support life per star that has planetsfℓ is the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop life at some pointfi is the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop intelligent lifefc is the fraction of civilizations that develop a technology that releases detectable signs of their existence into spaceL is the length of time such civilizations release detectable signals into space.
I don't think so, a lot of people with reputable backgrounds are now coming out these days, Buzz Aldrin was one, and just today on CNN
Former astronaut: Man not alone in universe
(CNN) -- Earth Day may fall later this week, but as far as former NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell and other UFO enthusiasts are concerned, the real story is happening elsewhere. Mitchell, who was part of the 1971 Apollo 14 moon mission, asserted Monday that extraterrestrial life exists, and that the truth is being concealed by the U.S. and other governments.
...
Mitchell grew up in Roswell, New Mexico, which some UFO believers maintain was the site of a UFO crash in 1947. He said residents of his hometown "had been hushed and told not to talk about their experience by military authorities." They had been warned of "dire consequences" if they did so.
But, he claimed, they "didn't want to go to the grave with their story. They wanted to tell somebody reliable. And being a local boy and having been to the moon, they considered me reliable enough to whisper in my ear their particular story."
At some point we need to stop asking if these people are kooks and start asking why is the government suppressing this information?
You mean asking IF the government is supressing information.
Ok, so there are a lot of people who claim to have seen UFO's. A lot of people claim to have seen Elvis. Does that mean he's alive?
Credible people have also come out. Buzz Aldrin, the ever second astronaut, constantly overshadowed by Neil Armstrong by only being the second man on the moon. Maybe he wants some attention before his death, I don't know. But I'm saying there could be a lot of scenarios other than truth compelling him and others to tell us there are aliens.
Because if there is a cover-up, it's got to be the best damn shit I've ever seen or heard of.

The government is pretty good at covering up what it wants to, even many of the so called leaks you hear about are intentional planted information. Take the alleged power plant networks being compromised or the new story on the US jet fighter project being hacked. I think those stories are a load of bull, they are more likely ruses, a big hackers carrot if you will, to get the wrong people to try and hack into the networks for the purpose of tracking their efforts. If those events really happened, they would not make the news. I can tell you with certainty the government operates more discretely than that. In my current job I have to comply the government's network standard's (STIG's) as laid down by DISA for the DoD and answer to government bodies and have been audited by the OIG.
I don't live all too far from Area 51, and many people in Vegas unofficially work at undisclosed locations, I know a number of people who have military security clearance and cannot tell me what they do. Many of them have told me "there are some things the public are better off not knowing" with respect to government secrets. Many of them do believe we are not alone, of course I never get any elaboration on what they might know.
Seen Elvis? LOL! I see Elvis here in Vegas all the time, he hangs out at the little wedding chapels.

That's too bad because we could really use more intelligent life here on earth.

Hell, that first video looked like a satellite falling out of orbit, or a meteorite burning up.
And I'd bet some of those "UFOs" were probably Nighthawks back in the 70s and 80s.

Roughly 10 years ago, Mitchell claimed, he was finally given an appointment at Pentagon to discuss what he had been told.

I mean, Area 51? My best non-alien related guess is that it is out there for nuclear weapon testing.
