"He was so deadly in fact, that his enemies would go blind through over-exposure to pure awesomeness!"
There needs to be some sort of "grace period" when you leave a town, so you don't get ganked instantly in pvp games (I've seen many games in Diablo 2 where the second you leave the town, you get hit by a million spells and die instantly) Maybe for a few seconds you don't get any penalty when you first leave the town (so no one loses all their gold or XP for a level because of getting ganked every time they leave the town)
When you die in a pvp server/room you do not need to get your body back
I would love to see team pvp, like 3v3 or pvp features like guild wars where alliances and clans fight each other, but i guess that is the same as arenas
balanced chars (well obv)
PVP titles/achievemnts
hostile button has to go
Fun pvp modes? such as ctf and stuff, could be fun...
Trading:
Trading server/room
Gold currency
As said, Auction houses or maybe a forum board trading section on the official forums?
Same trade window, but now with x gold amount to send.
Oh yea, in game storage for whole acc, like the guildwars storage system
one big trading server? like where 50 can be in it and just trade
Wants:
Bigger towns
Better looking armor
More set items, rares, and uniqes
Levels after 60 should be harder to get
level cap 100
Distinct look among characters
More customization
In-game achievements/titles, i noe that battlenet will have account based achivements but in game ones that show
friends system easier to manage
A guild system where you can chat and see chars? o that'll be cool
well i can't wait till the new battlenet and the new chars so this is my 2 cents i dont really care about the prize but just someone reading this would be g-r-e-a-t
PVP (I didn't read through all of the posts made so I am unsure if someone already posted this idea)
In diablo 1 and in Diablo 2 when you would kill people you could collect the ear of that person. Well I purpose the idea of either keeping that drop, or changing it to something else, but if you collect a certain amount of said item you can turn it into a certain NPC to receive items, gold, or other such rewards. In this example I will be using Ears as the drop, but of course thats up for you to change. Instead of having ears fill up your inventory it just goes on to a Rope of Ears and as you collect more the amount on the rope will change.
Example: 20 ears on a Rope of Ears can earn you a Necklace Made Of Ears which would give you stats better geared toward pvp.
Along with this idea, if you happen to kill a person who already has ears on him his Rope of Ears will drop and allow you to pick it up to earn a quick amount with one kill, adding an excitement element of trying to save up a certain amount.
---------------------------------------------------
Or perhaps a bounty system. One of the big challenges of Hardcore mode or just trying to level up in regular mode was PKers (Player Killers). Maybe add a menu in which you can see all the people that once killed you in which you can put a price on their head with a select amount of gold or even put an item up for the reward. That way people can earn a little extra gold/items if they happen to join a game with said person and kill him.
Can their possibly be buyable pets for every class besides just the summonable ones that some classes got in Diablo II, and to make them trainable in certain specs to improve their attack or defense etc.
Towns
what about the citizens talking to each other to make it more lively/
it would also be cool if creatures tried to get into town to be killed by the town guards defending.
I think a Gateway tradepost/auctionhouse would be a great idea, so we wouldn't have to search for randomly made trade games. If we have an item we're interested in, we can simply search it, find the owner, and send a message in the system that shows items that we are willing to trade for, he can then accept and choose the item, and the trade could be made through the system.
*I think gems should be more varied and prevalent than in diablo2, gems were almost nothing compared to runes and high geared players never really used them.
*Also, i liked seeing NPCs like in D2 Act 5 fighting demons alongside you, so adding more people fighting/fleeing in the environments would be amazing, and saving them / helping them / escorting them to town should bring some small bonus etc.
*Another cool idea would be to add GUILDS. I have always wanted an official guild/clan on d2 and im sure many people will appreciate it in D3. (tabards maybe?)
* The next idea would be to add an armor dye system. Only dropped on VERY small percentages by monsters, the colors would be incredibly rare and could give your character full of the best unique items, a unique look compared to others who may have the same as you. (These can only be used once, and are only dropped in the world, not sold on NPC vendors, so we don't see 9999 all black barbarians and etc etc)
*For mercenaries i think giving each act a merc is good, but we should be able to fully gear them, same stuff we can wear, rings and all. Possibly a limited skill set would be implemented, so you can SPEC your mercenary to do the job you need him for to some degree.
*I also think gold should be a bit more valued than it was, i could find 4 items and sell them for 35k a pop when potions and such that i need cost say, 200? Also, when gold is put in a bank it should not be affected by the death penalty, Thats why its there in the bank!
*on a side note (well 2), if there are again 5 acts or so, make act 4 have a full line of quests, not only 4 XD.
more bank space X D
One thing I want to see in Diablo 3 is aspects implemented from previous games, while not compromising the integrity that makes Diablo 3, well... Diablo 3! They must also implement aspects from the previous Diablo 2, to make the game recognizable.
Aspects that should be implemented for PvP and Trading:
-Alterable Talent Tree (Im assuming that the leveling curve has been greatly lengthened, and in turn takes longer to level, thus making changes possible in the talent tree since it will be harder to undo such changes, unlike Diablo 2, where you could hit level 90 in a full day of grinding, making alterable talent trees a waste!) This makes PvP highly customizable! Allowing you to morph and adapt to any situation!
-PvP Oriented Zones (Everyone LOVED the pvp in Diablo, it was fast paced and skill oriented, now whether you implement zones like battle grounds or simply PvP zones, more complex than outside of the Rogue Encampment However you do this, its up to your own discretion) Arena could also bring an interesting twist! isolated zone for intense group PvP!
-Synergies! Make sure you bring these back too made certain specs highly viable based on the route you took. Allowing specs to be dominant in pvp with the help of other skills and their overlapping interaction!
-Hostility/PK Everyone loved being able to kill whoever whenever!! it allowed a highly liberated version of pvp where you werent restricted to killing one faction and not being able to kill the other (Cough!). Sometimes your enemies can be found all around you, everyone needs a way to deal with them ;)!
-Group Oriented PvP!!! Nothing is more fun than killing opponents with your friends, make team battles possible, possibly even Arena! Clan matches would be amazing also!Lastly
-Keep the old Diablo 2 trading style! It kept the community tightly knit and had you search for the items that you wanted, rather than approaching an Auction House and buying whatever you want whenever! Old Diablo trading style allowed a more personal approach, allowing bartering/compromising possible!!!! I love saying "WUG" and the other person showing me what they had allowed me to pick and choose exactly what i wanted!
-Gold, was most certainly not the currency in Diablo 2!!! Bring value to gold for trading purposes, instead of Item for Item trading you can implement X gold for Item!! Allows for multiple universal currencies, besides runes and items!
I know that we have not seen much yet, but I'm hoping for a setup of an arena based dueling system. the skill tree was very simple and easy to use in D2 so i hope it will remain the same. the return of a ranger class would also be nice, but it will need a bit AOE(area of effect) attack to clear what we saw in the barb walk through. i cant wait for the next character announcement but I'm hoping that if the paladin is present there will be a similar system of auras. (offensive ex:holy shock)
The simple point and click trading would be best but if there is a chat room for it (like the channels in D2) it would make it so much easier
I trust Blizzard will know what to do

The Three Tenants of The Hashshashin Brotherhood

Tenant 2: Hide in plain sight. Let the people mask you that you become one with the crowd
I would like to see it able for you to create a game purely for trading, or perhaps a dedicated Trade game hosted by Blizzard that never closes. This would ensure people would be able to find things faster and easier.
However that is not saying the Diablo 2 trading interface was not completely bad either - using the trade channel proved to help out well.
WoW's auctionhouse was a big success - maybe make something like this in D3.
The one thing I really do not want to see though is Dupes, which threw the D2 economy into the trash.
Also, a solid currency isn't always required. It makes things a lot easier but it's also fun to trade for example my Cracked Dirk for your Ethereal Dirk.
PVP
Please, please, please implement Guilds. Guilds could be fun in the world and rival guilds could develop - maybe make it possible for one guild to set another to hostile and whenever a player encounters someone in the opposing guild, a fight must emerge unless they place a treaty on each other.
If plans are to make it like Diablo II, make sure outside of one of the towns are open and good to PVP on.

Something that caused a great deal of stress on some people was the fact that you could walk into a game and when the boss died it was a race to see who picked up the item. I think a rolling system like WoW's is extremely necessary, even though when you're the person who gets the items that drops it's a pretty good feeling =]
Trading Features
- Follow what WoW is doing, they are doing a great job in curbing scamming and stuff.
- In additional to that, add on an auction house in the lobby or something, that is going to be great. Pro and cons tho, auction houses will further prevent scams and will have players the choice to choose from the best price, the con is players will have less communication like in D2 where things are traded cause everything is done through AH.
- Make gold /coins hard to come by, make it the universal trading currency. Gold has more function like you can buy entry to certain dungeon or certain enchant. Important thing is, don't make gold just for the sake of repairing your armor. like in D2, who cares you have 160000000 gold or you have 5000 gold.
PVP Features
- PVP title
- Everytime you kill a player, there is a ramdom possibillity that will drop a key, this key or invitation will be used for a unique dungeon / battlefield / Arena with unique loot where you don't get it through normal PVE.
- Arena style of PVP, like in WoW
- scrolling combat text style, when you crit, you get screen shake or nice big numbers coming out.
If the developers could find a way to implement "PvP-only" based games, they could limit the area of the map much smaller, and place more than 4-5 players in a game. PvP-only games would hold 8-10 players instead - therefore making teams larger and more advanced to play against.
Here are a just a few of my many ideas for PvP:
Hostile Free-for-all (Respawn after Death)
All players in the game are hostile against each other and will fight for the death. Hostile Free-for-all will be held in one of a number of different Coliseums, as well as open land, and dungeons, where players battle in a fixed (or randomized) area. Lut Gholein's Arena for example could be an Arena map. The Bloor Moor could be an outdoor randomized map - as well as a classic look back at Diablo II's most popular killing fields! Time limits and score can be kept for "Ranked Matches" (That's where the competitive PvP takes place).
Hostile Team Free-for-all (Respawn after Death)
Teams of 2, 3, 4, or 5 are hostile against each other and fight for the death. Team Free-for-all would take place in small outdoor, dungeon, or even arena maps - just like regular Free-for-all. Time limits and score can be kept for "Ranked Matches".
Hostile Capture the Flag (Or perhaps, Capture the Gem or something of the like)(Respawn after Death)
Teams of 2, 3, 4, or 5 are hostile against each other and must fight to capture the opponents flag and bring it back to their shrine. Upon retrieval of the flag, the winning team scores 1 point, and recieves a small buff to attributes, armor, attack rating, or even skill levels. Each buff is different and random as the score goes higher. Since the gameplay will be intensly fast and relatively easy, buffs will stack later on in the game and grant the players stronger abilities. If Capture the Flag is designed and plays out like I am thinking, you could seem games with scores of 100 or more in a one-hour game. Time limits and score can be kept for "Ranked Matches". Note - successfully capturing a flag requires your own flag to still be in it's shrine. Attacking while carrying the flag is legal. Multiple flags can be carried by one person. Team Capture the Flag takes place in an arena, dungeon, or outdoor map.
Free-for-all Capture the Flag (Respawn after Death)
All players are hostile against each other and must fight to capture any of the opponents flags and bring it back to their shrine. Upon retrieval of the flag, the scoring player scores 1 point, and recieves a small buff. Each buff is different and random as the score goes higher. Since the gameplay will be even faster than Team Capture the Flag, buffs will stack later on in the game and grant the players super-strong abilities much like Team Capture-the-flag. Time limits and score can be kept for "Ranked Matches". Note - successfully capturing a flag requires your own flag to still be in it's shrine. Attacking while carrying the flag is legal. Multiple flags can be carried by one person. Free-for-all Capture the Flag takes place in an arena, dungeon, or outdoor map.
Elimination (Respawn after round ends)
All players are hostile against each other and must fight to be the last one standing. Time limits and score can be kept for "Ranked Matches". Elimination takes place in an arena, dungeon, or outdoor map.
Team Elimination (Team respawns after round ends)
Same as Elimination, only with teams of 2, 3, 4, or 5 players.
Hi,
For trading I would actually like to see some sort of auction system.
Currently I play WoW and I really enjoy the auction system that they have inplace.
It would be a nice addition if the auction system would be linked to actual webpages, like an online bazaar almost.
So when a person puts up an auction, Diablo's site would display the items being put up and ideally allows other players to bid thru the site as well. This would allow players who are looking for rare items to keep watch for them even when they aren't in game.
As for PVP, titles and vanity items would be nice or maybe even auras or cool glows coming from the characters with high ranking.
I wish the best for the DF team and hope many of the forum posters remain here long after the game is released.
I will also go on and state that I wish the DF team will keep up to date information, as well as unannounced announcements >.> regarding such games as like say Diablo 4.
I will always be checking in on these forums from time to time posting, reading, and overall looking for information.
For the game I would like to see Multi Trading, between more then one player, as well as an auction house type system that goes in the catagories of Weapons, Chest, Legs, Rings, Boots, Gloves, Shoulders and Helms, and the Auction house system follows your character around so people can check what other characters on there server have for sale, rather then having to spam what they have.
This system will also help players trade more items then the inventory will allow.
PvP: I would like to see it as a real life scenario.
Melee: If you attack someone from behind, you should have a chance to strike their spinal cord and stun or slow them down for a while, slowing causing damage over time. And weapons should be able to slowly take damage if u parry with a weapon, eventually making it break, or making it fall out of your hands.
-Also, when you attack, I'd like to see wounds on the target where you attack them. Crushing blows can lead to broken bones, critical hits can lead to deep wounds.
-I'd like to see a new form of damage amplifier called counter blow - You have a chance to counter their attack, and they become defenseless after they're countered making the next hit cause more damage.
Trading- This can be a way to make trading safer from being scammed. After you both click accept, you can see the picture of the item being traded with the name of it next to it in a new window. That way when you click accept again, you know someone wasn't trading you the same look of the armor without the same name. So if he was trading the wrong item, you could click decline and save yourself from a scammed trade.
-I'd also like to see a new type of trading system instead of making a game called Mara for Lidless or something like that, add in something called an armory or whatever you decide and people can search for a specific item and the name of the player who wants to trade it. People can put in the item they want to sell and their name shows up as Seller: "name". So instead of spending a day in a game with the name Mara 4 Lidless, you can get a whisper anytime saying I have a lidless for your mara or something like that. Also i'd like to see item linking so people can see the quality of the armor: If It's 436 armor instead of a perfect quality if it was 450.
With regards to trading, I predict that the new battle.net will have some social networking features. One could be a trading profile. In the this profile a player would be able to list items they are seeking, as well as items they have for trade. This could include pictures of the items with stats, either that the item they are selling has, or that the are looking for an item with these stats.
This way if a player had just found an item ingame, and had no need for it but knew that it was valuable they could simple go into the trading section of the interface, be it ingame or a trading section on battle.net(As in not in the actual game but in the battle.net interface) mark the item as "For Trade", and perform a search for players seeking that item and through some system, either leaving a message or maybe clicking on the listed item in their profile, they would notify the person that they had the item they were looking for. Or someone might perform a search for people trading that item and leave a message saying they are interested.
The person who is looking for the item in question would either get a message the next time they log on, listing the person who has the item and maybe a suggested item they would take for payment, or they would be notified while in whatever game they were in. From there they could open a trade window if both parties are currently online and complete the transaction.
This system would be good because:
It would keep the game with an item based economy.
It would facilitate people being able to quickly find an item they are looking for as well as sell an item they have and someone may need.
It would keep the cool feature of the original Diablo II economy where a person with limited funds can get rich by trading smart.(I loved this facet of the Diablo economy, starting off with one item and then trading it to a player in need for several items, that would spark more trading, and an endless and addicting cycle:D)
*A universal stash for an account would be awesome but if that is not included hopefully a mailing system will be(Hint, Hint)*
PVP
As for PVP, I really would like it if Diablo III did not implement a system like battlegrounds on WoW, but did support things like tournaments, maybe with variations like 2v2 and 3v3. This could even lead to Diablo III being a major league tournament game like WoW is!!!! I like the idea of pvp rankings and ratings, maybe with a reward. This reward should not be an item but like a badge that is displayed in their Blizzard account.
If someone just wanted to duel for fun they could enter or create a game that is designated as Free For All(Battle Royale) or Duels(In which players would approach each other in town and agree to a duel, and then be hostile to each other but while dueling, no one else can interrupt)
I like the idea that when you kill someone you maybe get an ear, and there is a slot in your inventory exclusively for ears and it would basically be a counter of all of your wins while dueling. Also having your pvp stats in your Blizzard Account would be pretty awesome.
Another idea that I have is competitive but not as in direct combat between players. A feature where you and a party of your friends fight endless waves of monsters, accumulating points. Basically you try and set the top score for your realm.
:thumbsup:I have faith in you guys at Blizzard. I have been a diablo fan since the first one and I cannot wait to see the amazing final product.
I would like to make a suggestion about the inventory system. A lot of people like the grid setup because they can see full size images of their items, it makes it feel more real and the like their items even more. However a lot of people dont like to play tetris with their gear to make it fit. my suggestion is they can put a counter in the corner of the inventory, each item takes up 1 spot. But make it look like the grid inventory so people can see their stuff. Make the inventory page, lets say a 15 x 30 grid(just a suggestion). Each item will take up the alotted grid space(ie: 2h weapons 6(3x2) or 8(4x2), pots only 1 space, ect.) but when the grid fills or large items cant fit it makes a 2nd page for the inventory that you can scroll to. That way people still get the grid setup to see full size items and feel like they are carring them while others dont need to micro manage their inventory to make stuff fit. Each item will only take up 1 spot and when that counter maxes out it will say not enough inventory.
In Diablo 2, there were trade channels set up for each realm. Players would join this channel and preach their items for sale/items they wanted.
I liked this system in that the player had to be sociable to deal trades, but it obviously needs an overhaul. While I want the game to stay away from the MMO-type auction house setup, I think incorporating an MMO type game just for trading would be very interesting.
Imagine joining games created specifically for trading where many more people could join than the normal adventure game. In this game, a large city is available but there are no adventure zones or dungeons. Players join this game (much like the old trade channel) to see what people have for sale or are in search of. Maybe allow players within this game to "set up shop" so to speak and set specific prices for items they want to get rid of. Other players may wander around the city and view what each player has up for sale in their "shop" by clicking on that player and if they like the price that was set, they purchase the item.
I remember a different game that has a similar trading function and it was fun to wander from player to player seeing what they had up for sale. I think it could spice up the barter/trade system a lot without throwing everything onto a free-for-all auction house.
I buy gold and silver, it's a lot harder in real life than shwacking a couple undead creatures to get even a fraction of that gold. Ah but it's fun to play and listen to it hit the ground even if it's fake.
I would like to see a interface in b.net that allows us to see what other players are offering and would allow us to post what we were selling as well. It doesnt have to be like an auction house, I would like it if you could post up what you were looking for to trade.
example listing: Silks of the victor want to trade for two stones of jordan.

Something that caused a great deal of stress on some people was the fact that you could walk into a game and when the boss died it was a race to see who picked up the item. I think a rolling system like WoW's is extremely necessary, even though when you're the person who gets the items that drops it's a pretty good feeling =]
Thank you for listening, good luck

Item look -
With regards to trading, I predict that the new battle.net will have some social networking features.
I think it could spice up the barter/trade system a lot without throwing everything onto a free-for-all auction house.
example listing: Silks of the victor want to trade for two stones of jordan.
