Edited: Totally wrote on the wrong subject.

I think a Gateway tradepost/auctionhouse would be a great idea, so we wouldn't have to search for randomly made trade games. If we have an item we're interested in, we can simply search it, find the owner, and send a message in the system that shows items that we are willing to trade for, he can then accept and choose the item, and the trade could be made through the system.

I have no issues with the art direction, but i found thsi comment pretty cocky

"We wanted an art style that really feels like Blizzard. And we pull new influences from a lot of areas. I think people over-emphasize the ‘World of Warcraft’ comparison. But are we influenced by ‘World of Warcraft’? Of course. As I think anyone who makes games nowadays, they have to be."

posted a message on Diablo and Item Buyers
    Quote from "blizter" »

Buying items is unfair because people with more real-life money will end-up having better gears than people playing more hours. What will you think, after you spent many hours in the game, got your nice gear, and then you invite your friend to the game. He buys all his items, better than yours. He didn't even play 1 day. If you don't think it's unfair then you have problems understanding online competitions.

Why do you care so much what the next guy has in a game. Why does anyone for that matter. The way i see it is this: The gear i have matters to me, and possibly a group of 3-4 friends i've been adventuring through the game with. No one else online gives 2 sh!ts about what i have unless they have larger issues than those blowing RL money on in game stuff.

Don't you honestly think its more fun to have the items between Point - Broke, and Point - Uber. Just because said friend has Uber Gear, hes going to burn out/have less fun with the game than you are because you're constantly seeing more and more of the content.

IMO, People can Buy/Sell/Trade ingame for RL currency/items all they want, its of no consequece to me. If anyone tries to say it is, they're speaking objectively because i could never care less if someone has better gear for than me for 1/2 the effort, I get my enjoyment out of the game my way, not by constantly worrying "zomg this guy has so much cooler gear than i do, i'm not going to enjoy the game till i have what he has, too bad i actually have to work for it and he bought it" Oh well...

And refering to what someone said earlier "I don't care if anyone buys items online as long as it was legit and not from a cheat" Thats my view.

I think on single player it is fun, but if you are on B.net and you get rushed, and are just starting hell you wouldn't get past the blood moor.

well i mean, you can't expect to get rushed to hell and fight everything, and on Bnet people develope games to level in unconventional ways, such as Baal runs and others of the sort. So you're caught up.

    I hope it isn't like beat normal/nm/hell.

It was boring, I don't want to play the same thing 3 times in a row.

i've played the game probably 100+ times in a row i don't mind. The increased difficulty made it more fun ;)

In other words: Cain himself doesn't expect to die for many, many years in D2. Which perfectly explains why he's still alive 20 years later, imo.

I don't expect to die within the next 60-70 years, doesn't mean i will live that long.

You could however explain it as if Cain went to live in heaven till Sanctuary needed him. Or members of the Horadrim*sp* bloodline live longer than most.

Yes, my lightning sorc does have telekinesis maxed due to the synergy with energy shield.

I've also had a fire sorc who had 15 devoted to tele so she could outduel orb sorcs who only placed 1 in tele.

And if Tele was only a 1-5 point skill, you're insight would be wasted because everyone would be the same in that field.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe you played D2.

But it's really hard, because.. I just ran 15 baal runs in a row with someone who didn't even have skill points placed and no one ever said a word about it.

The way Diablo gameplay works is that even the most ruined craptastic build can still be feasible, however you may just be making the game more difficult for yourself.

As to the topic, boo on less ability to customise skills. Half of the game was putting fore-thought into your build.

In D2 you can gain a total of 110 skill points by 99. That's a fairly decent amount. If just 4 skills per tree where converted to maxing at 10, you could easily grab all the super powerful stuff from every tree and have maxed synergies for them. That would basically turn everyone into the same class. Why be a smitadin when you could be a smitadin AND a hammerdin, or why be a minionmancer when you can be a poisonmancer at the same time.

I fail to see how this would be an improvement, unless you enjoy cookie-cutter classes.

This is the exact point i'm trying to make, if some skills are being brought down to 5, or 10, its obvious they're less for a reason, and everyone will end up getting them no matter which build they get because they are less of an investment.

And to the comments about telekinesis and Teleport, Did you ever max them, i know i didn't but the option was there. Just because the points are available doesn't mean they must be put there.

I don't know if this has been brought up before, i'm sure it has been at least mentioned somewhere. However, what bugs me about the skills in diablo 3, is that its not 0/20 across the board like in D2, there are 0/5 0/10 0/20 Skills, similar to the WoW talent trees.

Yes i know it puts me in the category of "zomg too much like WoW" but really its just my preference. One thing i loved about D2 was the ability to pump skills up to rediculous amounts. Another fear is that they may do away with + to skills, so we won't see 30/20 or 10/5 type skills...

Anyone else have a similar or opposite opinnion, i'd like to hear it.

great post and i agree with everything because you are thinking logically. unlike 80% of the whiners on this site.

the only thing i disagree with you on is the light radius. if we are underground in a dungeon or in a cave it would be harder to see. i know they are trying to visually brag about how much better the game looks however that can definately still be done given the circumstance of being underground/in a cave.

Thanks, and yeah, they should be able to do a light radius as well as compliment the scenery of the area, backgrounds/backdrops can bit lit, just give a dimmer foreground.
