I wasn't going to but the more I think about it, how can you beat experiencing brand new Diablo with the possibility of permanent death? Not knowing what's around the next corning and knowing EVERY corner might kill you?
It might slow me down at first with a few deaths but I can't think of any better way to experience Diablo 3!
Playing through on softcore sounds better to me from the start, play it through relaxed and really enjoying the story. After that I'll probably keep a hardcore active most of the time, when I'm feelin it to play. Never really got into hardcore in d2, I think my highest was like a level 60. Too frustrating to die.
However I would've played through softcore in the first place first due to me wanting to appreciate the story in its fullest without having the frustrations of gameplay weighed down upon me.
I will still play it like HC by deleting the character if it dies. I might also ask Blizzard to wipe all the contents on any death of a character and start from scratch. I may ask them if they could remove the shared stash and the shared artisans.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.
It would be the best way. I'm going to play with hardcore in mind, but I don't think I'll be going to such extremes as Hans since I do want to finish the story also.
For me the best way to experience the game is to actually allow for all the lore to sink in, because I haven't really experienced the D2 storyline that well, as my first character in D2 was boosted a few years ago.
I think that's the case for lots of players. Given the D2 story wasn't really that prevalent in the game. Yes it was there, and for those who were really into it there were more to be found in books and such, but in-game it felt more of an excuse to just go kick some demon ass! Which wasn't a bad thing of course, but I'll surely enjoy the more story-driven experience this time. As well as the repolished lore with the Book of Cain.
Play through softcore as a class you're not fully interested in to learn more about it (I assure you all classes will be fun) and to really absorb the story, taking your time and enjoying the game.
Then, roll the class you really wanted to play in Hardcore mode, and take it nice and slow !

Before hearing this I was going to go hardcore from the start but now I'm planning to finish normal before making my hardcore character.

I remember saying this when I accidentally made a softcore character in diablo 2. It died and I didn't delete it

Then, HC all the way.
Never say never! It was something like 5 years before I ventured into hardcore in Diablo 2.
