On Day 1 during the first panel, the Devs more then once said. We got something special for you guys tomorrow!
I was hoping for the Second Expansion, since ur adding monsters and new maps, where you can do bounties on. I was thinking they are notmaking an region for just one bountie so i was hoping for act 6 and an Expansion.
Yea what the heck happened there, they said there was a surprise for the second panel, but it was just everything that was already planned. Still excited about all the cool changes coming, but I'm kind of disappointed considering it felt like they were leading up to some big announcement.

I guess they were referring to creating a new legendary item with ideas from the community.
Has anyone made a screenshot of a whiteboard from Legendary Workshop panel, where the ideas were written? The ones highlighted in green were approved by the devs and might be implemented into the game at some point.

That is not something what the community want.. Yeah its epic to get your own legendary make the game. But i wanted an expansion not someone wet dream legendary.
I know WTF Blizz there is no way the Legendary Workshop was a special. I loved yesterdays panel i was expecting a few more awesome announcements and something "Special". I thot they were gonna announce a new pvp mechanic or somethin lol. Or a new objective besaide rift bounty greater rift lol. Oh well yestardays was awesome but i cant believe i waited all day for todays panel......

Any word on what player item/items were selected? I have looked and looked and can't find even a mention of it.
Why get a RorG? They said there will be "ancient" versions for ALL legendaries/sets, so that would include RorG. I know any % stat (as/cc/cd) on them wont change, but you'll miss out on 250 mainstat.
Just collect crafting mats and gems I'd suggest. They hinted in the past that they would do something with gems (when rerolling rings/amulets with only marquise, people who crafted their gems up complained about that, and they said to hold on to them since they were planning something with it), and they added a gem and crafting mats goblin, hinting again we might need a big amount of them (I hope).
Anyway, everything will be equally bad, including a RorG.

I *think* the one they picked was a Wizard source that rotated it's elemental damage bonus. An example would be, every 10 seconds the Wizard would get like a 3x damage bonus on a random element, to help support a tal rasha / multi ele play style.
The big surprise for me was that they spent 2 days and a ton of money engaging the fans of a game that has already been sold. I expected them to discuss the direction D3 was heading, their intentions etc, discuss season 2 and maybe show a few new items. Instead, a full smorgasbord of offerings and discussion. For free. For a game already sold.
They walk the walk, I'll give 'em that. Agree or disagree with their philosophies, like the ideas or not, they care. They have little reason to pour such effort into a game they sold 6 months ago, but they do it anyway.
Pretty damn cool. I especially enjoyed the part where they discussed Josh effectively confronting the whole group at a meeting about the AH's. Where he just sat there saying nothing until the president asked why he wasn't speaking. He apparently chimed right in with "Kill it. Kill the AH's".

Josh is a fuckin rockstar IMO.
This, all this. Cant think of a game that isn't on a subscription where you get this much development for free.

I like the Ancient tier. At first, I was pissed....oh I was hot when I first saw the screenshot. I saw it as just another sweeping power creep that would reckon all our items obsolete overnight. Then I learned how rare they are. Perfect IMO. Exactly what the grind addicts need. An actual chance at an ultra-rare upgrade. For me, it's not whether or not I find these items. It's the prospect of potentially finding them that provides the hook.

Oh yea for sure. I love Josh M. and I think he was the perfect replacement. I thought Jay was really nice, and probably had really good intentions, but they just tried SO HARD not to be D2, that it screwed them up.
And yea, I'm totally stoked for Ancient items, that was something I didn't see coming. Same thing with the whole new area, I expected maybe new rift maps, but this sounds like an actual area, with a WP and everything, so that's really cool. Brand new sets? Yes fuckin sir. New stand alone legendaries? Hell yes. Better goblins, one of which will drop blood shards? Pretty please. There was a lot of good announcements, and I'm pretty positive they kept saying patch 2.1.2 would be really soon, with some of what was announced to be in a later patch. So all in all, a good times for D3 at blizzcon, when they had Hearthstone / Hots and OW take center stage.
But, I really wish they wouldn't have built up some 'surprise' for Saturday, when everything that was talked about was already pretty much announced.
Ancient items are definitely a good thing. The drop rate has gotten so high that everyone pretty much has the same gear endgame. There isnt much separation between players. This new rare tier (supposedly 5-10% chance for a leg to be Ancient on T6) will create some of that separation between the players that are more dedicated.
