They actually do, new characters can allocated Paragon Points directly from Level 1.
But if they choose not to they're not forced to.

elvy makes a good point though. Sure, we'd get more appearance variability solely with loot 2.0 than we have now, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the item that you've set your eyes on will also look good. Transmog fixes that problem.
Agreed. Loot 2.0 could provide all the diversity in the world but its not going to realistically bring all gear encompassing variety that transmog will bring. -

LoN needed a nerf but 100% is too small.
Why would anyone use LoN over Focus and Restraint? Focus and restraint are two separate 50% multiplicative bonuses which is a net 125% gain from the rings. Plus, you're still able to use the high mulplitiers from 6 set bonuses with focus and restraint.

Not a fan of brackets. I think having a competitive rift mode ( in which you go for leaderboard rankings) where paragon is capped after 800 is the best solution. People with high paragon would still enjoy their benefits out side of the leaderboard competitions but if they wish to compete, it equalizes the field.

A few reasons.
1. Barbs/monks/saders have a 30% innate damage reduction.
2. Armor and all resists are treated the same way in damage reduction calculations. Armor is just all resists. It calculates your total mitigation by multiplicatively applying your reduction from all resists and armor (among other modifiers as well that reduce damage). Your total mitigation from armor and resists is 1- ((1-armor reduction)(1-resists reduction)). Hover over your armor and resists values to find the damage reduction from each and apply it to the equation, you'll see that your barb has a higher damage mitigation value.
3. You're also healing a lot more with the barb with blood funnel.
4. Waste set has 40% reduction when ww.

Was bound to happen. It was way over powered to be immune to damage 95% of the time when you can just perma seven strike. The build will be fine. It's a slight dps nerf as you wont be able to seven strike as much. The build was op to begin with so we'll see how it pans out.

The people that are ok with the current system are people that dont play much and/or not competitive. The problem is, you feel compelled you have to do mindless speed runs all day, every day, to keep up and be competitive. I'd rather spend my time pushing higher GRs, solo and group, but you can't do that without spending 95% of your in game time doing speed runs.

Great post bagstone. Unfortunately, this issue likely wont be addressed until the expansion which would be pretty much reset everyone. They'll likely make changes to the paragon system then.
I really don't like the current implementation at all. Im p1100 on seasons and every time I log on, I feel like I'm wasting my time if I don't do speed runs. I haven't been playing much lately, and I just see myself slipping further back behind people.

Zdps rolands is the way to go but its more difficult to play. It allows for tighter grouped monsters and also allows the sader to be the one locking the rift guardian which frees up the wd for more buffs.
It's not required though, they're are groups that do 70+ with just the standard zdps sader and perma stun wd.

Certain clans are infested with botters. The "Dragon" clan, about half of them bot. It's pretty sad.

There's on down time. I run it. Buff is always up, you just cycle between those two abilities. There's a reason all the top wd on the PTR run F+R. If you want to be different for the sake of it or you just prefer it, thats fine but don't claim its more damage.

Why do you keep saying F+R is 50%? it's a total of 125% boost. Both sides of F-R will always be up. The skills you use (grasp of the dead, piranhas) to proc zuni set buff also proc the one side of F+R.
