Yea, ACT 5, The Crusader, Rifts, Bounties, Gambling, The Mystic, Enchanting, Xmoging, Level 70, New skills and passives, New legendaries, ect. I can't believe they have the stones to charge $39.99!!!
I think Torment 1 should be avaiable for level 60 if Master is too easy. They basically removed Mp10 for max level vanilla chars, and if you don't buy the expansion (i don't know why, but someone could not) you will lack the challenge you experience right now.
So what? That's not right for people who choose not to buy the expansion. I'm buying the expansion so it doesnt bother me. But you shouldnt kill a game off just because people dont want to upgrade. I'm almost as big as a Blizz defender as you are but not that far.
If they implement ladders which they most likely will , then Torment is too hard for level 60 IMO.
They have to adjust Master difficulty alittle bit and then if you look at loot 2.0 , you can see that they have lowered the damage everybody can dish out if you play self found and increased the EHP ,doubt Master would be a walk in the park if you played self found purely , it might not be the hardest but since they are not separating RoS and Vanilla , it is like WoW , without the expansion the game is dead and if you actually like D3 there is nothing in Vanilla changed from RoS except less features and no reason not to buy(I understand the principle that you don't want to feel forced to buy it and you want to buy it whenever you like , but that's how it is , vanilla in old state was broken anyways).

What games have you played where Vanilla meant anything after an expansion came out? I find it hard to believe that there is truly anyone out there that loves Vanilla D3 so much but is so appalled by RoS that they will continue steadily playing without upgrading. Loot 2.0 should be enough for those who can't scrape together $40.
this is really a big step back. not really impressed with ROS and $40 too
please can we have torment on patch 2.01
You are posting in the wrong foums if you want your voice to be heard by those that matter.
I do agree that the game will be toast for anyone who doesn't buy the expansion however, and if the stated goal by Blizzard to not make the purchase of the expansion mandatory is genuine, they need to find a way to make 2.0.1 comparable to 1.8 in terms of replayability.

So because the difficulty got re-scaled for the entire game, that's now considered 'killing the game off'? Sorry but it doesn't make sense to keep N/NM/H/I and MP 1-10, and then also have the brand new system. The highest difficulty is blocked by the need for a level 70, which is expansion only, which means to play it you'll have to buy the expansion. With paragon 2.0 removing the MF bonus, and MF pretty much being done away with, the ONLY thing vanilla players are losing is a bit of difficulty in terms of scaled mob HP and DMG, but nothing else. It's a pretty trivial problem.
It's a not a trivial problem. The difficulty is absurdly easy. I made a new character, using only gear I found on the ptr and I still stream rolled through master, there's no challenge. Enemies on master have 1/3 the health pool they do on mp10 live right now. My brand new monk on the ptr with only ptr gear had 90k dps, still no challenge. In fact what I do is have a friend with RoS create torment games for me, thats how I play on the ptr to test out builds. Or else, it doesnt matter what build you run, master is too easy.
But like I said, I'm probably one of the most excited about RoS so it doesnt bother me. I'll be playing as soon as the clock passes 12am, the 25th.

No, it really is too easy. Even playing a new character purely with 2.0 gear found, you can play on master from lvl 1 through 60 without too much issues (without using paragon points even). The problem is that, they would essentially break a game you have bought. It's almost like saying that if you want to continue playing this game, you need to buy the expansion.
It's like Microsoft making updates to windows 7 which introduces major performance issues, and saying that if you want to regain that performance loss, you now have to upgrade to windows 8.
And yes, there are many games where people prefer to play the vanilla. Even 5 years after the release of LoD, D2 classic still had a strong playerbase. And it's the same with many other games.
In the end, it comes down to the business side of things. With RMAH gone, there is NO percentage for Blizzard in putting a huge investment into making Vanilla particularly special w/o buying RoS. You can bitch about that all you want and/or call them greedy all you want, but it doesn't change the central fact.
Anyone hardcore enough to want to farm Torment will just have to buy RoS, or go play something else. Blizzard's probably not going to change this one.
Its not just the difficulty got rescaled, mob density and the pace of the game was significantly reduced. MP1 act 1 has probably 2.5X the monsters as Master on the PTR. The game just isn't nearly as fun with fewer things to kill, especially when those few things die way too fast.
and on top of all that all cool specs are nerfed
patch 2.0.1 bring all the bad stuff, and we have to wait for good stuff until ROS
I've seen more variety of specs in 2.0 than Live. I dont see that as a bad thing. In addition, I doubt 2.0 and RoS launches will be that far apart, so the hardship will be minimal.

Wah.
Torment is in patch 2.0.1 beta. Do you mean PTR?
Then the answer is "no".
PTR is scaled with the beta, which means level 60 master is way easier then it should be, and it should be fixed. Keep that in mind.

They have to adjust the difficulty for non-expansion people or allow Torment difficulty. If not, the vanilla game is dead.

Of course Master is too easy...most people complaining are using AH bought mp10 stat gear.

Guys.. don't try to reason with Bleu42.. it's a waste of time, he is a fanatic, it's a lost cause.
