It seems they were more serious about an RoS beta by the end of 2013 than most of us took them for, huh? While they might miss that deadline, it surely is much further along than we thought at Gamescom.
Public Test Region Access Also Coming Soon
Around the same time we begin our Reaper of Souls Closed Beta, we will also be launching our Public Test Region (PTR) for Patch 2.0.1! This patch will feature updates including Paragon 2.0, Loot 2.0, our new difficulty system, the addition of Clans and Communities, as well as balancing and tuning for all five Diablo III classes. Anyone with the Battle.net Desktop App and Diablo III license will be able to participate in PTR testing. If don't already have the Battle.net App, you can download and install it by clicking the button below.
PTR coming so too, but does this mean we are forced to use the Desktop App in order to participate in PTR?

They're planning on phasing out individual launcher support for all the games anyway.
I like it because the battle.net launcher means you need to authenticate less frequently. Since I got my Hearthstone beta key, honestly, I find it much more convenient.
And for crying out loud, anyone reading this, understand what is a F&F beta. I've seen SO many people asking "how to get into this beta". I mean, wtf guys

I just hope it doesn't turn into all the beta key complaining that Hearthstone created

Just look at the new Inna. The only interesting thing about it is the new 4-piece bonus (grants base effects of all 4 mantras at all times), the stats are EXACTLY the same as they used to be, but with higher rolls and divided into Primary and Secondary
I'm not attempting to argue with you - although I, personally, would like to see more items and know the actual stat ranges (part of the big problem with items now is their completely fucking massive stat ranges) before judging TOO much. I do think that this is something that will be scrutinized, though, and I don't think you're wrong for saying it.
One thing I will point out is that segregating primary/secondary stats is a fairly major change to itemization. A lot of our current item rolls would be completely impossible with this system and it goes a way to breaking up trifecta and general DPS-dominated items.
The other thing I will point out is that most of the streams I saw, once the characters got to around level 64 the decay on Life Leech had become *very* obvious and the general lack of defensive stats was much more than apparent which may, generally, hint at the fact that removing life leech in and of itself has made a sizable impact on what stats we'll actually want.
Ok, F&F beta and the important ppl are in, like 1% of the d3 community, so I asume this month will also the PTR for loot 2.0 be up or Im wrong?
We have had absolutely no confirmation if there will be separate beta tests for the expansion and the pre-patch or if they will do it how WoW has been doing it for years and have a single beta test that incorporates both. I'm hoping for the latter because it helps speed up the process while providing for a more robust testing experience because all the stuff is given more face time. Essentially you might get three months with EVERYTHING instead of two month with RoS and two month with the pre-patch.
I checked out the Diablofans stream a bit before work today, and saw some items, namely the new Inna set and the Bounty legendary rewards... and it seems to me that the itemization has barely evolved at all, if any ... just higher stats, still same old crap... still mainly random properties on Legendaries... There's the added Orange property that admittedly adds flavor and probably build-changing potential, but the base items and properties are just as uninteresting as they used to be. I mean, come on, it took them a YEAR or more for Loot 2.0 and they didn't really fundamentally change anything? Just slap on some flavor property, increase numbers and boom Loot 2.0?
I'm really not quite sure what you've been watching... also keep in mind they haven't even unlocked level 70, highest difficulties and therefore don't have access to many of the new items.

Apparently there is no NDA? Jaetch is streaming and if he weren't allowed to I know he wouldn't be.

I demand you speak on the stream. I need voices to associate with people who are delivering my Diablo news to me!
