I've been thinking about this.. A lot of players, me including say that they are only playing seasons till they get the stash tab. And the longer we do this.. the harder it becomes to force ourselves.. Me? i play season SOLELY for stash tab. I don't give a damn about seasonal leaderboards, cause there's always no-lifers who will outsit me for sure. And i have almost all the gear for all classes that i need.
Since there's no exclusive gear added to seasons anymore = it's just the stash tab...
From time to time I leave Diablo, playing some other games and then come back. I play for fun (when I can find it), clearing those journeys and then switch to other games. Last season my personal goal was GR80 (play only 2-3H daily, job, wife, kid etc), cleared it after I finished SJ and then quit. Playing mostly solo and when time allows me.
It's the fresh start for me, so of course I would play without the stash tab carrot in front of my face. I am not a pack rat, so to be honest all the extra stash tabs for me are empty anyway. Lol.
I play season just to get the tab and cosmetics. Only about an hour or two a week to play so I would rather not invest the time in leveling and gearing up again, but cosmetics have always appealed to me and the tab doesn't hurt.
Take those away and I would gladly stay NS indefinitely.
I guess to sum up what I am reading, most people agree with me.
The experience of starting over is far more exciting and entertaining than the experience of spending 3 months looking for ONE UPGRADE ONLY in Non-Season. To make it better, you can get that ONE UPGRADE in the season and then have your fully geared Non-Season when over, but the process of farming it is so much more fun when you have achievements to unlock among other things.
Then I will just play until I got the cosmetic reward then stop like a few seasons prior

"Hope... Do not look down, my friend. Even in the darkest of times, there is always hope. Hope for a better day, hope for a new dawn. Or just hope for a good breakfast. You start small, then see what you can get."
I play for the journey - stash tab is nice, but in the end i shard everything i drop in seasons excluding sets. I also play only one class per season because why not, and usually stick with custom build variants since i don't need to push GRs for ladders.
I may roll on a cookie cutter build if my concept basically sucks, but i never had the issue till now.
There are 10-15 comments here on this post who say "we love seasons, we love fresh starts for no reason and then reset in 3 months!" Meanwhile, there are hundreds of posts in Nevalistis topic from people saying how much they hate seasons and they only play it for the stash tab. It's clear what the general opinion is, this topic is irrelevant.

A random forum thread is not a representative sample of the Diablo community. Not even this poll is - it only displays the current mindset of a super small subset of Diablo players, those who frequent Diablofans. Enough people played seasons even before stash tab was a thing.
This site isn't the entire voice of the diablo playerbase. The people staying here is usualy those who are "more hardcore" than the mainstream playerbase of the game. You will get more people still possitive to the game on this site or they simply wouldn't be here.
I will only play for a new tab if the news on gamescom is a new expansion. If not then im done until the next installment of the game.

Before stash tab was a thing.. there were season only legendaries. Now it's no different from non-seasons except a few "cosmetics". )

People ASKED for "ladder" (i.e., seasons) for ages. They wanted a fresh start. The season-only legendaries were an additional gift but with very few exceptions (crusader shield S1, Bane of the Stricken) completely useless. If people need an incentive to play seasons then they shouldn't play seasons, that's why there's non-season. You either like the fresh start and play seasons or you don't and play non-season. Period.
I personally dislike seasons as such; but I really enjoy the opening weekend, playing with friends and getting the stash tab as soon as possible. If I had more time I'd just play non-season. Seasons are seasons because people want seasons - there doesn't need to be an incentive. It's like saying you want free popcorn or you won't go to a football match... well, you either like football or you don't, there's no need to lure you into an activity you don't like. Using that allegory I like a football match once every three months *because I enjoy the company of my friends*. The free popcorn (stash tab, portrait) is an added benefit but on its own wouldn't be enough to make me go.

You are all wrong. First of all i can't really remember when people asked for seasons "for ages". It was more like Blizzard realized the game became super stale and something was needed for people so they won't stop playing completely.
Secondly: seasonal only legendaries were super op. I wonder why you don't remember Henry's Perquisition and Dead Man's Legacy. There were SUPER OP on seasons. And Barb on seasons was MEGA OP because of Stricken. Then people started crying again and they were removed.
And Lastly: Luring players into activity is exactly what's happening with seasonal ONLY stash-tab.
I mostly only play the start of the season, do the journey, and then quit again until the next season rolls around with a new fresh start, so I'd play without the stash incentive.
As a seasonal player, I also think having to play seasons to get the stash is unbelievably bad design. But then there are many ideas the D3 team comes up with which are beyond sane comprehension. 2.4.1 and 2.4.2 are incredibly uninspiring so I'm less inclined to play them than normal.
("check out all these shiny new legendaries!
we put a lot of effort into crafting them!
and made sure they're worthless!
play your way!
unless you want to complete the season journey!
then play the same builds that have been in place for the past year!
p.s. no wd builds could keep up with garg so we buffed garg!")
This season will be one of my shortest. I will play the season journey and collect the stashtab, if i did not get a tab, i would definitely not play season 7.
My issues with the game is:
1) Paragon points giving too much power and destroying competition in GR's
2) Solo leaderboards plaged with players who dont play solo.
3) Gear progression being to fast
4) Difficulty progression being to fast
5) Item, set and abillity balancing
6) Divided Community and elitist jerks
If none of the above is addressed, im pretty sure that a stash tab, no longer will be enough to bother playing period.

Sorry, man, but your main issue with the game is that you are not ready to spend enough time playing it. Rest is more or less complete BS.

This is where i am with the game. Was never a big fan of seasons as the "fresh start" is not progress which is what I'm after with this game. I'm just doing it for the stash tab. I enjoy the starting weekend too but I can't say that I like sitting down for the number of hours required. I've got 3 more seasons in me... two to get the full stash on my main account and then one more to get the full stash on my alt account. Then I'll probably call it quits from seasons for most part unless there's a cosmetic I really want. Luckily I only need to finish Chapter 4 for that.
Ironically, it's because I don't have much time that I prefer NS. It allows me to chip away... an hour or two per night and show results. That play rate in seasons with the reset just doesn't get anywhere before the next season starts.

Then what about NS players who start with 4.5k paragon and 130+ gems? good luck catching them.
I absolutely would, I just love that fresh start every few months, no progress was made at all, no achievements, you start from scratch.
JUST A LOVELY EXPERIENCE!!!!!!

Is it bait to request seasonal legendary?if yes,i dont like your idea.
I will play S7 even without stash, because i want photo frame and pet,and i need gearing WD because i want master all set dungeons.
If season no transmog or pet or photo frame,i wont play it even has seasonal legendary.
Sorry for bad english.
