Dec 26, 2018Glowpipe posted a message on A Second Opinion on Diablo: Immortal, and What it Means For The Future of BlizzardPosted in: NewsQuote from themortalgod02»
My feelings on it are that the community was unnecessarily harsh because they were expecting a PC game and didn't get one.
It is like if you open your gift Christmas morning expecting some new video game and inside is a board game. It may be the best board game ever but if you got your hopes and built excitement about the video game, seeing that board game is such an instant let down that it is hard for you to give it a chance.
Same deal here. For me, I expected nothing so the game looked pretty damn awesome to me. Though I probably won't even play it because I'm not a huge mobile gaming fan. I have friends though, who will likely play it to death. As mobile games go it looks freaking amazing. Blizzard probably expected some disappointment but they likely genuinely thought they were revealing something really cool that they worked really hard on but that effort was completely invisible to the community because it couldn't see past disappointment.
Regardless though, the market will vote with its wallet. If the game is truly horrible, it won't make any money, Blizzard will learn its lesson and move on. I have a feeling Immortal is going to be really popular though and that 2 years from now most of the people having digital temper tantrums back in November will love it. The same thing happened with HearthstonePart of the issue is that we now see whats become of blizzard, or should i say Bli$$ard. There is zero chance they would have made diablo into a mobile game if it werent only to get quick profits. Whether this was influenced from activision or blizzard themselves i don't know, nor do i care. But this whole debacle shows that blizzard no longer care about their fans and their only goal is to make as much money as possible with as little risk as possible.
I have no problems believing that the thing about them having to spend less and release more games thats been leaked, is infact true

when they said there were working on new stuff for d3 and the game "we are waiting on" I hope they didn't mean tiny patches like this, and actual new content, classes, expansion etc.

Really ? thats what you managed to get out of that sentance ? Its not a game called diablo: World. They gonna talk about the diablo world. The world you run around in, in d3. The world were tristram is a village.
You think they would have revealed the name of a new diablo game in the blizzcon schedule ?

They would never let diablo 3 die and go into maintainance mode like it has been if they planned to release more content for it. necro was salvaged assets from a canned expansion. Almost guaranteed.

We know something is coming. Is it a new game ? is it a dlc ? It might be a dlc, but i doubt they would have let diablo 3 die like it has and go to maintanance mode if they planned a new dlc.
I believe its a new game. But for all i know, it might be a card game like heartstone. (F*** hope not)
i believe we will see something revealed at gamescom. We just gotta wait

you think blizzard is hiring game producers and software engineers for a comic book not even made by blizzard ?

The last blizzcon they said that they would have something for a future blisscon. But they had nothing to show this blizzcon. They have ben hiring a game producer with a love for diablo franchise and mmo experience to make a new game in the diablo series.. There is coming a new diablo without a shadow of a doubt. When and what. No one knows.

This was not me being a crybaby, coming here talking out of my ass. If you fail to see that this game is done and over with, then thats on you. If you think we gonna get any more content like expansions etc, then that is on you. I don't know why they do a ptr server slam. But we can only hope it is something for the new game that is coming out in a year or two. Which has more or less been confirmed already. I see no reason what so ever to test servers for small amount (compared to glory days) players still left in the game. Not crying. Stating facts.
These crybabies that came here and vomit nonsense comment like this one should go away from this forum and play My Little Pony Adventures 7 Golden Edition. -

So one could ask themselvs. Why would blizzard do a ptr server slam for a game that is as good as dead. No new content what so ever. Well. My guess is that they are testing out server technology for their new game. One can only hope.

Some people you just can't reach. They are not hiring a game producer to a diablo 3 expansion. Especially not one with mmo experience. They are not going to make any more heroes for d3. The necro was more then likely a new class to a new expansion for d3. which got scrapped, they could still use what they made so far, and released the necro as a hero pack. Don't expect to see any more.Quote from New_generation»

If something they are working it is another hero but not a new game D4 as so many people talking or should I say trolling about so yeah nothing new about D3 same old talk how it was hard to make necromancer from D2...
Yeah. they are totaly hiring a game producer to take the diablo franchise to the future, with mmo experience, just to make another hero for d3. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand they are hiring for a new game
yes a game producer for a new game (expansion?) but not Diablo 4I you think they release one hero for D3 and thats it no more from past into future you need to be a rocket scientist to understand that you did something wrong...
They are indeed making a new game. Might not be diablo 4. May be something completly different like a diablo mmo or something else. But you can bet your ass that they did not hire a game producer for a unannounced diablo project. only to make a hero or a expansion to a dead game -

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. d2 was not nearly as good as people want it to beQuote from truckboattruck»
no, a diablo 2 remaster would be 1000x better than the parody of diablo that was d3.

I stopped completely reading into all these specualtions. Whenever blizzard release something, i will believe it. Not before. No matter how good the evidence looks

Yeah, that was for a pc version of Diablo Immortal. Not that they didn't have any pc plans.

As much as i hate MULTIPLAYER cheaters and want them to suffer in a hot fire. They are players and a number in a statistic. If you remove the playerbase that is cheating. in this case, botting. The game suddenly look even more dead and developers will have even a less reason to keep working on the game. Cheaters getting shafted is a good thing. Game suddenly losing half its population is not good for the remaining players.
In the case of diablo 3 its not much of a problem, game is already dead and they are working on something new

Also not a fan of the synergy between mana and rage.
Might be something one day when they are out of EA, but for now. i hold my breath for the next diablo

There is only a certain amount of things they can fix in a expansion. If they make a new game they can go an entirely new direction. They can't make an expansion where you lose access to things in the earlier game. So its gonna add on the game. Change minor things, but not change the base game.
A new game can change a lot of stuff, make the base game better. Make it great from the start. Which d3 was far from. vanilla d3 was utter garbage.

Well, do you ever have to farm the old primals again ? nope
Now you need to farm the new ones, when you get those, you never have to farm again. Funny how that worked out.

I am paragon 680 something. I have 7 in my inventory. given away 3 and used 4. All in season 11. You must have the worst luck. Mostly obtained in 3 man gr60 speed runs.
Kinda like me and primal ancients i guess. I have 1 and my friend have 6. He hasn't even played as much as me -.-
But all his are useless. I can use mine on alts at least.

why would i ever sell items to friends ?

there is absolutely NO reason what so ever to keep going in a rift after the guardian is dead. Non what so ever.
It used to be back in the days when you had to do bounties to get rift stones to do regular rifts, but not anymore. So no. Blizzard should not make this happen. If you want to waste time, do it alone.

There won't be any more char packs for diablo 3. Its a dead horse. One does not beat a dead horse in the giftbasket.
They are hiring a lot of dudes for a new unanounced diablo project that is supposed to bring diablo to the future, They gonna work on that, not another class for a dead game. A new class won't make people who are tired of the game come back and stay back. They will try the necro and then go away again. within months. If even that.
My guess is that they worked on a new expac for d3. With the necro as its new class, Mid way they decided to scrap it and start on the new diablo game. They had done so much work on the necro so they could release it as a char pack. This won't happen again.

do you need to clear above 70 to get them as iin 71 or higher or is it enough to clear 1 70 rift in time ? I have done the latter, but i rerolled after doing so. Pet ai is horrible now. I think its worse than its ever been. Running into a pack. Pop garg and fetishes ontop of the elite pack. Oh hey, lets go on an adventure. herpaderp. And im like, urm. Guys. Need help here.

Maybe since its been going on for so long, that it might not be a easy fix ?
Maybe its deeply imbeded in the engine, so fixing it aint profittable ?
I rather have them work on their new diablo game over fixing this old dead horse.
