1.that doesn't look like a player character to me, maybe an npc.
2.that guy looked like a knight at first glance seeing the horny (;)) armor. at second glance I saw that what appeared to be spiking shoulderplates could be wings and I thought it was a paladin, and I saw him dual-weilding swords and thought it was a barbarian, who specializes in dual weilding. Most likely barbarian in armor, but if not I'm guessing that it's the 'next-gen' pf the morlu.
if that is a paladin, than that looks a lot better than the previous ones, like zonerz said, it seems like a barbarian with dual wield. that other picture i am not sure, amazon with animal fur cap? lol or druid

If you read the lore along with this picture on the site it described the warrior in Diablo I who entered the cathedral and freed Diablo from the "prison" in Tristram.
From that I can't gather any other information than they have put an awesome picture of a warrior clad in the whales armor obtainable in Diablo I
Dual wield is not paladin, thats for sure. Not in any game i've seen paladins at least.
considering the diversity of each class and how "none will be similar to the other" i wouldnt expect any class but the barbarian to dual wield swords in Diablo 3. That, or a new hybrid kind of class that uses offensive combat and magic of some sort. Thats the "or something else".
try to really read the post (or well.. understand it) for once before replying, Equinox.
i really, really don't think that we can draw much from the lore next to the pictures. as example, an excerpt from page 5.:
"I have never seen Tristram bursting with such joy as in the weeks since Diablo's defeat."
the text is accompanied by two pictures: one of two devils guarding a rather ominous door and the other a desolate, unmanned ruin. There is no real pic-2-text relation
I think the first one is concept art for what ended up being the witch doctor class. The other one I figure is just concept for a barbarian. The size of his physique along with dual wielding doesn't lead me to think its a Paladin. Just cool armor on a barbarian.
while we're on the topic, if it is at all possible that these are playable class concepts i will be p.oed because there is a woman holding a demon on a leash and if there is a class with demon controlling/summoning the wd loses importance.
The only reason Druid will return or have the highest chance of returning is due to their Shapeshifting abilities. Everyone likes a shapeshift, and its a very hybrid and experimental way of playing.
I think if Blizzard would make Druid more of a healing type caster with shapeshift, that'll balance a lot of the things out. Afterall, a lot of Druids in games (not just WoW) are known to heal.

could be an armored barbarian, or something else.

Over confidence is the rot.
I honestly think that that one article was wrong, and that the D3 Barb isn't the same one. He's smaller and doesn't have the blue face tattoo.
The face is completely hidden and I see tendrils spreading from those shoulder pads.
