I found this bug on the TeamLiquid forums and though I'd share it with you. It allows you to do quick Leoric runs without having to do the entire quest line. Hopefully Blizzard will see and fix this:
Protip: You most likely won't get banned from the beta for doing this. It's called BETA for a reason, it's meant to catch bugs like these and fix them before it goes live. Funny find. =)
Well, if this was a released game, you can get banned temporarily if you actually exploit a known bug. See Starcraft example (underlined part, in particular):
Official Blizzard Quote:
Ensuring a fair and competitive environment within the Battle.net service is a cornerstone of the StarCraft II experience. We would like to issue a reminder that any action taken to harass or obtain an unfair advantage over other players, whether accomplished by in-game exploitation or via manipulation of the Battle.net service, may be considered a violation of our Terms of Use. Such actions are subject to penalties up to, and including, permanent suspension of a Battle.net account.
If you suspect another player of exploitation, harassment, or otherwise violating our policies, please simply report the player in question to afford our support staff the opportunity to investigate accordingly. It is inappropriate to take actions of your own to address the issue, as this could lead to a separate violation of our policies.
Edit: Obviously this is a beta and the point is to find bugs, but still. I just want to warn people that it's probably not a good idea to do this. Besides, it's cheating and cheating is bad, mkay?
The only thing good with this is you can test out the theory about the rare drop % on the boss.
As for being banned and such, we can't be sure if they will or not if you do it intentionally. Eitherway since it's beta you won't really gain anything from doing it and such I don't think they will bother. They will however fix it obviously and most likely the bug only works because it's the end of beta content anyway.

Cheating in the Diablo universe is like breathing!!!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
One is never hurt by being given additional choices, only by taking them away. A QUADRILLION MAGIC FIND is worthless if you can't kill shit!
Well what's the difference then from normal gameplay? Isn't the point of it that you can kill Leoric over and over anyway? So how is this exploiting anything? Looks like just any random dude that is killing Leoric for the blue gear that he can do anyway.
If the quest completes the first time then it's not an exploit, since that's what the devs are aiming for.
Normally you have to run down through the cathedral to get to leoric, this way shaves off about 5 minutes and you get to just confront leoric over and over.

What fun, farm a boss for loot that you most likely won't be able to use for long and that you can't sell for anything useful. It's cool and all, but it's hardly going to break what Blizzard says they are trying to test.

I'd say it shaves off about 10 minutes or more actually.
Would SC beta have been different since there's no PvP in the D3 beta? Can't see how having an unfair advantage through a bug/exploit like this would cause a ban.
Apart from the guy in the video clicking like mad (do some people still not know you can hold the mouse button down to keep moving?!) and it sounding like him pronouncing it "King Lyric", it's an interesting find. Pretty sure it'll be fixed soon, although I look forward to seeing someone try it with a new character and listing drop chance and items
Ahem, that guy in the video is me, and I think I'm pronouncing it correctly - how do you pronounce it? Also, there are advantages to continuously click (that topic for another thread). Anyway, no, the fact that Blizzard is referring to PvP has no bearing on the matter - if you intentionally exploit a game (official release game), you could get banned. Obviously this probably isn't true for beta.

You are pronouncing it wrong.
Also the only advantage I can see is upping your APM's in SC2 matches. There's no advantage in D3 to click like a reject all the time.

Actually, no, there is an advantage. If you hold the walk button down, you can miss destructables (that normally you can't see) on the ground. There are tons of these little tiles on the ground that have loot in them. If you hold the walk button down, they aren't highlighted and you miss them.

When I play if I am running a decent distance than I hold the mouse button down. If I am circling a boss or other mob then I prefer to multiclick as I find it more engaging and entertaining. There is no reason to talk bad about how a person chooses to play a game especially since it would not hurt their ability to kill stuff anyways.
It seems like this, and possible related exploits, could be fixed simply by not granting experience and not allowing item pickups while the logout timer is up.

I'm sure something like this will be implemented prior to game release. I can't very well see Blizzard allowing this to go live with launch.
Clicking vs holding the mouse button down is really personal preference for the most part. In regards to the pronunciation of Leoric's name the two most common pronunciations are as follows.
1) Lee-oh-rick
2) Lay-oh-rick
You pronounced it as
3) Leo-rick
Which, although is probably closer phonetically to the actual spelling, is not proper.
I'm honestly too lazy to find it, but Blizzard dev's have pronounced his name (can't remember if they used 1 or 2, but they used one of those two pronunciations) in some interviews or clips (maybe Blizzcon 2010 panels) so if you're really so inclined you can sift through them on youtube.
I personally use pronunciation 2 so I'm inclined to believe that's the one the D3 Dev's also used (or you could boot up D1 and... Fuck it, I'll do it for you since that's easy...)

I can confirm this does not produce constant rares, it seems the "first kill" rewards trigger accordingly.

Now a Wow keyboard turner in a raid can hurt.
