Does Teleport now do damage/cause a knock-back effect if cast on the Wizard , i.e. the Wizard does not teleport somewhere they just disappear and reappear in the same place? It looks to me like in the trailer video that this happens. Is there anyone that was at Blizzcon able to confirm this, if you were able to get the Teleport ability in the demo?
Ehh.. why the comparisons of name Wizard and harry potter? Wizards has been around long before Harry potter crap.
Because people always have to find something to complain about. People compare D3 to WoW, but no one ever mentions the fact that there are several other games who employ the same features. Or the simple fact that everything is a rip-off of Lord of the Rings (the books).

NO, look better, it look like it doe's because she teleports close to the first plase...
About the names, in D1 and D2 where sorceror and sorceress... some change is good, i like those details.
About the Witch doctor, i think that "Shaman" would be better, but it's ok...
barbarian... mmm... i never liked the class so i don't have an opinion...
I hope the new classes are rogue (i miss her...) and the knight is nessesary, call it paladin o warrior or whatever u want... the game needs someone with a big sword
Personally i think blizzard is being rebellious. Yes so 'Wizard' is a term related to cool ppl like gandalf, its also a typical class type in many MANY games, but somehow, because its expected that everyone calls the 'Wizard' class something similiar like 'Conjurer' ect makes it awesome.
I didn't know that shamans where in WOW, it ok then... lol
In spanish the name of wizard is translated to "maga delincuente" something like criminal sorceress in an equivalent translation... so actually "wizard" it's suposed to sound bad...
I actually like this. I can see where Blizzard is going with this. I think they're changing the "childish" or "literal" terms back to what they really were back in the days. Basically, the gore versions of cartoon network heroes IMO. Wizards only sound lame because people used this term for a lot of childhood story. The true meaning of "cute" is ugly but interesting, but nowadays people use it for a good looking person.
I think Blizzard is trying to bring out the true meaning and nature of these classes.
And those who complains about the names, modern media has changed everything's meaning. Don't get fooled.
wow i was a bit excited for diablo 3, but now after seeing those snippets of the wizard class i am REEALLY FUCKING EXCITED.
the Sorceress was my fav class in diablo 2, so id expect the wizard to be good too. The stop time spell looks insanely awesome!! i cant wait for this.

::EDIT:: nonsense removal.
Well that and all the other magic related names have been taken really.
Yeah I know, but you're not the one who'll be buying the poorly translated French version of the game.
Diablo II was pretty fucked up. There are translation issues everywhere, like the way "trap" is translated into the French word for "trap-door", and every "trap-door" is translated as "booby trap".
You can't even guess how many French players never opened the wrongly translated "trap" in Lut Gholein that leads to the sewers, fearing they might die...
i on't think that's shallow, in the end everybody is talkinf about too much colour or things like that... i think it nice to have pretty thingings around... i mean, not everything in sanctuary has to be dark and creepy...
The only better name for Wizard would have been "Arcanist". I think Wizard is fine though, it is a nice homage to the classic characters that we all grew up on as we became interested in fantasy books/movies/games. No one complains that D and D has characters called Wizards....I don't see the big deal.
what is shallow then? I'm not saying that's not nice, heck everybody likes nice things. BUT, there is so much to diablo and life in general than boobs and money.
Agreed. Some roleplaying games focus on sexual things, but i never saw Diablo as one of them. In fact, people don't even really treat it like a roleplaying game at all. I don't think i ever, in years playing d2, saw anyone talk "in character." So i'm not sure why anyone would focus on things such as being able to make "chicks with magical powers" in Diablo. Now in WoW, every now and then you'll have some goofball running around naked trying to provoke others, but that's not really even roleplaying, it's just being goofy.
As for the name "Wizard," i think it fits well, especially after reading their discription. They are a more chaotic and powerhungry version of the Sorcerer/ess. It's a different look on an old concept. I mean, every RPG needs a class like this - a magic user that focuses on elements. I have personally never been a big fan of focusing on elemental magic, but i know a lot of people like it, and i'm glad they have filled that role in D3.

A very important name =|
I mean, she looks hot which is important to some people (some people being me, obviously) and her skills look hot (I'm sooo gonna use slow time)
I don't like the slashy-thing-on-the-floor skill though
Lol, that's quite a translation problem.
