remove brain-dead affixes which are class specific and plopped onto gear which would never be used by that class.
I have ALWAYS been annoyed when I get something like a bow with strength and +poison darts damage. I have a pretty high tolerance for the in-game itemization as I'm sure you know, but stuff like that still makes me wonder, specifically, why class-specific bonuses to spells are not limited to items the class would actually use. I mean, I guess a WD could use a bow, but that opens up another can of worms - WHY? I have never actually felt the desire to use a bow on my WD. Something about that seems inherently..... not right, yes?
Agreed. Or, going even further, stats which are never desirable/useful for class X on an item that can only be equipped by class X in the first place! It makes no sense to me, I have no idea why they felt this was a good idea.
Things that I enjoyed from Diablo 2 that are not in Diablo 3:
1. Let me teleport through walls with no cooldown
2. Multiply the drop rate of legendaries by 10
3. Runes/Runewords/More sockets/More gems/charms/Mods like ethereal and borrowed skills from other classes
1. Remove the AH and recalibrate the drop rates so item hunting is somewhat interresting, like, in Diablo 2, when with enough MF, you were pretty much sure to find a unique from every boss kill. So even if they suck, it spices things up.
2. Better story (actualy same one, but told with some good writing, I actualy can't believe they thought people would be suprised that Leah was Diablo's daughter and the bridge from him to come back, OH COMON, a 2 years old, retarded monkey would facepalm at Adria's journal in Act1, HELL WITH YOU JOURNAL, YOU JUST SPOILED THE WHOLE STORY! And it kept going worse from there)
3. Redesign the demonhunter, it sooooo not interesting.
This... I NEVER played D2 in a single player game, and in fact, I didnt like doing so... but all I EVER do is play SP in D3... Takes the social aspect away, and makes me sad.
2 - Make sets and unique more readily available (increase drop rates) and make them noticeably (but not ridiculously) less useful than the highish rares in the game, so that even those on low budgets can still enjoy the end-game
3 - I dunno, more exciting stuff that will give the game less a hassling matter

Working with adobe and/or java is like pushing a paper clip against a building and expecting it to move...

My Witch Doctor just reached Inferno (yesterday), and I had some gear saved up for him. Most of it had only Int/Vit/Ress. I tried making his pets work with tons of disables from skills, they would still die from being 1-shot (even the Gargantuan)
Got about 350-400 str from items that everyone thought were useless (very cheap/underrated), trading off about 200 vitality in the process. Now my Gargantuan survives every elite encounter, and my Zombie Dogs survive about half of the fights, and I almost never take a single hit (was even thinking about sacrificing more vit). Getting ready for Act 2 now, trying to bolster armor and resists.
With the way stats work currently, there is no "useless stat". It might be useless to a person gearing up in a specific way, but maybe somewhere someone might find a use for it. Useless stats stayed in D2.
Seriously, even though Act 3 is absolutely amazing the biggest disappointment is seeing how bland the battlefields were. I wanted to see more soldiers getting their ass handed to them and endless hordes of demons. It honestly felt just like another area. I wanted to see more chaos and stuff happpening around me. Like remember when you were walking around Stonefort and seeing the battle below you and saying "God I can't wait to go down there"? Epic disappointment.
Besides that, Act 3 is amazing. Don't change anything! (Azmodan is a bad ass)
2. Make Heaven Bigger
Even though Diablo 2's Act 4 was very short, you felt like you explored a decent amount of Hell because the area was more open. Act 4 in Diablo 3 had potential to be INCREDIBLE yet I felt that you were exploring what should have been the end of Act 4. I wanted to walk through the corrupted fog on the bottom where the background was and see the absolute horror going around in heaven. I wanted to walk around more and see what Heaven was instead of just jumping into the Spire and killing Diablo. Add more open areas and have a bigger build up.
3. Make Imperius a Boss
Okay honestly, the build up to face Imperius can't be denied and I was honestly pissed that I coudn't fight him. Like seriously, what the hell? You talk to him, he taunts you, and when he finally confronts you, he falls over like a rag doll. If I was Jesus, this is what I would do to the game with Imperius:
I would make Imperius the Boss of Act 4. There I said it. I would make Diablo succeed in taking over Heaven and have Imperius be the final boss of the game, leaving room for the expansion. Another aspect of the game was that it was advertised as being the "End Times". Seriously, the story came nowhere close. Belial got butt fucked before he could even take down one city, Azmodan's invasion was defeated even before it moved one kilometer, and Diablo got killed way to fast. I know the stakes were higher but it didn't honestly feel like a global war and that everything was going down to shit.
Like I said, I would make Diablo succeed in taking over Heaven and have Imperius try and kill you and Tyrael or something of that sort. It would be epic. The arena could be nothing but corruption so it could be very dark. His one liners would be epic as shit. God just thinking about it makes me sad. If they did this, the expansions would be set. You could have the next act have Diablo destroying the World of Sanctuary city by city until he goes down to Hell to take it back over. It would add that feeling of despair that evil truly succeeded in destroying everything, until literally the last second humanity brought him down.
Ughh...
I hope you enjoyed by wishes/rant. I still think this is an amazing game. Solid 9/10. Favorite game of the year and gives reason why Blizzard is the best gaming company of all time.
1. Redesign the game engine for realistic hit detection...I hate my DH for this reason, there is no reward for skilled play when I vault away from a mob that pokes at the dust where I was standing before and kills me from 40 yards away.
2. Rubberband fix. I will never play a hardcore character as the game is now, as I die all the time from my character rubberbanding back into a massive mob of frost bombs and arcane sentry beams, when half a second before I was well clear of the chaos. Constant 52ms, 30 meg connection; my internet isn't the issue.
3. Make MF affect chest and the environment again; as it is now, resplendant chests are pretty meaningless unless you are farming tomes for crafting. Maybe make it so for every stack of nephalem you have, 20% of your MF counts towards environmental stuff, so at 5 stacks you have full MF for everything.
Itemization overhaul. Class specific items always roll class primary stat +vit and add in some cool flavor affixes that change game play or encourage build diversity. Also get rid of all resist. Single resists give a % to an overall resistance pool so if you get +56 to poison you also get +15 to all other resists as well.
Rebuild the WD class. I <3 my WD, I really do but it’s not fun to play him now. So he sits. Hopefully 1.04 will make him fun again.
MF system overhaul. Get rid of MF on gear in favor of an improved NV system that encourages players to use all available options. Act jumping, chests, goblins, elite and boss killing.

1) Make spammable health potions
2) Better follower A.I.
3) Increase resistances more with each level (not just from Int, but have naturally increasing resistances)
