Now that we've all had a taste of the game via the open beta, has anyones opinions changed on any of the classes? Like a class a little more? Not liking one as much as you thought? List the classes from best to worst in your opinion!
Pretty much exactly as I thought it would be for me. The demon hunter was pure gold. The monk was great until the SK when it just seemed to take awhile to kill him. Barbarian was great for trash mobs when they would explode and everything would die, but again the SK seemed to go down a little harder. Wizard felt underpowered to me (resource starved), guess im the only one who felt that way. Witch Doctor I didnt even try because the class doesnt appeal to me, not even in the slightest.

(this build was before D3 launched... looking back on it now - i had no idea what i was doing)
I was pleasantly surprised by both the Monk and DH.
Monk seems hardier than i expected especially given that the best defensive powers don't come until later.
DH seems really strong damage-wise, but looking ahead at progression, seems like the class will need a tank more than most other classes when it comes to harder encounters. If something can get past your slows and movement advantages, you’re in trouble without any real mitigation powers.
Wizard, more than any other class seems like the real potential just doesn’t show in the beta. When resource concerns slide down to be less of a constraint, it seems like the Wizard will just melt AoE while having an amazing defensive toolkit, and maintain respectable single target power.
1 – Wizard (based on progression more than lvl 13)
2 – Monk
3 – Barbarian
4 – Demon Hunter
5 – Witch Doctor (admittedly, did not play)

I grew up gaming without internet forums. The entire phenomenon of being upset with a game developer makes no sense to me. No sense. I cannot imagine spending my time and energy being upset about something I choose to do for recreation.
I can't really do it this way because I enjoy some of the classes equally for different reasons.
I'll put them in tiers.
Wiz, WD, Barb
Monk, DH
I didn't think I would like the monk at all but that move where he basically dashes across the screen to your enemy for only a little spirit is so much fun. The DH I'll probably like even more once I get a chance to feel what farming is like when the ferret rune is picking up all the gold for me.
I've had beta for a while but stopped at patch 12, just got back on this weekend and things are well, a little different.
I've changed my first playthrough to DH. I learned using caltrops + entangling shot or hungering arrow is a nice way to effectively kite huge amounts of monsters. put in rapid fire for sosme quick killing and you've got yourself a winning class that can effectively take down almost everything without ever really needing to engage the enemy.
Second is wizard. Boy oh boy the spells on this one make me go wild! It's just the right amount of crazy badassery and glass cannony goodness that makes me want to try her out. With lots of AOE and high damage single target spells This will be a class for the ages.
Third WD. Lots of CC and minions.... what more do you want. Putting out a gargantuan and a giant toad while Mass Confusing an army of fallen will just be one of the very many ways this class will be able to take down groups of monsters that get too close. Not to mention the fact that it can rain toads, summon a giant one, make bats fly out of nowhere, make zombie dogs or a gargantuan and turn a monster into a chicken for Christ's sake IT SOUNDS FRICKEN AWESOME.
Barb and monk are the last two not much else to say I'm not a huge fan of melee unless they have some badass abilities like the druid in D2 did. I'll probably play the monk first just cause he's new and then barb cause well why wouldn't i play the barb?

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
1. WD-I have always liked necro/warlocky type classes with different types of magic and pets. Lots of CC and variance in spells
2. Barb- Barb is awesome. If my group needed a barb instead of a WD, it would have been close. Barbs are awesome.
3. Monk- Very fun, versatile, and fast playstyle. Big Fan
4. Wizard- Never been a huge fan of the "normal" caster type, played a moonkin and warlock in wow. Its blah. Most people playing them are only playing them because of huge epeens and the large numbers that usually come with this type of class. Glad its not really a glass cannon right now honestly.
5. DH-Never been a fan of hunter type classes
DH and WD by far. I prefer ranged type of characters in any game, but yes I have listed Wizard last.
DH - Awesome! Ranged dps, lots of CC and "GTFO!" utility, and just brilliantly drawn and scripted! I can't wait for release!
WD - Awesome again! Ranged dps, minions work great for diverting fast mobs, and when the jar of green spiders becomes black spiders, that is TOO FRICKEN COOL!
Barbarian - D-E-S-T-R-O-Y-!-!-! Need I say more? This guy is just FUN! In terms of my opinion of his viability, I can't really say. I just know I love beating things to death with him!
Monk - Melee dps. Not really a fan, but the little bit I played of him seems ok. He just doesn't have the visceral feeling that the Barb does.
Wizard - Everything is unremarkable so far (in beta). I'm really intrigued by the Slow Time spell and its possible OP'ness, but there just isn't enough in the beta to grab me with this character.
That's my initial impression from playing each class at least to lvl 9 and killing SK.
That said gaining even 1 new skill can rapidly change how a class function and/or how effective it is.
The wizard for instance was just making me go yawn and then I got diamond skin and every thing changed. Just from that one skill.
The witch doctor was highly effective so my rating doesn't have anything to do with his performance. I just didn't really like the abilities I had access to up to lvl 9. I know almost for sure that opinion will change with access to more skills and passives.
Overall I felt all the classes felt quite balanced with their differing playstyles.
I did all achievements in the beta from start to finish in 24 hours this weekend and I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised with all 5 classes.
Demon Hunter appealed least to me since I spent 7 years playing a hunter in WoW ans wanted a change, and I was unimpressed with the class until I got Vault. Vault turned the Demon Hunter into a ton of fun and opened up many strategic opportunities to players who are willing to experiment. DPS was great single target but less impressive for large grps of monsters.
Wizard was all around ok for me, pretty much was i was expecting. I found it had alot of dmg potential with AoE and single target but since the beta limits you on gear and passives I wasn't quite able to experience it to it's fullest quite yet.
Monk, WOW I loved it... in and out of fights in a flash, very durable and very powerful melee, probably the most versatile class from what I can see. Tons of fun.
Barbarian... well it's what it should be, in your face raw power and beefiness. If you enjoy jumping around and just slaughtering hordes of monsters then you will love this class.
Witch doctor, this class I will admit starts VERY slow, so slow in fact that I doubt most people finished leveling him to 13. The fact is though, this is probably one of the strongest self-sustained classes later on, and those of you who got to 13 and played around with sacrifice and haunt can attest to to sudden change in pace of the way this class is played.
Overall I'm very pleased with all the classes and look forward to playing all 5 to max level. To finally answer this post my order of favorite from top to bottom is:
I feel of all the classes, the WD is by far the most versatile. He's got the range, the damage, the aoe, the survivability, the pets, the control. Everything you need! God I want to play this game!
