Necro. The coolest character in game. Ohh, how much time we spent together, I can remember clearly, like it was yesterday...hmm, it was yesterday. It was the laziest class ever, i could eat and play in the same time. When i want to relax from playing bar, or other car, I would just take a necro.
Probably Druids since they're quite close to the barbarians. I would say barbarian but that wish was already answered now wasn't it! Being able to harness the power of the elementals and summon volcanos, tornadoes, and even the darn armageddon! I hope they release a similar character to Diablo 3 later on, obviously not the exact same thing because that would be silly (although you may question that they done that with barbarians, pffft barbarians can't be silly!)
Yeah Druids are cool, but not as cool as Barbarians!

"Hey, I thought you'd like the witty irony of grub-on-glowie violence!"
As far as what archetype isn't present in D3, I would say the Druid. Every other class from D2 has at least part of it's playstyle in the current classes. The only exception besides druid could be the paladin, but because if the monks healing and auras, I would assume if we saw any side of the paladin return it would be the knight side, but the holy has already been covered. Maybe an evil paladin?
For what I'd like to see in an expansion though would defiantly be the druid, or some variation. There's no nature, animal summons (well, the DH's companion kind of counts) or shapeshifting archetype current. Hell seeing how D3 is kind of bending the rules with the classes by switching them up slightly, I'd like to see a combo of paladin and druid. More like a shapeshifting knight. Heavy armor, (I'd like to see dual wielding) or sword and shield, maybe brief animal summon cooldowns. You could also add shapeshifting as a CD, or something you pick like the monks auras, or make certain attacks briefly shift you. For the paladin side there's always a zeal type attack, or some sort of attack(s) that can be used with anything, but with a shield add some extra damage or effects.
I was sad to see the Paladin and the Druid go away. I was a very defensive player, so all the skills that jacked up my defense and resistances were awesome. I also loved using conversion to make the enemies my minions.
I understand that many of the new classes also have many defense buffs to allow me to be defensive again. But the cool thing about the Pally and Druid was that the buffs helped my teammates too. I loved being the support guy that made everyone else want to play near me or my pets!
I really hope the paladin makes a comeback in an expansion or something. The Paladin has always been one of my favorite melee class in several games, either a paladin or a character equivalent. So if I were to import a toon from D2 it would definitely have to be the Paladin. I also think that it fits in well with the feel and lore of diablo, a holy warrior bent on defeating the demons of hell and letting the light prevail. A Tyreal Super Fan boy or something, hehe.
I was a big fan of the druid in LoD.
I enjoyed shapeshifting to a werewolf, running into mobs and unleashing the wrath (fresh meat).
Maybe they will add it back in the D3 expansion.
I would really like the Druid. I know the Witch Doctor is kinda replacing it. But it was so cool playing through the game with wolfs and a bear by your side, while using wind and lava spells. It was always my favorite
I'd save the druid just for his pets; well his shape shifting too I can't really forget that. I'm more of a furry then a bone type person, but can't say I wouldn't choose the necromancer next.
IMO i woulda saved my Smitadin that class was freaking OP for farming up ubers... they couldent do nothing and u just couldent die it was just super ez to get torches for trade lol
I would love the necro to come back. I loved his morbid outlook on life. The witch doctor is similar but he seems nice... i want the demons to face the same monstrosities as they have unleashed upon us. That being said i still loved playing my zealadin!

It's all about having your army verse theirs.
