Yeah, no idea why they got removed.. but what you said Ferret might be why.. Although seriously, if that was the reason for gold, thats just banking on lazy people..
Yeah, i miss this a little too since its a little tedious now, but since common scraps are gone, the first crafted weapons are like 2 Subtle essence which isnt too bad considering every blue gives you at least one. What i did was just run to the merchant, buy 2 cheapest blue which was 286g each, salvage that and buy what i wanted.
meaning.. it cost me 500g+ for every weapon.. which isnt too bad....
Also i noticed that class specific items drop a lot more. I was playing a wiz, and about 12 globes dropped.... Alot since magic drops are alot more rare now..
If I had to say one thing it would be the companion scrolls, but that seems big enough to have put into patch notes, I'm guessing that don't come until later in the game.
Things i like in beta 10:
New artwork for completing quests
The skill swap works great, if anything make the CD ~15 seconds. (when you swap to a new skill you can't use that skill for 30 seconds, silly me thought it was the other way around)
I like the little TP button =P I kept hearing it was a 2s cast, but it's still at 4s
New potion artwork is cool, but seems the item-on-the-ground artwork is the same still, prolly bug
Increasing the damage for slower weapons is noticeable, I was actually able to do something with my bow at level 3
Not having to pick up whites is nice, you still see loot dropping but you don't have to run to every corner all the time
Some would think because you have to go to town to salvage you'll be going there a lot, but you have to think you can only salvage magic +, so your bags won't be full near as often
Just using gold to level your BS in normal difficulty is a nice move, since finding those pages at low levels was so rare, you ended up skipping and almost never using the first 10 levels of crafted gear. This way you can get to them very easily
I miss the ease of Salvaging the cubes provided but thats about it, happy with the changes so far, with the stats change though ive got hardly any gear at all to provide anything other then vit so can't comment at the moment.
Overall I think the beta feels alot more polished then patch 9 as a whole, and its the little things that show this like menu updates with the hardcore button, the new login screen feels finished, the new icons for armours these small things which as a whole make the game appear to be close to completion.

True, its a convenience stat for the most part.
[Theorycrafting] It can also be a good stat for a character that is based around the concept of getting as much gold as possible as quick as possible. If you can stack a boatload of this stat on items that also have good +gold find, you spend less time actually picking up the gold. This in turn increases your amount of gold looted, as long as your killing speed doesn't slow down noticably.[/Theorycrafting]
It would actually be great if they merged gold find and radius together. Therefore you can get a high radius stat but low +goldfind. This is kinda the same principle as slower weapons do higher damage. This can also be implemented on healthglobes too!
My biggest peeve is that the character sheet is gone, I'm so used to pressing C to check my stats / xp / lvl / health and other things.
Not having a character stat page to me just doesn't feel like an RPG.
With the stats being in the inventory they are very small and require extra time to read. Perhaps they should put you dps number in your inventory but still keep the character sheet. I mean how are we meant to chek our resistances, armor, lvl, xp and required xp easily?
I think that's a step backwards. I like most of the changes so far(salvaging is pretty tedious now) and takes alot longer than when using the cube.

Yeah I was kind of put off by not having a character page as well, and wondered how everything that entire page fit into this small subsection of the inventory - but you reminded me about the resistances, so where the hell have they gone?

Nah salvaging was more tedious in the last patch just because you could salvage the white items too. This time around your inventory won't fill up for ages because you'll only be holding onto the magic items and higher, and you only need crafting materials when you get to the blacksmith anyway so might as well salvage there.
Miss actually being able to play. Their battletag system has stupid retard naming restrictions thats hindering a lot of people from making seemingly harmless names. I have Beta access but cannot play unless i pick some random name that no one knows me by that i could potentially be stuck with forever.
"Mikuro" is apparantly a naming violation, despite it being the handle I had for SC/D2/War3, multiple characters in warcraft and the name of my SC2 account. Go figure

Mikuro? Change the M to a D and you can see why they banned the name.
Yep, that must be it
p.s. and my name apparently means prostitute or something along those lines in Spanish and a couple of other languages. But Blizzard has no problem with that lol

Ah well, i'm just waiting on the Battletag fixes that Bashiok tweeted on like a week ago, haven't been able to make the name since they started the system in early December

Did you notice the button at the bottom of the stats in your character sheet? That opens up to the larger sheet with all the data on it.

I have seen that and I don't like it, it doesn't show the information I require just by pressing 1 button. It is also freaking huge(top to bottom of screen) also has a scroll bar -_-.
What I'm saying is you can't squeeze everything in the character stat page into that spot. It just doesn't work.

In all honesty why do you need to be able to see your specific stats immediately? In what situation that pressing 1 extra button will kill you? =D
1. Removal of Cube is inconvenient, it's not too inconvenient but I can't say I'm happy with it. It definetly not feel BETTER.
2. I find the character sheet okay but a little bit clunky
3. Who cares about potion slot and tp on bottom screen.
4. Where the fuck are my companions ????? I'm actually pretty pissed if that is definitive. WTF are they doing to the game making it like a 1990 game removing more and more of the convenience, going in circles picking up gold IS NOT FUN.
5. Stats, well ok can't say it changes much, if anything it makes you keep a lot more items in inventory/stash for twinks.

I like most changes. I hated the scraping for crafting thing. It was extremely boring to loot every single item then scrap everything and continue. It was really repetitive and annoying. Hated companions too. I don't want to fight the fucking rulers of Hell and being assisted by a rabbit or a pig >_>'
Not having a character stat page to me just doesn't feel like an RPG.
Totally true. It's damn convinient but really uggly... Character stats are WAY too important things to stay in such a small place.
I think the thing I'm missing the most is detailed skill tooltips. The simplified ones remove all of the useful information (like how much damage the skill does) and pressing ctrl all the time to see this is a bit annoying. I think this change is a bit silly, but if they really want to keep it they should add an option to disable it.
Losing the cube wasn't nearly as annoying as I thought it would be. I still pick everything up because I want the extra gold (I was averaging about 250-300g from vendoring when I inventory was full, which is worth the could extra seconds to run over to the merchant when I'm in town).
I find that, at least in the beta, I'm back in town often enough that I rarely have to make special trips back to vendor/salvage gear even when picking everything up and full clearing areas. In my 2 playthroughs today I think I only went back to town once or twice for the sole purpose of clearing out my inventory. If I wasn't picking everything up, I definitely wouldn't have needed any extra trips.
I like the new stat system. I was playing a Wizard, and the new stats actually made crafted wands better than some of the other weapon options since those other weapons tend to have Str or Dex while the wands have Int. While the +health globe bonus doesn't seem terribly useful for the Wizard and WD, its actually might be the strongest benefit of the 3. You get +1 armor per Str and +0.1% dodge per Dex and +1 health per globe per Int. Compared to the armor you get from items, the Str bonus doesn't seem like it will be super noticeable. Similarly, a small amount of dodge doesn't seem like that big of a deal (will depend on scaling). If a Wizard/WD is focusing on Int/Vit gear with armor from items it seems like they should be reasonably durable and the larger heals from globes will help keep you topped off during champ/boss fights. Its not super powerful, but it doesn't seem like the Str/Dex benefits will be huge either.
