- Due to Force and Sixen stealing food from the cafeteria diablo 3 has been shut down until further notice, and all informations gatherd from the media event will be distroyed to compinsate for the loss.
Man this is the worst thread I could possibly read on Diablofans right before the NDA is lifted. It's like all possible D3 related nightmares all gathered in one thread. Sorry, guys, I can't take it all AND imagine one myself... Keep up the scary work though =/
worst news that they could announce is a release date of 2012 or longer.
QFT, I trust Blizzard has made all the right decisions game mechanics wise, so the only bad news could be more time between now and getting my hands on this beautiful game.
- Diablo 3 has become pay to play
- Armors and weapons are now bound on equip
- Dye system has been scrapped
- Hardcore mode has been toned down to please the crowd... the penalty is not death but more gold and items
- Max number of players in a game is now 2-3
- Wizard now has mana instead of Arcane Power (thanks Wingless)
- No shared stash
- Release in 2012 2nd Quarter
- Some gay WoW function imported into D3
- No LAN feature for D3
I'm pretty sure that we're about to see hell on earth, August 1st... for the better or worst.
I know there is already a thread on speculation of such scary thoughts, but I thought having a poll would better illustrate what the Diablo fan club sees as the worse option. So cast your votes!
I personally voted for the free to play option with micro transactions because of the same reason why i don't play Team Fortress 2 anymore.

@Upgradez I could've faceplanted on the keyboard and still killed everything in act 1.
micro-transactions are fear #1 for me. I dont mind if they are for simply cosmetic items, but if anything that affects gameplay in anyway has to be purchased... I'm out. Pay to play wouldn't be the end of the world, but is the 2nd place option, since it brings with it the promise of added content over time that wouldn't happen in a purely free model.
I think the worst they could announce would obviously be that Diablo 3 has been canceled and/or they are closing Blizzard studios to be merged with some other Activision holding.
The pay to play model would kill the game for me! I hate those things, not only will I feel rushed into playing D3 everyday, but i'll have to pay the game + a fee every month... nah un, nah un,nah un,nah un! Nada, Niet, Nein, Mai, Non, NO! Forget about it.
I trust them for making a good game, what I would hate to see is a bad business plan. I personally don't think they can impose a pay to play simply because D3 is not that kind of game. Lets just wait and see 0_0.
For some reason I've not really found a free to play game that works very well. Given all the short coming of other games wouldn't have any problems here but it wouldn't work for me. It would just make me cry and hide in a corner.
I can't blame Blizz for protecting their products, but at what cost may I ask, at what cost? Next thing we'll see is a national inquiry each 3 months where Blizz officials will ransack every house to find illegal copies of D3 ^^... just putting it out there as a possibility! With Blizzard everything is possible, BlizzCon\BlizzCan\BlizzWill.. enough said :P.
Damn Damn Damn >.<!!! Why can't they see the light and realise I wanna play at home in a LAN dangit!
Seriously, I thought it was true for SCII but I've never seen it for D3. Ho well :'(.
Some pirates too.
I fully support Blizzard on this.
Too bad SC2 can be played LAN-style now. (its not really LAN but they can play).
Are people really so dumb they think it stops piracy? It hinders them, but not forever. Real customers however, are hindered forever. Let me put it this way.
What happens in 10 years if the Blizzard servers are down? You will NOT be able to play with ANYONE. Pirates however, will.
Yes, they could make a LAN patch, yada yada. Most game companies just shut down servers however and let it die, so I'll assume that is what they will do.
So yeah, whatever, keep supporting them fully on an obviously stupid decision. But people are so blind about Blizzard, its ridiculous.
Hold your horses there Jake, you're assuming that Blizz will close the servers. D2 has been up for now more than 10 years and the servers are still up and running. But I'm on the same page as you when it comes to piracy, there's no stopping them.
Every\Any security can be breached with time, a LAN feature will be available one day so I'm not worried about it. THing is, it still pisses me off when they decide to make us suffer without any real reason. People who wanted to buy the game bought it, others instead pirated. D2 made gang busters and it had LAN, I don't get what changed since then?
WHat? Aren't we responsible enough now that you have to babysit us? Anyway, they are just adding gas to an already lit fire if you want my opinion. In the end, it won't change a thing except scrap a classic feature in an original title away from loyal fans, good job.... whoever had that brilliant idea.

Lol? Are you serious they've been saying there's not going to be LAN since release. If you want to play multiplayer you have to use bnet.
