This may seem like a trivial thing, but item coloration actually matters a lot to me.
In particular, hot green, purple and yellow look extremely cheap to me. It always bothered me a little to use set items in D2 just because they looked cheap.
I really hope they use the D2 shade of Gold (this isn't exactly it) for uniques, and don't choose a coloring scheme similar to WoW or HG:L. The blue that was used for magic items does not bother me because it's a muted magical looking color, not a "hot" shade.
Actually, I'd love it if they could have colors be like gold, silver, bronze and glowing and have all these colors be slightly animated..ie, you see the metallic font colors faintly shimmering, and the magic ones faintly glowing/pulsating.
What we heard: Much has been made of Splinter Cell: Conviction's MIA status, but Ubisoft's Ghost Recon franchise has been off the reservation for what's quickly becoming just as long.wow gold With 2007's acclaimed Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 being the most recent installment in the franchise, Ubisoft said in January that a new Ghost Recon would arrive by the end of March 2010. However, it didn't take long before the publisher pushed that game to its next fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2011.Not all Ghosts are the friendly Casper types.wow guildHowever, it now looks as if Ghost Recon's delay may not follow the long and winding road of its Tom Clancy cousin. Yesterday, a listing for "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Predator" on multiple platforms appeared in the Australian Classification Board's online database.wow powerlevelingRead more:www.************
im triyng to remember where ive seen it before. Somewhere its been done, the item names glow and look friggin awesom, like divine almost, like the creame of the cream of the crop. If its done right, and not every average joe can pull ove this glowing thing, it may be a nice deal.

That's something that's always bothered me too. But only the green from the set items and the orange from the Cubed created ones. They never seem to fit in with the flavor of the game.
I'd like to see a new distinction color scheme similar to the one you're suggesting. They wouldn't have to use colors only either, they could have certain items emit a kind of haze or a swirly aura of some kind.

This isn't about looking cool... Pointless glows are just a waste. They want items to be as easily distinguishable as possible, end of line.
There's other ways of showing disctinction besides just the color of the text, that would fit more into the flavor of the game, as was mentioned earlier. Also without all the loud text coloring, players would actually need to slow down a bit and keep an eye out for anything worthwhile, getting away from the rush rushness that the devs have mentioned they are trying to deter.
I for one hope that they do the glowing look, i always felt it was something that D2 needed for some items. Also the color scheme thats being talked about seems good to me.

Buyer - "Hey i offer you X amount of gold for this item."
Seller - "No, i demand twice your offer!"
Buyer - "BUT ITS ONLY WORTH X/2 gold!"
Seller - "But you see, the glowing/twinkling text is rare on this item"
Adds a whole new level of complexity to trading..
On a similar note however, does blizzard have plans to implement an item pricing system? I would hate to purchase an item thats shiny only to find out that it was worth jack.
Well trading is regularly a pain in the ass in any game, so yea that wouldent be new to me.

I never liked the gold color for uniques, sometimes it was hard to tell them apart from the yellow items. I was also pretty pissed that not every "unique" item had its own unique look.

I'll lose it. lol
I think that would be cool if they didn't overdue it.
