Guns dont belong in sanctuary. They belong in the land of azeroth. As for your comments about swords not being created until they put them in the game. Yeah good point, that actually happened in diablo 1, way to prove their point even more. rofl tard.

It has been much appreciated. It saddens me that it may get off topic again, as most things on this forum does, but I understand the requirements, and hope that my fellow members also understand the requirements.
after thinking wut i have done. Im very sorry. I wont try to go off topic. But you know it just happens..
BACK TO THE TOPIC. When i think of guns i think of really modern type ones. The only kinda gun suitable for a game like diablo would be a crossbow that shoots both bolts and knives and those throwing stars.

Yes. In my oppinion they would work much the same way as crossbows. Speeds consisting of slow and very slow, with the few uniques having a "normal" speed. (And yes, there are already crossbows, but there are already scepters with clubs exsisting, axes with swords exsisting, polearms with tridents exsisting, and throwing knives with throwing axes exsisting.)
Yea I think it was um...that hiring guy quel'thak i think his name is says that larzurk comes to him with strange idea with gunpowder and stuff. It could easily work and twenty years I mean technology has to change in twenty years even if its mid evil times.
P.S Sorry for goin off topic and makin the thread close. It wont happen again.

Except, I don't remember seeing any crossbows in Diablo 1 either...
And they belong in Sanctuary if Blizzard puts them in. This isn't about whether they belong or not, it's whether they would fit with the mechanics. And from what I can tell, if you have Crossbows, you can certainly have firearms.

That's understandable. But look on the first page. There is a firearm that is what I am talking about.

riight.. if you want firearms though, WoW is coming out with a new expansion, and there is a game called hellgate London... which is probably where you came from.
Go play call of duty 4, or crysis, WoW, hellgate London. Putting any type of firearm into the sanctuary universe is almost as retarded as this video. Key word there though. ALMOST.

Firearms are not as improbable as you seem to think. If crossbows are capable of working, firearms are just as capable. (Also, not to go off topic, but I have never played HG:L before, and resent the remark.)
The firearms that would be appropriate for Diablo are FAR from the ones you find in most other games.
We're talking very basic firearms. Why couldn't they be created? It's bound to happen sooner or later.
By the time of D2 throwing potions (explosive and poisonous) had appeared a long with cross bows and many other items and D2 happened nearly right after D1.
In D2 one guy had the idea for cannons, so 20 years down the line why couldn't there be cannons and very basic hand cannons?
It's a valid point and people who deny it outright altogether are basically in denial themselves. You can hate on the idea as much as you want, but there's no denying the possibility.
So when diablo 3 comes out are you not going to buy the game when there is no guns in it? I hope not, good riddance. Because there wont be.
I'm glad you make such compelling arguments.
I've said many times before that I prefer guns NOT to be in D3. It's my personal opinion, however I'm not going to deny the fact that technology wise, they're right on that brim and it is possible.
Right on the brim? There was no guns in Diablo 2, now they have them and in little hand cannons 20 years later rofl? Do you not see the retardism involved in what you are saying

20 years is a long time..Think back 20 years and compare what we have now and then..I don't understand why people make 20 years seem like nothing in a game/story we have no control over

It took hundreds of years for someone to figure out that if you put grooves in the barrel of the gun, the bullet shoots on target.
It also took hundreds of years for someone to develop a gun that could shoot seven times before needing to be reloaded.
Crossbows weren't in D1 either, yet there they are in D2, even though D2 is set almost exactly after the first installment. In D1 we were only ever exposed to Tristram, in D2 they expanded our exposure to the Diablo World and as a result we got to see the different cultures and technologies outside of Tristram. I'm assuming that they are planning to do the same thing for part three as well, this coupled with the 20 year time gap along with some suspension of disbelief, would seem kinda plausible enough i reckon.
Plus wasn't the Witch Doctor throwing bombs around in the game-play demo anyway?
And to answer your question shelledfade, I'll be getting the game regardless of whether they'll be guns or not (I'm pretty the entire populace here will be getting the game regardless of what they each say anyway lol :P). If guns were to make it into the game however, then I'd probably much more prefer it if they were in there as a novelty items or something of the sort.
Yeah but we don't even know if someone out there was developing a gun even before Diablo 1..so somebody could have been making a crude version of the gun..by the time Diablo 3 rolls around one of the classes could have picked up on it.
You are all kind of missing my point with the whole speil, I was trying to say that Larzuk was influenced by a traveler who mentioned a weapon much like a gun or cannon, I was trying to say that he was influenced by an outside element, a possibly unknown asian element.
Now the notion that you didn't see guns in D2 is proof that guns won't come into play is somewhat wrong, we didn't see crossbows in d1 yet they suddent showed up everywhere around act 1. But more on key the primary route of trade in the novelty age that this game is set in was sea trade. guns could have always been present but not implimented via write off as weapon only seen in a few choice trading ports, a very contained item, I mean the alchemic weaponry of diablo 2 was possibly not in Tristram because it's a very remote area, what's to say that the opposite isn't true of guns, that they're an up and coming weapon, that are often pushed aside in favor of another weapon, the possability of the weapon existing is probable.
Shelledfade would you mind please stop trolling this thread.

Wait. He was influenced by an outside element? Even I didn't know that...
Well, probability in Diablo 3 in my mind just shot up...

Well think about it, he's a smith, those guys rarely have time to come up with strange ideas or to go around town gathering info on new developements, how would he know about the exploding powder and a round metal tube?
And even that, he's in a siege his mind would be nothing but stopping the siege and building armor, he could have over heard a traveler describing a similar weapon and then brought it up to Qual'kek.
Strange ideas? again traders always mention unusual merchandise when they're out and about.
I'd like to see massive cannons that need to be fired from high wall that smash hordes of mobs... i could buy cannons being in D3, guns.... not sure.
I could see that. The massive cannons and whatnot. Maybe something like the siege cannon that is on the first page. Maybe have handcannons in Diablo 4.
