Crossbows weren't in D1 either, yet there they are in D2, even though D2 is set almost exactly after the first installment. In D1 we were only ever exposed to Tristram, in D2 they expanded our exposure to the Diablo World and as a result we got to see the different cultures and technologies outside of Tristram. I'm assuming that they are planning to do the same thing for part three as well, this coupled with the 20 year time gap along with some suspension of disbelief, would seem kinda plausible enough i reckon.
Plus wasn't the Witch Doctor throwing bombs around in the game-play demo anyway?
And to answer your question shelledfade, I'll be getting the game regardless of whether they'll be guns or not (I'm pretty the entire populace here will be getting the game regardless of what they each say anyway lol :P). If guns were to make it into the game however, then I'd probably much more prefer it if they were in there as a novelty items or something of the sort.
It's a valid point and people who deny it outright altogether are basically in denial themselves. You can hate on the idea as much as you want, but there's no denying the possibility.
er.... SC2 isn't even out yet and the closest thing we've seen so far to a Space Orc in SC2 would be the Tauren Marine back during the April Fools earlier this year. But whatever, I'll take your word on it anyway.

Still, it's even more ammusing you can't come up with a decent argument on the historical accuracy coupled with the magical imbuements that a hand cannon style weapon would have. I have stated multiple times that if done properly it would fit right in, and yet all I have heard in response is whining and crying akin to the arguement against the colors scheme of Diablo 3.
I am going to assume that these people who cannot argue with facts also signed said petition. *Sigh.*
Great, guns in Diablo are plausible. I never said they weren't. Just that it'd didn't fit the image that I had of Diablo. If there are guns in D3, fine. If they're not, fine. I don't care either way, guns are one of the least of my concerns when it comes to D3. And yet here you are accusing me of whining and complaining when I havn't even done anything close to it.

I agree. The chances of bows/crossbows in Diablo are probably next to nill.
Wait...shit...
And btw, those repeating crossbows are not accurate, and wouldn't of surfaced untill hundreds of years after current times in Diablo.
So you expect me to use historical accuracies for an argument that I'm not even trying to make when you yourself have shown that repeating crossbows aren't accurate themselves, yet they're still in the game? (what's up with the bow analogies anyway?) Seriously dude, you confuse me sometimes. I suppose you're going to call me an 'idiot' now and lump me into the same group as everyone else you seem to disagree with aye?
Amusing? amusing to have guns??? Even if they add the worst revolver ever, they will destroy the game. It's medieval times, medieval=/=guns
The amusement comes from the fact that it is out of place, much like the space orc in W3
The chances of guns/hand cannons in Diablo are probably next to nill, but even if it did somehow make it into the game, I'd like to think that it'll be in there as a novelty item rather than a core part of the gameplay, which to me would be pretty amusing
Guns in Diablo could be pretty amusing actually, provided that they're there for shits and giggles rather than as a core part of the gameplay imo. Slap em with like a 80% miss rate but massive damage, 1 hit KO's or something along those lines and we could be install for some pretty fun gun fights in DIII
They can make it so that there's only a total of say one or two guns you can find in the whole game. Make em unique drops like someone mentioned earlier on in the thread (sorry I forgot your name!), or an easter egg item like Wirts Legs or even a quest/'adventures' item if you wanted to
Okay, I have siffed through this entire thread and I failed to find a response to this image, anyone know where this is from?
eitehr arcane sanctum for WCIII, Pax Imperia (wiki it), or a symbol for Blizz's three main franchise in orbit of a new upcoming one, to put it bluntly no ones knows for sure, come up with your own conclusion, just don't go shoving them down peoples throats...
a lot of people it seems cos well i suppose they retarded and think just cos some people joined the site recently they dont know as much about diablo or have as much common sence as older joiners on the site to know what a fake paint brashed picture looks like
just cos i joined the site 4 days ago i wasnt born for days ago nor did i get my frist comp 4 days ago nor my frist copy of diablo
Just ignore those type of people. Let them wave their little e-phallics around, thinking they're all high and mighty.
Where did you come from man? Why join in June, most likely 2 hours or so ago, and act like you know absolutely everything?
not everything, just the fact that these one post wonders have been going on for quite some time already and surprised by the fact that they did you in only just now =P
