I like how D2's leveling was set up. You didn't need to take it all the way to 99 in order to be competitive and successful and most people didn't bother with going all the way to 99.
In fact, it's the fact that there's always another level to achieve that keeps me coming back for more. I think D3 should keep the same formula. It was something special to see a character at 99, as opposed to other games where EVERYONE was at level cap with multiple characters.
A buisness exsists to make money. Not to please Jimmy Nobody, but to take his money. That is the premise of a buisness. Again, no offense.
That wasn't what the people of the original Blizzard North team wanted (they were known as something else then, but I can't remember now), hence their ancient stand that p2p was a bad idea. That was ages ago now, though.
It would be cool if they could implement something that would allow you to level indefinitely.
still d3 will be more larger then d2 so it most be 100-150 ,its more interesting

I like the exp rate in diablo 2. I would like to see that rate continue over on to diablo 3. However diablo 3 will most definetly have a lot more content, therefore there would need to be more levels. Plus there arn't very many games out there that have over 100 levels, and I think that would be cool having a vast choice of where to allot points/stats/whatever a lvl intels. As far as how long it would take to level, since the rates would be the same it would probably be easier to level to say 99 simply because there will be content higher than hell baal runs, yielding higher exp rates. However those last few levels should be a grind like 95-99 are. On a side note, I think I would like to see "end game content" available to players who arn't maxed out, pretty much like diablo 2 is. Compared of course to the juggernaut that is wow, where more than half the content is literally unaccesible until you hit the max level.
Edit: I just noticed... what if I would want say 55 to be the max level? There isn't even an option eh?
If they make it an unlocked level advancement, we are going to witness a lot of food and sleep depraved people that will not go to work and school, and will not have sex which in turn will inevitably cause the economy to crumble upon itself and eventually make us all sexually frustrated.
So I say make it level 99 . Or it should state ' max. level gained; please stop playing now and go take a bath '.

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
I like silvers idea of reaching lvl 100 to get the bonus skill.
but i would like to see higher levels achieved as well. I like the idea of different reals for the different levels, i.e. 1-25 = certain realm 26-40 = another, although that would be pretty hard to make a story line around it and wouldn't really follow how diablo works and i like how it works, so scratch that idea. I voted for 150+ but now that i've thought it through, I think the good old 99 (or 100) would be the best.
I would like something new never seen a game go past 100, lets pass 100,

depends on game length i think.
if the game is only fairly long and you finish just about everthing in the game around lvl 70, i dont want to have to sit there for hours doing mass runs to get max my char out at 100, id rather you max out at 70 or maybe 80.
but if the game is longer and you finish at around say 90, then yeh sure maxing out at 100 is ok.
i agree holehartedly with this post. now on the fence with this one.
But in my opinion, they are way too far spread apart. It takes soooo much grinding to get there, its just not fun, especially since the skills aren't spread out as well. You can get every skill in the first 10 levels of each class, so you have like another 30 levels to go of using the same skills over and over until you get the next class. Its a hell of a long time.

Paladins - Blessed Hammers
Sorcs - Frozen Orb/Fireball/Chain Lightning
Necromancers - Bone Spear/Raise Skeleton
Just an example. The only difference is that Maple Story takes longer to level up. Diablo doesn't. They both have basically one skill, Diablo honestly being worse, because you hit 30 and you have one skill untill 99.
At least Maple Story has a new skill ever 30 or 40 levels. Diablo has the same skill for most of the game.
I do like the idea of basically changing your class every 30 or so levels. Put that in a Diablo format and it would be pretty cool.
Yeah, I like the idea of having things released slower over time, but just without all the grinding to get there.
Edit: Actually, it'd be even better just to have more skills. so like, do the same as what they have done already, but don't stop at 30. stop at whatever the max level is (say, 100). that'd be awesome. I think. I'm not sure lol. As long as the skills are actually unique. Eh, I don't want to think about it, its too hard.

Maple Story goes past 100 (but I'm not sure exactly how far). They have 4 tiers of classes, each spread out fairly evenly across the levels.
So like: Beginner -> Magician (lvl 8) -> Wizard (lvl 30) -> Mage (lvl 70) -> Arch Mage (lvl 120)
