make soketing alot more usefull and wanted, thus creating a moneysink, since you want your gear to have those sockets.
transphering the magica altributes of all but uniqe atrifacts onto other artifacts with a different look. For those that want a cool look of the char, but still want to be able to survive.
mana and health potions are not droppable, only buyable
skills are bought, not klicked in
will edit with more as soon as I have been to the toilet
no dropped potions? sounds like what blizzard is trying not to do! they want a faster game pace. why did they make health orbs? having to go to town to buy potions would make the game slow and tedious
ok, having bought skills? sounds lame and hackable. that would bring back the whole "gold farming" incident brought on by WoW. low levels would just buy gold from a farmer and get all his skills. sorry, but i dont like the idea at all
let gold sink, but dont make having gold too necessary! remember, this is diablo, not WoW.

"I'd rather chop off my ding-dong than admit that booze ain't food!"
i have always thought that the game required a set currency, it was only recently that i realized how easy that made buying gold and items. When gold is worthless there is no good way to find a set price for an item, so people dont know how much to charge for it on ebay. Of course this argument can be torn down in any number of ways, as can any argument put against it

In TQ you go to town, buy 100 potions, and play, and not come back to town for some while. That's because TQ doesn't have a belt and just uses the hotkeys 9 and 0 for all potions + they stack. So far DIII is heading the same way, so potion spamming may end up being highly encouraged, even with a cooldown.
Do you guys think that gold will be more important than in Diablo II? I just used gold in d2 to drop on the floor and make funky images or repair from charsi, but I have a feeling that it will be bigger. Any thoughts? Maybe thats how you will make Guilds with gold, like in WoW.

Well, I'm guessing they will be expanding on everything for Diablo 3.. I doubt they would forget gold.
I'm sure there will be new functions for it.

The reason it needs to be worth something is so that you dont need d2jsvp to trade....its SO hard to get stuff on your own, giving gold value will make it possible to get stuff on your own. Its like..you can do TONS of mf runs and get nothing out of it after all that grind. But if the gold is valuable then after all that grinding you have "grinded" out yourself a bit of profit

So do you agree it should be harder to get? Maybe the items sell for a lot less. I agree with you though. That way all the MFing wasn't for nothing.
Exactly. Gold should be worth more. To me, it would be cool if you spent the gold on something useful other than items that did really cool things. The reason i say not to buy items because no matter how hard the gold would be to get or anything if you could buy really good items with it then everyone would be decked out like with wow pvp gear.

item trading in d2 should be just like back in the medieval times i mean shit... gold is just weak... jsp was made because some people were too poor to get real items so they were like uhh this is worth this and this is worth this... its lame because u cant use it... hrs at least if u didnt want/couldnt trade them you could use them im runewords etc...
And I also think they could really cut it down by a digit or two. I'd feel better to have 150 gold that have a worth than 10000000 gold that are worth nothing. There used to be a horrible inflation in Sanctuary 20 years ago or so I heard.
In Diablo, gold was never held any importance outside repairing your armor.
Do I think developers should make it more difficult to obtain? Yes
Do I hope for a hope that gold holds value? Yes
From the demo and other articles I've read, Blizzard has taken a lot of ideas from WoW. Hopefully, developers teach a paradigm, or scripture, in which the of value in money maintains its purpose. I sit here and ponder. . . Only time will tell.

Make it worth something? Yes or No
We are accomplices.
Yes.
I don't think gold should be everything in the game, item trading should matter too, but it'd be nice to have some value.
